Just a poll to see how people feel ZoS is doing about listening to its playerbase. Personally its been my experience thay ZoS will listen more to certain parts of the playerbase quite well but others wil be absolutely ignored. Id like to see what others think.

We have class reps and community ambassadors; not many games have that open communication with its player base. I'm not happy with some aspects of the game but I do not think ZoS is not listening. They listen, but implementation is kind of slow.

Nobody is confusing the two. Were talking about whether ZoS actively ignores certain parts of the playerbase in favor of others or if they listen communicate adequately with all parts of the playerbase

I am sure they listen best they can. Trying to sift through forums and in game feedback can be tough. Between wish lists, the world is ending posts, and a lot of comments with no facts to back up discussions, it can be pretty hard for any producer to find feedback that is actually shared by a significant amount of players

They only listen to class reps, and the people who have big followings on Twitch/Youtube etc. Everyone else might as well not exist.

Yes to pvp moaners but not it’s pve base.
Also only to pc not console as over year with twitch drops still not implemented with console over 4 x more than pc base. Plus confirmed not Sony holding back it can be linked now if Zos wanted to .

In their interests does not always mean that they're doing it. Look at the likes of EA, Activision, Take Two. It's in their interests to not push players away with greedy monetisation. What do they do? To quote EA, "if you don't like it, don't play it."

I sometimes feel Zenimax is like EA in some aspects of the game. The fact that BGs haven't been addressed in months, while we've brought them up and kept them within the first few pages of the PTS the last two PTS cycles, shows this. The current state of BGs is causing them to bleed players, because bugged matches are happening more and more frequently, and it's becoming more and more apparent how completely broken MMR is and the direct impact it has on whether a match is fun or not.

I can jump onto my magDK and get lopsided matches with sweaty meta builds and the occasional premade, and hate myself the entire time, or I can jump onto my stamblade and get actually decent matches. But the more I play that stamblade, the closer it gets to the experience of that magDK, so before long I need to jump onto another character just to enjoy BGs.

Or, I can jump onto that stamblade, and instantly get thrown into a bugged match, forcing me to sit through the 20 minute penalty for the game's *** up. This literally happened to me today when I quickly jumped on to do my dailies. You know what I do in those cases? Log off, play another game.

Obviously, they listen. Too many people think they have a direct line to ZoS.

Player X makes a post saying NBs need a nerf. Player Z makes a post saying NBs need a buff.

ZoS does some balancing and does nothing with NBs

Player X and Player Z both make another post saying that ZoS doesn't listen.

Notice how it's never anything actually important. Never any threads that discuss an issue that's been around for months (looking at you, bugged BGs and MMR, which I've made threads for the past two PTS periods), never any threads that bring up gamebreaking bugs, not even so much as a "hey, just to let you know, we've passed this along to the rest of the team!"

    *ZOS buffs crystal blast*

"Last update we asked for crystal blast. You buffed it, and still nobody uses. Can we finally have it?"

    *Buffs crystal blast*

"OK. Can we have a spammable or something please?"

Of course, the answer to that is "No, they do not". They have made it clear, repeatedly, that they actively seek out opinions from the whole spectrum of their players. The one thing they cannot do is engage everyone, persona a persona, individually. Not enough hours in the year to do that.

Listening to doesn't mean doing what they want, but for purpose of answering I went with how often they do indeed do what we ask. They can't always do what everyone wants, that is impossible. But if you really look at what the players ask for then look at what they implemented in the game, yeah they "listen" pretty good. Especially compared to some other game where they never listen and have, as a result, lost over ten million subbed players and are down from a high of twelve million to under one million LOL. Now THAT is a gaming company who needs to "listen". This one does pretty good IMO.

No game dev should listen to its playerbase. Always remember people are idiots and the dunning Kruger effect is constantly in motion. The devs should balance based off data with suggestions from top players who know the ins and outs of game mechanics, though with a grain of salt because everybody has their class biases as well as their suggestions catering only to the top level of play.
