I have mained a Templar (Mag and Stam) since console launch. Never seen the class feel this bad to play, EVER!
Well, I am hoping with the new update, they are buffing cleansing ritual quite a bit to restore 1k health recovery instead of 200 which will be nice.
Even though there are better PVP classes out there, I still have fun playing this class even though its not the best.
The other classes I have are a DK and Warden. I dont like that the DK isnt very bursty and relies on DOT. The warden I tried, its definitely a solid class, but I enjoy playing the Templar more.
Do you recommend using Warden or DK over Templar for stamina PVP classes?
When necromancer comes out, I will probably trying that for stamina. But honestly I have a lot of fun playing the Templar and its my favorite class, not because its that good but because I was always drawn to it since release of the game.
I agree they need to buff the class more though. A little upset they are getting rid of initial damage on POTL
I currently run 5 heavy Hundings, 5 hulking draugr, and 2 engine guardian. I find the sustain alright, and engine guardian gives moments of extreme healing where you can go offensive and extreme sustain.
CP is a crutch for people who can’t sustain and want to be "tanky" so they aren’t immediately punished for making mistakes.
I ran the exact same setup on my Stamplar (Ravager's weapons/3 body, Bone Pirate's jewelry/2 body, Blood Spawn) and ended up going to Warden. Warden burst is just so freaking ridiculous, and it's getting BUFFED (indirectly) next patch with a stronger Dawnbreaker.
The key was I front-barred sword and shield, so I had access to Major Fracture, Minor Fracture, Minor Maim, Minor Heroism, Snare and Major Protection all on one bar, which REALLY turns the tables around mathematically.

I am thinking of switching to my Warden before you said this after giving it some thought.
They are very bursty which is what I like in PVP.
I also run 2H and sword and shield setup on my builds.
Did you notice a big improvement in PVP switching from Templar to warden? Also are you using the same gear now for the Warden (bone pirate, ravager, and bloodspawn)?

I'm running medium armor rn too but next patch heavy armor will be no brainer IMO. Better healing, comparable dmg, and you still get snare immunity via Race Against Time so you can run Rally.I'm by no means an expert, but I run fortified brass, deadly strikes, and bloodspawn. 5/1/1 medium. It does nice damage but self healing is garbage except for the ultimate. You kinda have to dip in and out of fights and choose your battles wisely or else you will die.

That is simply standing there, no stealth, self-buffed with just the skills on the bars, and a drink going. When the procs hit, she reaches resistance cap and Weapon Damage goes to 4902.

Thanks for sharing the build. What are your thoughts on using sword and shield instead of dual wield? And using shield bash for a CC, or heroic slash?

BTW, you know you're missing a 5th piece of BP in that build? Just an FYI.
