But It will almost certainly be using AMD since they are cheaper and Sony/MS already have a relationship with them.
I'm not sure why you wouldn't just build your own AMD PC though. For like $1000-1500, you can build a rig many times more powerful than the PS5.

It’s an interview with Mark Cerny at Sony HQ with demos on a PS5 dev kit. Helps to read the actual link, maybe?

He literally says nothing in the interview. He just throws some marketing buzz words around. The rest of the article is speculation by Wired.
Both the Xbox Two (or whatever they call it) and PS5 will be running on some low/mid-end Zen 2 and Navi APU.

I've heard they were going to make them backwards compatible a while ago so I'm glad to hear more of the same good news. ESO has a strong presence on all platforms and PS4 is no exception. Keep it going Sony!

Console manufacturers getting rid of backwards compatibility was the biggest cash grab ever. It was just an excuse to sell you "re-mastered" versions of games you already own.

Pointless commentary that ignores 2/3 of the player base as well as the other 90% of the remaining third with terrible hardware. Keep this crap out of the thread please.

Ah yes, the "just build a PC argument "

What a salty little man, there's 0 reason to play ESO on PS - zero, nada, nope, none. PS should only be used for PS exclusives, it offers absolutely no benefits (it's not even anywhere near on par) over PC gaming.MLGProPlayer wrote: »That's nothing more than speculation.

Yes, do that. If you're gonna give 400-500 EUR for a PS, you can get a PC which outperforms it in every single aspect for that money.

I’ve played on console and PC extensively since beta and universal voice chat for every piece of content as well as plug and play simplicity is something you can’t just hand wave away.
Not salty at all, either. I just don’t see why something we should be celebrating as a community—more hardware for more members of the ESO community—needs to be immediately crapped up with PC master race memes. More saddened by the predictable responses to other people’s joy. Maybe examine your need to feel superior and/ or rude to others who are gladdened by the announcement of next generation hardware?

Number 4 is the biggest for me, I work on the boats (freighters, container ships and chemical/oil tanker ships) so I am gone for 6 months scattered throughout the year and being able to just take my PS with me is perfect. I cant imagine someone actually bringing a tower and a monitor just to game especially when I have to fly out to meet the ship wherever it is. You just cant bring that much luggage nor would you.I play on console because:
- I'm on a budget
- I have easy access to a vast, inexpensive library of kid-friendly games for my kids
- A controller that comes as standard equipment and can be mastered much easier sitting reclined on my couch than keybinds and mouse clicks (by both me and the kids)
- It's portable (vacations, day-trips, etc.)
- Don't have to worry about after-hours pc viewing habits infecting my gaming system
- I know when I finally completed a vet trial / vMA it was my skill and not some computer program telling me when to push the 'X' button or roll-dodge
- Voice chat
- Functional Temperamental voice chat
- Alternate uses (Netflix, Blu-Ray, DVD, etc)
So I'm always glad when backward compatibility is announced so when the time does come to upgrade I'm not leaving my entire game library in the wind.
