Amidst all the NB tears, let us remember that wardens have NEVER even been in the meta

Every patch some class cries about being nerfed.
The warden class launched on May 23rd, 2017. It had a 2-3% usage rate in endgame PvE content for the first 1.5 years. That jumped to 8% last year when the class was given minor toughness (still last place, by a country mile).
Nightblades have spent the entire last year at 35-40% usage and they are crying. At least other classes have experienced time in the meta. Wardens have known nothing but the bottom of the barrel for their entire existence.

Stam wardens are considered the 2nd best stam dps behind stamblades and are very popular for pvp
If anything mag wardens have been the bottom of the barrel for almost the entire time they existed4 -

Even after the nerf, they were meta in BGs.

✭✭✭I don't think it's particularly relevant talking about them being good in PVP, (if they in fact are), as if that is some kind of justification, or consolation, for them being sub-par in PVE.
Especially when the majority of players probably don't even PVP, anyway.
Even if they do, it's no good just being good in PVP, when you (also) need to be good (or, at least, adequate) in PVE.
Good games attempt to balance all classes, as far as possible; so, they are all relevant in endgame PVE.

Every single nerf to NB, in the past, players celebrated the end of NBs. Then a month goes by and players are back on the forums saying things like "Nerf NB".
I see no change in the future behavior of non NB players. One of our very smart NB players will find the new rotation and armor combination to put pain on non nb players. I have faith.

yet every Third BGs match is a bunch of immortal Earthgore Magdens, that makes you want to go delete, or retire to pve...

✭As a Mag Warden main i feel abused..
This class has had such an identity problem since launch - the community has had some great input and ideas on what this class should be and become but now there is a Necro class i fear that Warden will now and forever be .. Unfinished.
Things i would like to see changed are :
1 - Remove the hidden cast time from abilities that are "insta cast" (netch / tree ulti and more)
2 - PET SKINS!! more class identity ( for sorcs to )
3 - ICE - turn ICE into a dps tree and not a tanking tree. Why dose my ice warden have to use a lighting staff.. c'mon
4 - Cliff racer, revert the timing back to what it was.6 -

Beside most of the posts are just others gloating.
My stamblade will be just fine.
Surprise Attack - I use Rendering Slashes.
Incapacitating Strike - I use DBOS
Fear - finally they will hold still for the kill, might even slot it now.
Shadowy Disguise - no changes but I prefer slotting Deadly Cloak in it's place.

Try playing PvE as a warden.
I play 6 wardens in pve - one of each "flavor" on two accounts. They (and sorcs) are my go-to classes, since my mega-ping means having the pets is important to just staying alive.0 -

wardens were always the meta...they were bis beer holders...now they got nerfed...hard...cuz nb is taking their place...poor wardens...beer will never taste the same now

✭✭Frankly I was expecting way more tears than what we have right now.
The thing is... Everything that was wrong with Stamblade will still be the same. The nerf to Minor Berserk was a great one, however the compensation for the loss of the buff doesn't make any sense and is frankly pretty bad. The nerf to Surprise Attack doesn't solve the main problem with it: the Shadow skill line passives which grant you Major Resistance buffs upon using your spammable and which grant you extra health. And yet, Stamblades will do MUCH less damage solo, but still the same amount of damage in groups. I've said it lots of times, change Mark Target which is a crap skill that will never be worth slotting instead of murdering Surprise Attack's damage potential. A simple thing would have solved almost all the issues: moving Veiled Strike to Assassination and moving Blur to Shadow, along with modifications to Mark Target. Boom, there go all the problems. And Ambush also got WAAAY overbuffed.
I mean... Yeah. I'm just baffled by the combat team's decisions, they don't make much sense in regards to the actual problems with the class.@ Izaki #PCEU

✭✭I think magden dps in pve is a bit weak but it's not a really big deal unless you are in end game guild and score run , but stamden dps , warden healer and tank are pretty awesome , warden can fulfill so many roles in PVE content .
Warden is very strong in PVP too .
