I don’t think is like this anymore I do my crafting dailies on 15 characters and I do them all in one zone best crafting stations with a horse trainer next to daily turn in and I see the same people afk/banking on all 15 characters all of my guys are EP if that changes anything.

I turned all my add-ons off, and moved the folder.
I abandoned all quests on all characters but the main quest.
Made no difference to log-in time or going through wayshrines.
What else are we in control of that we could do on our end to fix the issues?

I cant recall one. So ....
DaveMoeDee wrote: »I said nothing about log-in time. I am talking about logging off. Changing characters requires logging off and then logging on to a new character. It takes quite a while to log off of a character and get to the character select screen. The advantage of what the OP is asking would be removing the logout time, but we don't actually know if that would be removed with the direct character swap.
My guess is that there would be an improvement by removing the trip to the login screen.

Oposite.
Pls link 2 other posts/any game/ outside this one.
Whats the reason to be able to swap ingame ? To save 2 clicks and 1/2 sec loading time ? Like cmoon.
tourerttrwb17_ESO wrote: »I'd be just happy if it took as long as it takes now. Just skip actual selection of a different toon midway. Say, you pick what toon you want to switch to, start the process and alt+tab to watch youtube. 5 minutes later you alt tab again - and you are in game on the right toon. Now, however, i need to interrupt my youtube half way to pick what toon i need to load.

It's probably mostly a matter of convention. Login screens where you can see your characters is an MMO thing. Quick swapping directly to other characters is not a feature I've seen in any MMO. Only in MUDs.darthgummibear_ESO wrote: »This wouldn't even be an issue if the loading times weren't so ridiculous.
A good chunk of that is addons. I've tested that.
Unfortunately the game is nigh unplayable without them is not like they're actually optional.
More to the point, it wouldn't be an issue if things like horse feeding were account wide instead of character bound, and a big chunk of the game didn't boil down to cycling through alts doing crafting writs / collecting materials from mail every day.
The delay in logging out is the save process behind the scenes, not loading the character select screen. So a direct log to another character won't save any time there.
Also, what about those times when you want to go to character select like to use a Race or Name Change Torken or Create or Delete a character.
Then, how do you propose to select another character if you are not at the Character Select screen? Only have two characters?

How do you know it wouldn't save any time at all? They still have to load stuff for the character screen itself and that takes time. Also, what about those times when you want to go to character select like to use a Race or Name Change Torken or Create or Delete a character.
Allow going to the character screen when desired. How often does that happen in reality though, compared to swapping characters? Think this through a bit. Then, how do you propose to select another character if you are not at the Character Select screen? Only have two characters?
Give a list of characters you can swap/relogin to. It would be empty if you didn't have any. It would have 1 shown if you only had 1. This is not hard.
