As it was said earlier: a good player can make any build amazing. Every class (stam or mag) has some aspect about it that is annoyingly OP to a different class. It’s supposed to be the rock/paper/scissors of balance.

I don't want mdks nerfed at all, but I had to chime in as a magblade who doesn't use cloak.
How would you feel if I could reflect your light attacks, your flame lash, and your burning embers? Because DKs can reflect my light attacks, my primary spammable and my DoT.
So say whatever you want, but fighting a dk as a magblade is a lot harder than the other way around.

Every decent MMO (and successful MMO for PvP) has classes that can hard counted anther class. (Or in WoWs case specs and classes)
If you’re so worried about ONE class out of 5 (soon to be 6) classes, and you don’t wanna change classes, play a melee MagBlade. Not the best, but at least your spamable won’t be reflected.

TLDR; Every class has a build or class that counters it.

If there was really a counter system in place what’s the counter to a magdk?

I've beat many MagDK on my Stamplar lol, even when they are in dueling gear.
Mag Warden
Stam Warden aren't the best 1v1 class but have enough burst for 21k health and light armour DKs.
and they're about to get crapped on by Necromancer class as well.

Magplar.

It can purge all the dots, has enough passive healing to outheal magdk "burst", has no issues ripping magdk open with dots/channels even if dk tries to go on a block type defense, has option for major defile from Dark Flare (or Revert bash if Wings up 100%). Against a good magplar with a good stam sustain to handle the Fossilize on cooldown there is not much a magdk can do. Other than running away or dying.

Troll tanks are not counted, they do not kill anything either and can be done in any class.

When on my magplar, i like when see a Wings flapper jumping towards me.

Magplar isn't really a counter though because mag dk can root the magplar and side step jabs as well as reflect ranged abilities like clench, and can force a magplar into being a purge bot. So the match up is really balanced and can honestly go either way. Nothing really counters a mag dk it's probably the best melee class for 1v1. With only pet sorc being stronger for 1v1 right now.

Nah, my magplar setup has absolutely zero problems with any magdk setups, even if full duel spec on them. Not ending up on defense when play so aggressive that magdk just melts. Roots are no issues. Magdks honestly hit like a wet noodle, even with Spinners/BSW or anything. Side steps are not happening against my setup. Not using Clench. Got only 1 reflectable ability on my bars on current setup, and not using it obviously when Wings up. It is not needed to finish anyways.

Magplar imo has all the tools to finish magdk easily when just play really offensively and trusting on the hots to do their thing while taking care of business. Stamplar is the same, especially with defile/bleeds setup.

Not saying magdk is weak, but after years of playing with it (and with all the classes/specs against it) knowing very well its strenghts and weaknesses.. its better to always go aggressive against it. On a magplar.. what magdk has against you? Like 2-3k whips and 4-5k leaps.. and if they do more, they are squishy and melt after 1 combo to beam execute.
