I have farmed three giant clams and got nothing. I have to pay for ingredients.
If you don't want to pay for spell pots, learn alchemy and make your own.
Whiney PvPers that want everything handed to them on a plate...

Spell Power pots are used most in PvE and even when crafting them a single stack of cornflower can cost 74-80k gold. I personally do not use those pots and neither do the vast majority of PvPers.
But please, continue blaming everything on "Whiney PvPers"

Hint: 40k tv = 3 pearls, more or less. 40k tv = 3 bosses (14.4k*3 = 43.2K), thats about 7 min of farming(bosses respawn every 15 min, 6 bosses) (not counting capping flags and holding them).
Honestly, this tells you how many more stamina players there are than magicka players, or at least, how many more min-maxers there are on the stamina side of the coin.

I got 3 pearl from 75 satchels last week... not the best droprate

You are an RNG God. This is bordering on the fabled streamer loot. Pray ZOS doesn't ever have to look at your account or something might mysteriously get changed.

Because everyone is using aeterium take away.
I don’t think zeni gives much of a crap about market price - because this isn’t a market merchant sim game.

That's great.
Except zos recently nerfed the drop rate for beetle skuttle to around 1 peice in ten kills.
You need 3 peices for each process.
That's around 20 minutes GamePlay for us non-botters, to make one batch of four DCT potions.
Several hours to make a batch of 50.
That's after:
I expend skill points on alchemy passive
I research to the right level for the recipe
I buy the recipe.
Then I can make this stuff.
Then you complain that it costs too much.
Im glad that my effort is appreciated.

Then why bother bringing them into the discussion?
The fact remains: it takes TIME and EFFORT to farm materials and to research skills and buy recipes.
Just so I can improve your performance.
You still aren't happy.
Ergo: a whinger.
*** off then you ungrateful ***

Um. You realize that nobody is blaming crafters, right? Prices of crafted items are reflective of the material costs. The problem is with the drop rate of the ingredients in question. If you had bothered to read the posts in this thread, it's about the difficulty of acquiring MOP.
Yet somehow you construe it as an attack on you and then proceed to flame people in the thread.
(And to the person suggestion that people farm MOP--this is not a solution that scales well; most of the times when I do a MOP loop, I find that virtually all the nodes are gone, most likely because other people are running the loop too. Same thing to the person suggesting Tel Var farming--TV farming works when you are the only person farming. Once more people farm, the stone yield drops substantially. Once ZOS does the IC unification so that there's just one IC instead of separate ICs per campaign, farming alchemy in IC will be much harder.)

I brought them up because they fall under the same issue of certain items being too expensive for a large portion of players whether its because of high demand, low supply or both.
Nobody is blaming crafters or farmers, in fact I have not even considered the contribution of such players. I am simply stating that some things have become way too expensive for many players to sustain and therefore should be more easily acquired, especially in the case of Pearls.
Thank you as ever for your constructive insults comments.
I can make the take away broth but I don't because mother of pearl is too rare and expensive.
I'll stick with dubious.
Even if they nerfed the drop of beetle scuttle to 1 in 10, it's still easier to farm.

I think you're assuming people with an issue are only PvPers. Most of the population actually do both.
