Kaalgrontiid: 30 Day CP Enabled & Alliance Locked

This was what I've been afraid of for this patch and it came true. This is a problem for everyone who wants to play on a 30 Day Campaign and has his Chars in different factions. This change makes half of my chars useless. If you want to implement a change like that @zenimax please give us an Alliance Change Token for an affordable price. I don't see a reason why this is nessecary.

Explain why you need to play on three different sides during the course of a single campaign outside of jumping on whichever side is winning the map at that time of the day. Explain why with like 15 available character slots you can’t make more characters on the same Alliance. Explain why you can’t just play in one of the Campaigns that isn’t Faction locked with some of your characters.

You guys don’t want anything that upsets your routine changed yet everyone complains about how lopsided and imbalanced the three Alliances usually are. Well it’s because of the lack of a faction lock and the issue started when they got rid of it the first time.

Most people don't just jump to the "winning" side because winning is meaningless if you aren't in the leaderboards. And if you are jumping factions, you are never going to be in the leaderboards long enough to matter.

Some people have already built up all 15 of their characters under the current rule set that allows faction changing during a campaign. Meaning some have potentially 5 characters set up per alliance. So either they have to delete characters they may have had for years to start over or they can never PVP with those characters.

The non faction locked option is a 7 day campaign. I would think that current PVP campaign options would indicate that 7 day campaigns are not played in. Why,? The rewards are awful and the campaign length is far too short to be meaningful. And then the other non faction lock option is the Imperial City, which isn't even the same PVP as Cyrodil. So anyone saying just play there is already proving themselves to be unreliable.

From everything I have seen in game, and in the forums, the complaints are all coming from pro-faction lockers who refuse to play in the populated campaigns. Instead, these players play in Shor or Sotha where the campaign is rarely if ever pop-locked (Xbox NA for example). While Vivec is usually pop-locked and "switching to the winning side" just isn't effective.

So... you are wrong on all points.

I’m sorry but you don’t know what you’re talking about.

First, for the majority of players the top leaderboard is irrelevant because on PS4 NA in the 30 day Campaign your never going to get on it unless your in one of the couple of AP farming groups.

Second, for the majority of players, especially solo players and small groups, winning the Campaign might not be a huge deal to which side they play on but you better believe whichever Alliance is getting gated with all of their Scrolls taken is the side dropping a whole bar or more of players who either go join a Campaign like Shor or they jump on a different Alliance. And when one Alliance starts routinely winning back to back Campaigns people jump on the train. That’s why DC on PS4 NA ran the 30 day for a solid year and then AD did the year after.

Very rarely are Campaigns actually competitive past the first week because after that point people stop playing, change Campaigns, or swap Alliances. A faction lock is needed to keep players honest and to give them a reason to fight for the side they pick even if they are getting creamed.

People are more than capable of covering two different alliances across the No-CP to CP month campaigns. And they still have the week campaigns which offer faction flipping. Its complete nonsense to suggest that people cannot play characters.

This fights many of the negative issues of the faction flippers while leaving an option for faction flippers alive. Being loyal to an alliance now has an incrementally better reward by way of end of campaign rewards.

We haven't split the small PvP community enough:

    CP Vs no CP
BGS vs Cyrodiil Vs Imp City
    Faction lock Vs open
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Love thay you say I don't know what I am talking about only to completely repeat my first point. Leaderboards are meaningless. People aren't swapping factions to "win." Because it is meaningless.

Also, in actual pop locked campaigns, it is literally impossible to lose a bar from one faction that then jumps to another. Pop locked means the campaign is full from all alliances. The only place this happens are in under populated campaigns. Stop playing in underpopulated campaigns.

Most of the people parroting the claim that this is a good thing fail ro realize that this fixes nothing and will still result in huge population imbalances. The fact of the matter is many of us don't give a damn about campaign score. What I am concerned about is the fact I enjoy no CP open world, and that leaves me with a tough choice for Nuevo-Sotha. Do I play EP, and get stuck with 28 days of unemployed 5 stars breakfast emping each other and zerging trikeeps? Do I play DC, only to have stream team day cap and do their thing through prime time for a month? Do I play AD...eh..nevermind.

I'm just going to quit pvping in cyro as will countless others. time for the idiots who insisted everyone else be forced to play their way to discover the destructive results of their petulance.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Hmmmm they must see that a lot of people are not on board with this....

Have at least one 30-day campaign that isn't alliance locked! I'll play with my main alliance in the locked one and with my other scrubs in the other. I still like to PvP on my magblade that isn't my main alliance....
