This game runs so poorly on high end machines. Look, I enjoy the content, but going near stitches my fps drop to 22..Really?!

Before people say "upgrade computer" 2080 ti cpu i9 overclock to 5.1 ghz. I built this machine for cyberpunk.

People saying it is a older game. Wow had a patch not to long ago that uses more cores, and it fps is much better in it. My system is not being pushed at all when i get the dips.

This is getting silly at this point.

Your complaints are invalid. Why? Because ESO is perfect. No bugs exist. Performance is the best in the world.

So what this all has to do with Expansions?

Your complaint is related to game engine which is probably coded by different team than one working for expansions!

We have asked here the ZoS take 1 90 day update cycle to work on the lag but they always refuse. idk why they cant do both, performance tuning should be part of development, but not a ZoS.

Lags are not easier to overcome, its complicated issue and not same for everyone.

Some facing in PVE and most in PVP, most of time its our ISP issue but not ZOS!

I play ESO on max graphical settings with no FPS loss and no lag, even in no-CP cyrodiil. Ever.

I used to have fps and stuttering issues all the time, until I got a tip from a friend; turn off your add-ons. ESPECIALLY ones that are out-of-date.

I barely use any addons at all, I specifically avoid larger or higher impact addons like Skyshards and Lorebooks (UI are the worst), and I never use an addon that is out-of-date.

Solved all my problems. I never crash or have infinite load screens, I never have FPS loss and I fight in Cyro with no lag. Been this way since pre-Morrowind.

It's cool that you dont struggle with performance, but your assumptions that turning addons off will fix cyrodil is objectively false.

I don't have a single addon, not even outdated or disabled ones, and the game tends to run like ass water for me. Especially for loading screens taking between 20-30 seconds.

Yes, the game is having issues right now for the majority of players. I wish they'd take some time to fix the underlying structure, whether that be to enlarge the megaserver, open another megaserver (or two) or even revamp the game on a new engine but they really REALLY love their money, so until the game just up and exhales its last breath for all players I do not think they will do a single thing to improve the issues occurring on their end.

Well, it seems SOMEONE may have been playing this game too long if they think the currency we use is Gold.

That aside, the budget is only a part of any issue. The budget is determined AFTER a project is laid out and the number of people required for said project is determined.

Why would anyone think that if you have one server, adding People to stand around and nod their heads would improve anything? You sound like you think this is a physical issue. Like picking up a large object. Get more people and you can complete the job faster.

Guess what. It doesn't work that way. If you have One server there is an optimum number of people that work on it. Hiring any more does literally no good. That just stand around and nod their heads in agreement with what others are doing. Throwing more money at them does nothing. You could increase the salaries of the the group and nothing would change. Removing the people from an entirely different project does Nothing.

People need to quit thinking that there are Simple answers and that Zos, for some reason, does not want these issues fixed. I am absolutely convinced that Zos wants every aspect of the game to run smoothly with no problems for anyone.

Ill never understand why some people are so dense that they dont comprehend the distribution of funds is what makes the real difference. Sure they may be two teams but if one is getting all the money and personnel

And I am sure that you have Facts and Data to support the accusation that Zos is denying money and personnel toward the service/maintenance and is under staffing that area, but is over staffing R & D and over paying them as well.

Certainly wouldn't be just some idea someone picked out of the air.

People Quit because of bugs. People don't Quit because of Expansions.

When people Quit Zos loses ALL potential revenue from that source. Therefore fixing Bugs IS the top priority, not just here but in Any game.

If you use an Nvidia GPU you can still play at 1440p (maybe AMD too, but I wouldn't know for sure). Just enable DSR in the Nvidia control panel.

I run ESO at 1440p on my 1080p monitor, using a GTX 1070, and still sit at around 50-60% GPU usage. I can push all the way to 4k and still stay close to 60fps (not quite permanent 60fps though, so I stick to 1440p). ESO is highly CPU restricted, so with a GPU like the OP's he might even be able to play the game at 8k and see no difference in framerate.

You want to disable HD shadows and lower draw distance if you want to increase your framerate, because those are the biggest CPU hogs in ESO.

    First: Gold.... humor....

Second: Bugs.... There are thousands in hundreds of thousands or millions of lines of code. Most of them are syntax errors, where someone put in an extra colon, or left out a variable, or inverted several variables.
We're not talking about a 'large object'.
We're not talking about the number of people that can all fit inside the server room at the same time.
We're not talking about how many pallbearers can all lay hands on the same coffin at the same time.

Third: This is a complicated issue only in that not everyone can code, but it's a simple issue in that many coders could fix the bugs (after evaluating the bugs by type and area of effect) if you were to give the coders 10 bugs each (for example), and had many coders working simultaneously.

There would be overlap, but it's not an insurmountable problem.

I'm relatively certain that projects like the SpaceX missions had simultaneous teams working on code, and they managed to pull it off.
And they had to invent a lot of the hardware/software while making the project work.

I'm sure ZO$ wants the game to run smoothly for everyone, too, but we don't seem to be seeing them do much about it.
Reference bugs reported in the test server discussions that show up in the final code anyway.
