What was the worst accidental mistake you've made in-game?

Deconstructed Sharpened Inferno Maelstrom staff Pre-CWC (my only on at the time) when trying to upgrade. Fortunately customer service stepped in.
Golded out sets and pieces when I was a new character based on how cool the item looked. Fighters guild Prismatic staff (part of Orghams scale) sits in my chest as a reminder.
Deconstructed number of monster helms and sets and did not realise for a bit. had 400 odd keys so basically just went through collecting the jewellery and best traits from the chests. needless to say I went ahead and deconstructed a lot, but also lots of bits I needed including the helms which I had banked
Levelling up writ items to legendary then finding out it was wrong trait, needless to say since then I have got lazy writ!
Flipped a coin recently with 3 legendary tempers for upgrading a BSW ring when slightly tipsy (I lost)
Recently and not my fault really, but with that bug in home chests and deleting new alts. I lost all of my Cloudrest bits which filled the chest in the home. Managed to get 7-8 bits back, but had to name the trait, quality etc which was impossible for the whole chest. Needles to say, will never store higher value items in chests in the home again.

Oh, I forgot one:

When I started doing master writs, I blocked my slot for tailor writs with an extra fancy and expensive 9 trait order. Took me months to do it.

Oh, not a mistake per se but did make me feel totally dumb: took me WAY too long to realize that there are other combos of alchemy reagents that make the common writ pots.... *sigh*

Today, after playing the game for over 3.5 years I finally managed to make a costly mistake, in absolute terms, but which is almost inconsequential relative to my own assets. I have leveled crafting on all characters, some even had the upgrade passives specced, but since specced out. Today I wanted to upgrade a monster set, and I forgot the character I had logged on didn't have those passives. Normally, with passives, the upgrade cost would have been about 100K, but it ended up being 270K since the extra 24 Dreugh Wax (20 per instead of 8) are worth 170K gold (~7K per unit on EU-PC).

And I was pissed for the moment, but then I started realizing that things aren't terrible. I fact the frustration worked as a catalyst to implement some decisions I had on my mind for a long time:
- went and bought all houses I didn't own. It was pretty costly but it felt good, since I'm a completist and I had planned to do that in a couple of months anyway.
- donated large sums to both my main trade guilds, since I know the fees for traders are quite high in Mournhold and Belkarth respectively. I will donate regularly from now on.
- finally realized I was fed up with most of the people in my PvE guild and left it for good, from now on I will play solo and with people from zone/trade guild chat; trial progression is most likely done for good, since I realized I dislike most trials very much.

Also accidentally blasted the cannonreeve inside Vulkelguard hall. Guards were not pleased.

I was stacking up bounties in vivec city to use that 100k counterfeit reward you get from thieves guild was at 99.5k and was up at platform over bank when a player below started shooting fire balls at me to show appreciation I started to do the same and hit guard intentionally but since I was up at platform that guard couldn't hit and I was enjoying my time deploying destro ulti until late suddenly as I turned back and guard one shots me with enraged silver bolt of 20k

I have done many stupid things but the one that hurt the most was decostructing a skoria helmet in divines (prior to transmute stations). Ugh!! xD

bought nirnhoned weapons for reserach and sold them to merchant short after, let's sell all this white crap, it didn't teach me anything as I kept doing this several times, I think I paid an awful amount of gold to fully research that trait.

1st dungeon I ever did, Crypt of Hearts. I didn’t realize the Ilambris twins...well...were TWINS. The fight was so hectic I didn’t realize there were TWO of them. So, once the first Ilambris dummy was dead, I stopped fighting and started celebrating.

Well...the tank died. The healer died. Then the other dd died. I had to kill that last Ilambris fool all by myself. I didn’t know how to rez nobody. Luckily he was almost dead. Lol. Ah...noobs.

Having opinions that some people don't quite agree with, in this videogame, be it on the forum or in-game.

It uhm.... It has lead to quite a few people getting salty, even if they were shared at a time when I wasn't feeling spiteful.

I think the worst I've done was lag made me buy two expensive furnishing items from a vendor when I only wanted one. The game had a big lag spike and I thought it didn't register the first time. When I double-clicked again, I still didn't get it, so I realized I was lagging out.
So I end up on the login screen, log back in... and I have two of 'em.
They really should have a sellback option for achievement furnishing items, it isn't anyone's fault the game runs like butt sometimes and you get lagged out because of it. >.<

Had ESO for a long time, made some funny mistakes. :P

Meant to use rapid maneuver, instead I use AOE ability which harms npcs and some guards caught me. xD Wanted to talk with banker, but her darn chest was right in front of her. So started picking the chest by accident with a guard right behind me...wops. Dismounted, accidentally used light attack on civilian in front of me mid air. Guard next to me.

Ohh and a classic. In a crafting station I wanted to preview a piece of furnishing I could make. Instead of pressing T for preview, I press R for craft. Happened to many times.

Golded max lvl gear I made myself, thinking that was the best gear possible. Wops. xD

Worst mistake..hmm. Buying some small house just so I had something instead of a tiny apartment, when I should've of saved the gold. Today I'm never in that house. xD What a waste of gold.

(In my defense this was my first MMO experience so the idea of sets in itself eluded me... as for armor I had just come off playing Oblivion and Morrowind so I had the idea about me I could just do what I want with no really big consequences... WRONG.)

Lol, that was exactly my first year too, I never wanted to use sets, purpled useless gear that looked cool.

No matter my brother telling me and offering to craft for me many times, I said no. I don't even know why, this is also my first mmo. 3 years later now a GMC and every time I craft, I shake my head at my past self.

I was in the process of changing my build on my pvp character and had no weapons on my second bar and so I was missing my 5 peice bonus etc and I ignorantly joined a campaign. It didm't take long for me to realise something ws amiss as soon as I was ganked and felt like I was fighting naked 😂

The worst I have ever done (and I have done it SEVERAL times) is deconning items that I have improved to gold, transmuted to my liking, but forgot to lock.

I also have deconned MANY, MANY items that can sell for around 100k on the market

Worst: Before locking items was a thing I´ve deconned (deconned? deconed? nvmd) some really valuable items by accident (undercaffeination is dangerous!).

And not the worst, but the funniest: I´ve soloed Spindleclutch I on normal and threw cherry blossom thingies on the last boss because I forgot that they still were slotted on the q key instead of a potion (again: undercaffeination is dangerous!).

I accepted an invite that I thought was for a dungeon group but was actually a duel.

I was in my squishy PvE gear with PvE bars and I was completely destroyed in front of many, many players in Mournhold. I don't think I even got a hit in - possibly engulfing or something useless lol.

i just logged and it was quite some time before I ported into Mournhold again

Reminds me of some unsatisfying deaths to town guards. Especially being full of loot, rare blueprints/motifs or - in one case - carrying half of the golden loot for the master thief achievement. Well, the latter did not end fatal for me, but I paid the bounty, being totally sure I would not have to hand over quest items to guards. I was so wrong. So ... back to start.

I golded my first set of v armor and thought I was done with armor on that character so I went ahead and made golded sets for every 10 levels while leveling, in case I wanted to twink alts.
Without considering that my armor need might change, or that my alts would one day want high level armor as well, or that there would be more v levels.
And of course I decided to rarely ever use any of the gold sets because it was teaching me bad habits on new classes, and they took up precious storage space for years.

Edit: Not such a big deal now, but I deeply regretted it while farming to gold stuff for quite awhile.
