Sure all is fair in love in war, but I seen few mention if any the group of PvP players who got out of their way to make sure their faction can PvE Peace. They are the people who making the event heartwarming.
P.S ZOS please fix the door and load screen ganking before week 5.
There is no PvE in a PvP zone.
@KelMy issue isnt with you trying to turn a positive light on the event, or thank anyone...its the notion that somehow PvE is in a PvP zone. Saying things like that is exactly why we're hearing "I was forced to go into Cyrodiil" or "I was on a PvE quest in Cyrodiil, I shouldn't be killed".
Just pointing out that there is no PvE in Cyrodiil...saying otherwise is a disservice to players who hear that thinking they'll be safe or don't deserve to have PvP happen in a PvP zone. Like I said, it's encouraging lambs into the lions jaws.
Your message, though while nice, is misleading.
Nothing wrong with being nice..we could use alot more of it. But....nice still doesn't change reality.
To quote myself from another thread on the same topic:
"The part you are missing is where players were camping spawn points inside the quest pickup/dropoff buildings.
You zone into the building and you are dead on arrival.
No way to fight back, no ganking, nothing, just a loading screen and then dead.
Basically the same mechanic that the resource towers used to have when they still had doors.
There is a reason why ZOS removed those doors from the towers.
I'm sorry but that has nothing to do with PvP, it's a stupid mechanic that needs to go ..."
I still stand firmly behind this, camping a spawn point and have people come out of a loading screen into a death recap has absolutely *nothing* to do with PvP vs PvE and has everything to do with a broken mechanic that needs to go.
This doesn't address the issue @Kel is trying to address.
To call Cyrodiil anything other than a pvp zone is misleading and is a disservice to players. There are no tourists or free passes. It's up to a player's discretion if they want to let another player live or not.

In this event I have seen a lot of people that camped near cities in order to get easy kills and ap, well , I respected those people since they were good pvp players but now I know how they actually are.
I was PM-ed a lot during the event, was called bad words...just because as they say I attacked "questers".
Well in my defense (although i did not break any laws or user agreements) i can bring the following arguments:
1. These questers did not wear any "Quester" badge, it is virtually impossible to tell who's a quester and who's a ganker or who's a PvP-er.
2. Those questers that PM-ed me they are just Questers were spotted latter on flipping flags - well that is not a quest objective...it is a PvP objective.
3. Those questers usually attack you when your are outnumbered. Maybe not the questers initiate the attack but they surely will not hesitate to land the killing blow without clarifying who's the instigator.
Personally I was near the city to complete quests myself - I was friendly here and there to some players that i knew were friendly, and when there were no one in the city except us.
But as soon as there were more "questers" I had to engage every single enemy player, because if you don't reduce the number of enemies early you will be zerged down quickly few minutes later.
So please stop judging players here...better ask ZOS to stop forcing PVE-ers into PVP areas.
Cheers!

This was not brought up at all in OP's post so why bring it up here and try and start more arguments when there are so many other threads already discussing it? OP wasn't claiming that PvE players should get a free pass. They were simply thanking people who took the time to help. This is why PvE and PvP are so divided. PvP players look and PvE players as "lambs" or "casuals" while PvE players look at the PvP players as "toxic" or "elitist". It's just a game. Just let people play how they want and don't let it affect you. If people complain about dying while trying to do quests then just ignore them and they will leave when the event is over.
You guys are so fixated on people camping the building you cant even have a civil discussion. @SirAndy comment to me proves that point. I have never defended the building camping once. In fact I said it was lame. You can attack me and try to demonize me but it is not me that is misleading people about what Cyrodiil is, its YOU.

Sweet beer Jesus, "demonize" you? Are you for real?

Tasear specifically stated the spawn point camping in the initial post and yes, i happen to think that that mechanic needs to go and probably was a large contributor to the frustration of many that came to Cyrodiil this event.
This might come as a surprise to you, but i'm no stranger to PvP, i leveled a dedicated PvP character starting right at PC launch from level 10 to VR14 and later VR16 *exclusively* in Cyrodiil. Went there at level 10 before i even had weapon swap unlocked and didn't leave until the character reached VR16.
One of my guilds still is a dedicated and active PvP guild.
Just because i'm vocal against spawn point camping doesn't mean i don't PvP. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

There was no zoning. It was just a remote interior. PC players with a properly functioning client would not have experienced an issue. It wasn't that it was impossible to overcome the camps, it's that the players trying to break the camps weren't good enough. But slaughtering opponents while they are in the process of transitioning into another zone to turn in a quest seems more like an exploit to me.

Notice: no load screen in this video of a door camp being broken.
It's pretty clear in the video that it's not as hopeless as it's been made out to be. There's plenty of opportunity for players to use defensive tools to counter the ambush and defeat the players inside -- if they are capable. The actual issue was that they weren't capable.Of course. The real problem is the player just needed to "git gud". It had nothing to do with the fact there was an entire army sitting on top of a quest hub that ambushed them as the screen changed from one scene to another.

But mainly, I wanted to point out there is no zoning.
