When Bloodroot Forge was still brand new and my only viable toon was my heavy armor PvP healer, I and 3 PvP guildmates spent an insane amount of time (about 5 hours total) struggling through that place so we could get our Earthgore. All of us were in PvP gear and maybe one of us had an idea what a "rotation" was or why we would possibly need it (that's probably a high estimate), so you can imagine how painful that was. I finally got it and proudly took it home where I proceeded to gold it out, except I accidentally didn't click enough times (back before it defaulted to the highest amount needed) and only used 7 temps to upgrade my [stupidly] unlocked, hard-won helm. RNGeezus kicked me where it hurts and decided that wasn't going to fly and my helm got destroyed. I couldn't even be angry, because it was 100% my fault.

I tried messaging Zos about it, asking for help, but all I got back was a canned response saying my ticket had been closed. Oh well. My next time through a few days later was still pretty painful, but I locked that thing the MOMENT I got it. Lesson learned.

So, today I was browsing around an achievement furnisher goods, and I saw a Gargoyle statue. I was curious to see what kind of statue it was and, when I was going to check it, I accidentally pressed E. It was.. 50,000 gold. Ouch. There is no sell back button, so now my home has a statue worth half it's price.
What about you guys? What was the worst accidental move, be it attacking an innocent, going out of sneak and losing a bunch of tel var stones, etc, you made in-game?

Did exactly the same thing only mine was a giant, metal sphere. Some sort of Clockwork thingy. It sits outside in the courtyard of my Summerset warehouse... I mean mansion.

Bought two legendary Briarheart Bands from a zonechat seller for 100k each before I realised that they were in the Gold Vendor that weekend. I thought I got a good deal to resell them. Now they are worth even less than what I paid. Btw. anyone wants tu buy them off me? ;)

I'm sure I've done worse, but just recently accidentally crafted a set bow at clv150 rather than 160 and upgraded it to gold before I noticed the problem when I couldn't apply the glyph.

Managed to sell it for the cost of the gold upgrade materials, but ouch.
Think of they guy who bought it :)

Not leveling up crafting on all of my characters back when deconstructing stolen items gave full xp and mats.

Although, it still doesn't take very long once you have a few chars doing crafting writs, so many intricate items from writs make it easy./

I’ve made several mistakes when I started playing Elder Scrolls Online (which is my first MMO). But the main three were:
    1. Not knowing the usefulness of sets, I played without any sets far into my CP levels. Found the game very hard at times, which is quite funny looking back now as without the benefits of sets that is quite logical.
    2. I once got this weird item called “Aetherial Cipher” a few years back. Had no idea of its worth or what to do with it and I wasn’t in any guild at the time, so I deleted it when I needed inventory space. (Luckily, I got another cipher with the 5 year’s anniversary event in one of the event boxes).
    3. When I started playing the game it was shortly after One Tamriel came out. Since all the guides on the web talked about how zones further on in the game were only meant to be accessed after certain levels, I stayed away from other zones until I had finished all quests in a particular zone. So I didn’t go to Auridon until I had finished Kenharti’s Roost, then I finished all of Auridon before daring to go to Grathwood. Half way through Grathwood, I became aware that that was no longer the case, so I started to progress much faster after that.

Buying many Vvardenfell Furnish recipies for 400k-1000k 2 month before they announced there will be a RNG letter for 50 voucher. The more sad part is that I waited months after Morrowind release hoping their prices will drop but it increased, so eventually I bought them at their highest prices, cost me around 10-15 millions.

Luckily I haven't made any major mistakes. Worst mistake I probably ever made was using a rare motif page on a character that wasn't my main (crafter). It was Ancient Orc, back when that motif first came out. Found one page in the overland and used it on wrong character.

My FIRST mistake in this game though was when i brought home that brand new copy the day it was released in stores and put in down on the counter to grab a drink....by the time i had shut the fridge door, my wife had the game in her hands and a happy/mine look as she ran off and installed it.....
.....a week later was back at the store for MY OWN copy!

