Where do inert eggs drop? (Monster trophy achievement)?

According to my info they should drop from giant snakes - let me tell you, i have been killing these snakes for about 5 hours now over the course of 2 days - no egg...i am getting tired of this...?

I got the inert egg in Reapers March. There's a location with a lot of giant snakes (can't remember the name). Sorry I can't be more help than that. When I get ingame, I will try to find the location and name.

Never had much luck with extended grinding of trophy farming. Not sure of any trick to it.

yeah i know the location - this is where i have been killing snakes for 5 hours...the drop rates are just insane

I got that and the Lamia one from doing runs of Arx Corinium (sp?). Loads of them and you're guaranteed drops with each mob.

Yeah, it was in Thormar in southern Reapers March. Guess I had better rng than you're having. It just took me about an hour or so of killing snakes.

I got 96% of all PVE Achievements before housing and in that time had only finished 1 of those trophy achievements. It is partly the reason I dont do achievements anymore / dont care about trying to complete achievements anymore.

The drop rate is so insanely low that its not worth doing imo.

After farming like 10k mobs for a certain drop and not getting it... yea no thanks thats dumb.

Im sorry but are we sure these eggs still drop from any giant snakes or is there a bug? I have been farming them probably more by now then all other animals combined....usually i get a trophy within 2h of farming - these i have been killing for a couple days now

Sorry, I phrased that badly. You're guaranteed to get items with every mob, which means your chances of getting the trophy are higher. Dungeons in general are good for those ones because you get large numbers of the same monster. As for snakes, all I can think of is the Serpent Mother's Den in Auridon, there's about 7 of the in and around there plus the WB.

They're just rare. I've been hunting bears, killed about 100+ and no Bear Claw. Just RNG.

Pretty sure i got mine from either Arx Corinium or .. uh what's it called.. Tempest Island!
but yeh, Thormar is a common site as well, but i find dungeons more fun than zone farming..

Lol 100...i am faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar past 100 snakes by now....more like 500 after 3×3-4h farming

EDIT: The drop rates for the creature collectibles are kinda absurd. Dungeons are a better source, but it's not like there's a good place to farm these achievements.

Arx Corinium is where I got mine. You have the bonus of it dropping the mask motif on vet this month, so there will be loads of people playing it and the possibility of a great drop even if you don’t get the egg.

You must have an exceptional ability to read people since you can by just seeing my comment on a forum read out that I think I'm amazingly smart. How is it even snarky? I just gave you a guide to not only a good grinding spot for Lamias but other monster trophies as well, as maybe you might have some other left than the one you are focusing on, or someone else coming into this thread might find it useful. I've gotten both the egg and the Lamia trophy in Arx.

Some of these can be a pain. I've never dropped a Storm or Frost atro trophie, for example. And I got the harpy trophy on two "wrong" characters before I got it on my main. It is still a running joke in my guild.

I found this post some time ago when working on achievements. Some do take forever to drop.

My guess is the game wants to keep you farming long enough to gather enough mats to lower the price of Dreugh Wax for the rest of us. Thank you!

These trophies achievements have been really "weird" to me: I've been everywhere in Tamriel and done almost everything this game has to offer with my main char and despite that, despite the fact that I play this for more than 3 years, there are some trophies that purely and simply just don't drop to me... Drop rate of some items is just horrifyingly awful tbh.

Some of them are incredibly rare. It's not just the egg either, there are many that will take literal days to drop. Not worth the time unless you're a dedicated achievement hunter.

I got Bear Claw from Direfrost Keep. I think dungeon mobs have a better chance of dropping these trophies than overland mobs. At least, it seems that way for me.

Want to get a Monster Trophy drop? Just load up an alt that you are not farming these on, will never farm these on, even better if it is an inventory mule you will never play. You will get the trophy in less than 10 kills.

My main, who I want all achieves on, killed mudcrabs for four and a half years and didn't have the Polished Shell Shard, yet. Took a new alt, who doesn't care about achieves, to Cyrodiil to fish and she killed 3 mudcrabs and got the PSS. So I can vouch for Nestor's statement being absolutely sad but true!

I always seem to get these stupid trophy items on my alts when I take them out instead of on my main when I'm farming for them. Ugh, RNG hates me. I need them on my main! The achieve is not account wide LOL. Stop giving them to my alts please and thanks.

There was a time when you could trade the trophies between characters. Then some people complained they were not getting the achievements because they did not use the trophy. ZOS solution was to make the Trophies character bound.

Please make these so that we can trade to alts again.
