I wonder if OP is talking about an actual zerg or players searching around a keep for any stragglers after they win a battle.

Zergs tend to not waste their time for one guy. Many at a keep after a battle will search and kill those hiding around in the area. Very different that what OP is trying to say.

Really, you don't know. Perfect demonstration here, literally happens all the time.

Because you PvP to win, not to just show up. How can you expect this NOT to happen?

If you are looking for a "fair" fight - you need to duel. If you are looking for combat, you will do whatever it takes to be the last man standing. They designed BGs to accommodate an even number 4x4, but Cyrodil is outright war.

There are no participation ribbons for showing up to a battle.

If you were 1vXing a group and got chased down for it, then most likely you were very annoying and they wanted you dealt with before moving on. You dont reserve the right to break off from the fight easily when you get overwhelmed. Ive chased down numerous solo players cause they would harass and gank the stragglers of an army then spam major expedition to run away from the retaliators.

You've deemed yourself a threat, the zerg will remove that threat.

That looked like the player was running away in the same direction the group was headed.

People feel confident in large groups when the enemies a smaller number. So why not chase you down? It's easy AP and stops you from being a problem to our objectives for a short time.

    I'm just the opposite.

I'd rather be one taking down 20 (do it often in PvE).

Just seems lazy to do it the other way round. Where's the challenge?

Now take on a Wisp Mother at level 10 and win. That's a challenge! (hey, it's a challenge at 120).

Zerg is part of the game ofc, but those of AD are the worst of all by far.

I don't especially like EP but at least DC vs EP fight are interesting in 1v1 or XvX situation. I had less this feeling about AD.

What would be the other option for them chasing endlessly? All 20 "zerglings" turn their backs for you, do nothing and give a fair chance for you to 1vx all of them easily perhaps. It feels like many just want somekind of immunity in pvp area when soloing, when you solo it's just a matter of time when you bump into a large group and most likely they will attack you, because it's pvp area and that's what you should expect always. Question is why would "1vxer" run away from the 20 "zerglings" when that's exactly the situation the "1vxer" was searching I'd assume?

Ok, possibly not the right thread to ask but the quote is here so I'll ask (and I am trying to understand, and I haven't done PvP so indulge me).

Snipe (bowtards apparently), this is frowned upon? It's a legitimate ranged attack, part of the game, other classes have ranged attack. Why is this frowned upon in PvP when I've consistently seen the explanation of 'it's war, everything goes' (notably during the PvP festival event when PvE buffet was on the menu).

I edited OP a bit for a new question.

Endlessly? If I'm in a group we'll either chase you down because a) you can be a pest later, and it's better to remove that irritation now; or b) stop you from putting a camp down nearby so you and your mates lying all dead in the field can rez up and hit us.

If you're just a rabbit.... just keep running, an organised group will stop chasing you in due time.

You should carry invisibility potions for such cases. Find a cover, put it between you and zerg, drink potion and run random direction. Start crouching towards the end of the effect.
Or even better - use NB and cloak away.

Snipe is a legit ranged attack yes, typical snipeling wants as much easy kills with as minimum actual fighting with enemy as possible, in larger fights they often have their own alliance players doing the actual fighting in the front lines while they pick their skilled kills from range without putting their own precious arse in the actual fight. Often the snipeling is also a nightblade class maximazing the chicken effect of the whole setup.
Snipeganks are probably the most chicken ways to play pvp in my opinion, my characters are usually tanky enough and I often survive bowganks, after few fails these players don't bother attacking me, but target the easier targets instead, that's how these chickens opetare. However I've been playing on NA server for few weeks now and my characters aren't as strong as my EU characters of course, I've been bowganked few times so fast from my mount there wasn't any time to block or roll before I was down, even if I survive first hits I'm already so low on resources and won't last long. I got the full impregnable set from battlegrounds and it helps much in those situations, helps to survive but not win those situations at this point.
Bowganking lower cp players is still totally legit way no matter how chicken way to play it is, I'll just get stronger and tankier so at some point those chickens need to find some rockhole to hide instead of easy kills. However chasing these ganklings with a full group is also totally legit way to play also, after few weeks experience as a n00b again I totally support every bowgankling run down to the grass level.

It's impossible to know if someone is just some solo player or in group, rest of the group could be hiding or nearby, revives and camps are threats as mentioned.

What goes through their mind? 1 more kill for the quest. Guys, Cyrodiil PVP was not designed for a few good players to duel each other. It's supposed to for the average player to join up in large army combat. It's not supposed to be a solo experience.

Exactly in most cases just one more kill for quest, it feels the chased ones often think nowadays they're somekind of untouchables even they can kill new players however they like. It's amazing that this discussion is still on, dueling has been around for probably about 3-4 years already, battlegrounds about 2 years now, these pvp modes are obvious choices if someone actually wants to avoid being chased by these large groups. If someone picks Cyrodiil as pvp mode and decides to go tough solo 1vxer way, it's fine unless the soloing is nothing but running away, rock humping, tree hugging and whining about "zerglings".

    Zerglings:
Cyrodil isn´t ment for dueling or solo play
Cyrodil is a warzone where anything is allowed

Solo player accepts this fate and realise solo play won´t do any good for now

Solo players groups up with other like minded individuals on voice and becomes organized/good enough to kill groups 3-4 times their own group size

Also zerglings: Nerf organized group play

Imo, it could be any number of things. They could be newer players. They could be bored and just looking for anyone to kill. They possibly don't know you aren't in a group and think the rest of your team is close by. They might think you're trying to put up a forward camp if you're near a battle. Etc, etc.

I personally like it when a zerg chases me down (I'm pretty much always solo), even if they kill me quickly, they still took precious seconds or minutes to come after me instead of going to help take that keep or get that scroll back. Even better if they stick around, lingering over my still warm body, waiting to see if I have friends coming to rez me. Gonna be a long wait, muahahahahaa.

One time I was riding my mount on my EP and got in the middle of an AD zerg and just rode along with them.
Took them a while to realize they had a red in their midst.
Didn't end too well for me once they realized. lol

Agree with others - one player can rez an army so they all have to be stomped - it’s really the only way. How it happens doesn’t matter.

Often when I see multiple players whaling on someone they’re a perma tank (or other annoying build or play style) of some kind or a player everyone just plain hates.

They just want to be involved in making them dead and they don’t care how it looks.
