Can't you disable that damn ticker at the end of a dungeon ?

fxeconomisteb17_ESO
I absolutely hate this. I have inventory issues, have to think what I have to break, the ticker ends and can't complete dungeon quest. It's extremely frustrating!
"Is it true her wounds healed on their own ? Yes" No s***, at 75% health regen penalty!

Yes, as a recently returned player who is new, it is frustrating because if your group leaves before the dungeon to is over, sometimes you can't even turn in the quest. Not a good feeling, knowing you sometimes are at the mercy of whether other players leave before the end of dungeon to is over, nevermind talking to the npc

I've suggested it before, place a "courier NPC" outside of dungeons that will "deliver" your completed dungeon quests to the right person and in return gives you the reward you would have gotten from the dungeon. It's bad when some dungeons have their RP events take so long before you have any opportunity to turn in, the other option would be to be able to turn in your quest while they're still going about their little event or put the turn in NPC closer to the final boss. Some dungeons this NPC is a little down the ways or inaccessible while they're talking.

    1. Do long quests in normal dungeons
    2. Open chat
    3. Write "wait for quest plz"
    4. In 95% of cases somebody will wait, overall ESO population is quite friendly.

Agree. This needs to be fixed. I just stay in group until everyone still in group has left the dungeon. No reason to leave group right away.

It's not as consistently harmful as it would be if people were less considerate than they are, but it's still bad.

E.g., if the group ran past chests, why should it be forbidden to go back and pick them up after the dungeon is finished?

And this is a big flaw. You should have the option to refuse the kick out once a dungeon is completed.

I usually tank dungeons now (mainly bc it's easier to get through Queue then DPS). I always ask if someone is *** the quest at the start so I know to wait. Otherwise if i'm the one doing the quest I let everyone know at the beginning so they know to wait. I'v never had any issues when iv done it this way.

    ^ This

I have done all dungeons so many times that I don´t even think about the quest. However, if someone in the group let us know, I always wait for that person to finish the quest.

But it’s stupid on both ends; stupid for people who have to rely on others to stick around and stupid for people who don’t want to stick around.

Just remove the stupid exit timer.

    There’s no need for it.

Same with trial instances. One person should be able to keep instance if they see fit.

it is horrible, and it is one of the reasons i struggle with the idea that devs play the game like we do.
yes, maybe they play, but do they play daily like we do, hours and hours daily or just occasionally?
for us that play often it is these little things that make the game really disturbing.

To all the "why is that even a thing?!" guys.

Remember the groupfinder bug? One that only occurs during prime time and disappears in the late evening when people stop playing? Yep. That's why.

Like it or not, but ZOS can only create limited amount of dungeon instances. So it is fairly logical that they want to clear them out as fast as possible. Once the group has disbanded they are kicked from the instance so a new group can get in. Simple.

Another reason to run dungeons solo, no kick timer.

I think it's time for a (solo) "Story Mode" for each dungeon ...

It really is a crying shame there is no story mode for dungeons. I’ve played this game on and off since beta, and I honestly haven’t taken in the story of a single dungeon. You simply don’t have time, it’s all just a huge rush.

I completely agree. It feels like no one on the team actually plays the game like we do or things like this would have been changed long ago.

Okay, fair enough. Now the question is, "why is that thing still a thing?" :p

It's fairly illogical to not acknowledge the unintended side effects of the timer. ZOS has gotten lots of feedback that it's interrupting the ability to complete content.

If it has to be there, the timer should at least be extended to accommodate NPCs' monologuing. That way people might actually have a chance to turn their quest in.

Writing that on the xbox ui keyboard still takes forever by the time you said that, they'd be starting another dungeon.
On the positive side the xbox update a few days ago made the keyboard small atleast, damn thing took half the screen

I can usually tell when/if someone is working on a quest (talking to npc, waiting at previous point for a little longer, etc) and in those cases I always ask if they would like me to stay grouped at the end.

About a year ago and earlier I would agree with this, though the scene has changed quite a lot. There is quite a large "zerg" playerbase now that I see this to be less common. Especially with the port to fg1 being so popular.

Having run about 7 new characters of mine up through the levelling process in the last 4 months, I found about 1 in 10 would wait in dungeons that required a pause to advance the quest. And those times it was usually only if someone else needed the quest so it was a safety in numbers.

Outside the runs where someone else was wanting a complete, I only came across 1 other group in the 4 months that would take the extra 30 seconds to ensure I could get the skill point.

No point in caring much, that's just how games go when they get larger. Just have in mind to rerun some dungeons with friends once levelled up and try to enjoy the fast complete

Communication is key. Let your group know you're doing the quest. More often than not someone will wait. Say nothing and no one will wait.

Last Tuesday we had a guild event where we ran Trials for the anniversary boxes. We started in HRC and moved to AA after. One of our guildies forgot to hand in the quest at HRC. After we finished AA, some of us ported back there and while I had the blue arrow for a new quest from the original quest giver, she had the white "completed quest" arrow and was able to hand it in at the vestibule.

Maybe they should do something similar in dungeons where if you go in with the completed quest, the quest giver is at the entrance and you can hand it in.

I wait 100% of the time. It also helps if I ask people if they are looking for gear. :-P

I've never had anyone outright say, "no," but plenty of times people simply ignored the request. There was even a time someone said he needed the quest then proceeded to bolt through the dungeon as quickly as possible, chastising everyone else for not keeping up. :D People can be weird and inconsistent. I'm always grateful to those who are kind enough to hang around (and do so myself). But, as it is now, it's just bad design.

If not disable it, they could at least lengthen it. It's far too short - and anyone who is actually bothering to listen to the quest dialogue likely won't have time to finish their quest before they get kicked out.

It kills me in Falkreath Hold. There are so many urns to loot that you are almost guaranteed to pick up multiple superior and epic level furnishing plans and recipes and people just shoot past it. If I could choose to stay behind and loot everything it would be fantastic but too many people either don’t want to make money or have money coming out their ears in this game.
