Well not all skill points are necessary. For example skill points used to speed up research can be recovered, you cannot be both vampire and WW, some skill lines are redundant altogether (ex. Bow on a magicka character), and even in skills lines that are governed by the dominant attribute of the build, there could be plenty of redundant skills, for example Rapid Strikes for a NB. With about 400 you can spec pretty much everything you will ever need. I've done so on my Stamina DK, even speccing select destro staff & mages guild passives and skills that he needs for tanking. He is also a master crafter, and has all 4 stamina weapon skill lines almost fully specced and he's a WW (vampire requires fewer skill points). And that's pre-Elsweyr. That's why my previous comment was obviously ironical.

You don't get to judge or decide what's necessary or not for other people's playstyle or sense or fun or sense of comfort.
Bow skill line is unnecessary for a magicka toon, you say ? How about hybrids ? Or characters that switch attributes mostly with gear ? That's just one example. You just don't get to decide for others. If ZOS decides to provide a logically limited set of assets and options in the game, it definitely needs to be the same for everyone.

What is this "playing wrong" nonsense? What is your goal in taking that tone? I said nothing about how you should play. Who are you anyway? Why would I care how you play? Ironically, it is you who are clearly implying that I am doing things wrong.

My main has always been the one to play new content. He is the one who already has relationships with NPCs that reappear in DLC, adding to the storytelling. He also knows most motifs, so he remains my main crafter, and most recipes. But here you are saying I should just run trials and dungeons with him and mothball him for other content.

If you can follow this discussion, the fact that you don't need the skillpoint is pretty irrelevant to people running short and getting value from every skillpoint they have. People are mentioning the shortage because of the flippant comments claiming one skillpoint doesn't matter. It obviously does if I can't have keen eyes because I ran out of skillpoints. There often aren't enough skillpoints.

Perhaps the over-the-top tone of the OP doomed this discussion. Acting like this blunder is something nefarious is going to lead to many people being more dismissive than they would have been otherwise. Hyperbole is so counterproductive.

My main on Xb1 NA was made at launch. I want my skillpoint, I am owed my skillpoint, I am entitled to my skillpoint.

Points that are entirely irrelevant and have absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact of the matter:
-That it is "just one skillpoint".
-YOU don't use all your skillpoints.
-YOU don't think it is that big of a deal.

Your opinions on the matter mean absolutely nothing, and do absolutely nothing to change facts. Objective reality > your subjective opinion. Gimme my skillpoint, I actually need it.

My contribution matches the qualitiy of the topic.

There are enough skill points ingame, as long as you don't level each and every weapon skill line. Skill points are so abundant that ppl even refuse to sell out to Sheogorath who provides another two.

Not to mention that you get tons of skill points in Cyro, be it shards or be it alliance ranks.

If it wasn’t that Elsweyr giving me an additional 6 or 7 skill points with sky shards etc I’d maybe be annoyed but I have every skill point in the game minus the expansion ones and I don’t miss them so I’m not fussed.

I’ll already not use the ones I collect in this expansion so a few extra are just more I won’t use.

There’s already more than enough to have all class skills, passive several weapon trees, armours and guilds and world along with crafting.

I’m a max crafter vampire Magika DD and Heal and have everything I need plus ledgermen, DB, TG passives I want/need and after this 20ish to spare.

Point being losing out on these 2 or 3 really doesn’t impact your ability to spend skill points based on what’s already there and this game is one of the more flexible MMOs when it comes to investing skill points across the board.

Not to quibble here, just curious

Does that include Psijiic, Vampire, Thieves guild and dark brotherhood?

Does it include wanting to Master all crafting?

At this point isn't about having or not having "enough" skill points. It's about the "philosophy behind it. It's basically a tiny little middle finger to those who where around before Morrowind. Not matter how little the gesture is, it still remains an issue.

I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FIGHT FOR EQUALITY IN A VIDEO GAME.

I would like to see this addressed eventually, but honestly it is very low on my priority list as right now there are more skill points in the game than I really need on most characters, granted my crafter could use a few more but that's more about me completing more content than anything else. Really unless we see a dramatic increase in available skills, passives, or a larger skill bar, this fix is way less important than fixing bugs and sever issues. If it really is that devastating then I recommend just rolling a new main character.

Which is exactly why this should be fixed without a fight period, its clear as day it's complete bs yet people like you keep spewing excuses for ZOS why doesn't @ZOS_GinaBruno come in here and address it?

Probably because it interferes with the launch of selling skyshards.

Or is there another reason ZOS is ignoring a 10 minute fix?

I'd like to hear from someone at ZOS and not another clown bent over accepting anything.