Not sure if this counts as a mistake

I was clearing my inventory and I tried to destroy a useless one handed axe. What really happened thanks to lag was: I equiped the useless axe, the item I was hovering for destruction was my TFS yellow infused dagger. (yes, I destroy items by drag'n'drop) After that incident I started to join PUG nSO runs once again. (and I now have the setup back again)

TFS weapons are indeed useless, since stacks start to drop off fast once you bar swap. That set is good only as armor or jewelry since you most likely want a Maelstrom bow back bar. The mistake was indeed keeping and upgrading it.

I thought about locking it and waiting until I had enough gold platings. I went about my in-game day, and as usual, by the end of the day, I deconned everything I had no use for. Get to the jewelry station and go "cool! A purple ring. Let's see if I get a grain out of it."

I used my only 4 purple platings to make that ring. The quest sat on my journal for more than a month. And no, I did not get a grain out of the ring when I deconned it.

Jewelry master writs aren't worth doing. Considering the current prices of materials on EU-PC where I play, the craft cost for the most advantageous ones is around 900-1000 gold per voucher, while for other types of master writs like Blacksmith, Clothier, Woodworking is more like 400-500 and for Enchanting and Alchemy is as low as 300 per voucher. So it's actually way more profitable to sell the upgrade and trait materials, buy some of the other writs and craft those instead for more vouchers and even a good profit margin. I destroy most jewelry master writs I get, and only keep the really big ones >350 or so, with the hope that one day the upgrade material prices will drop somewhat and they will be worth crafting.

This is a bit ridiculous but last night i was looking to spend event tickets on another feather and i was hovering over them to see which ones i had. I sneezed out of nowhere and the sneeze caused me to purchase the wrong feather. Much to my annoyance you cannot sell the event items back to the merchant so i just wasted 10 tickets for nothing.

have probably wasted about 30 or 40 tickets in this game so far which makes this whole jumping through hoops, limited tickets at a time, limited time items, etc a pain. This ticket event is actually more headache than it is worth because it has been so poorly thought out that just frustrates people.

There's no problem having multiple copies of the same feather, since you can always make combos and redeem them for a new nascent indrik. In fact, during the first few events there was only fone feather available, but you got like 20-30 tickets and no way to stack more than 12. I did buy 2-3 copies of each feather and kept them in separate containers for a while, then used them to make nascent indricks. ATM I have both morphed indrik, a nascent one ready for next event, both pets and also 8/12 feathers ready to buy the first berry from the next in the first day of the upcoming event - from the PTS it's hinted that it will be a dungeon one in June-July, just before Midyear Mayhem.

I did lose 4 tickets since they introduced them. First I forgot to log in in the morning turn in some quests I had from the previous day in Morrowind, not realizing that the event ended that day instead of the next, another one was during this long Anniversary Event, when I accidentally activated the cake before I had spent 10 of the 12 tickets I had already. Also I could consider buying 2 Lyris pages with tickets a loss, not knowing that in week 5 they will come mixed, and in hindsight I see I could have bought a feather for the 4th Indrik instead. But in the long run I don't think those mistakes will have any effect, considering how many surplus tickets we get.

Back when every dk in the game used werewolf hide backbar for the ult gain and when 2h only counted as 1 piece i sold a sharpend werewolf hide 2h for 1k gold.

The best build was werewolf hide backbar and a vma 2h front bar because it still had the weapon damage bonus. If you didnt have a vma weapon you had to use the werewolf hide 2h for the 4 piece weapon damage bonus.

I just transfered from xbox, had below 300cp but i had a vma 2h so i fully expected that everyone who wanted it had a vma 2h and that the werewolf hide 2h wasnt worth much... i was wrong.

Edit : moral of the story.. expect other players to be bad :(

Two days ago I golded out gear, all fine with that. Except when I made the enchantments. 4 Hakeijo, gold enchantments. All fine until I put them on armour, and realized (after applying the enchantment...) that they actually were very low level enchantments and not CP 160. RIP. Couldn't even deconstruct.
