It really wouldn't.
I had to stop playing my human female, as the changes were so bizarre.
I would say this is a good idea, if it was just very carefully smoothing out the lumps and dents in the model.
Actually, I think you could do slightly more than that, as I do not think the current models are perfect, by any means.
For example, Bosmer females have weirdly shaped noses, which are flatter (less tip-tilted - more horizontal) at the bottom than the males' (it's normally the other way around, in nature) and which look different when viewed from each side.
But, given Blizzard's idea of an upgrade (human females...), I'm now far more cautious about any actual changes.
Even though I'm not 100% happy with the way my main looks, I took a lot of time trying to make her look, at least somewhere approaching, the way I wanted her to look.
It might be OK, if the person doing it was highly competent, but if not...

Also updating the older skins can have backlash responses for those who actually do like them the way they are, its easier to just have something that goes over the character than screw something up.

In that case, Zeni would probably provide the players a free Appearance Token.
Just like they offered Name change and Race change tokens after the race passive changes

We'll just have to wait for the map to filled out more before they go over the old areas
More polygons in a certain part of the torso too.
@Nemesis7884
I agree that re-vamping the old areas would in the long run help the game especially when new players come into the game
Solstheim is too small to be a chapter
It will probably be a quarter DLC following a Chapter in Skyrim
