Just to confirm - the Morrowind Chapter includes the Warden. If you see any packages (like Elsweyr) that includes this in its description, you will get both the Zone DLC and the Warden Class.

@Keras Notice however that only the "digital game" includes Morrowind & Summerset chapters, not the upgrade. So likely you'd not be able to continue using the same account/characters if you gain warden this route!

@Tevalaur I already wondered about that. But is that so, that the digital Standard Edition isn't compatible with an exisiting account? I assumed it is compatible. Even if I would have to download a new digital version of the game to play, all this would necessarily still be tied to my XBL account and my exisiting ESO account and characters, wouldn't it? Otherwise, I would pay just 60€ for the base game and the 3 chapters as a completely new player, and easy over 100€ for the 3 chapters combined as an existing player (+ having paid full price for Tamriel Unlimited on release).

Could anyone confirm that I can safely preorder Elsweyr Standard Edition (not the upgrade version!) and just play it on my already existing account?

pretty sure ya cant. in fact, when logged in if you try, it says "you do not qualify for this product."

Also you cant count the money you've already payed for an existing account when comparing prices. because you've been able to play till now while a new player would not have that much experience with the game, or the loot, or the toons ect.

sorry, this is a case where no you can't have it both ways.

to an existing account, you can buy the digital summerset upgrade and elsweyr digital upgrade and with eso+ you get morrowind. you can buy the warden with the crowns you get from eso+

A new account can buy the standard edition which has morrowind, the warden and summerset in it. and then add the elsweyr digital upgrade, or buy the elsweyr standard edition for basically the same price and get the same stuff.

    hope this clears it up?

Well, if someone owns the base game and the Morrowind chapter already, buying the Elsweyr Digital Upgrade (EUR 39.99) and the Summerset Digital Upgrade (EUR 19.99) actually costs the same as the Digital Elsweyr Standard Edition package containing Morrowind and Summerset (EUR 59.99).

In case you only own the "old" base game without Morrowind here and you have a Steam account without ESO, you can buy the Digital Elsweyr Standard Edition package on Steam, just be sure to link the Steam account to the ESO account before you do so. It also works the other way round - if you have the "old" base game without Morrowind on Steam and your Steam account is linked, you can buy the Digital Elsweyr Standard Edition package here.

Edit: One more thing about Steam - as long as your Steam account is linked, you can always remove ESO from your Steam Library (don't worry, your account data is stored here, not on Steam and your account knows what you have). This allows you to make a fresh ESO purchase on Steam. Your ESO account will simply add the things you didn't have before.

    I have ESO+.
Do I automatically get access to Elsweyr and the Necromancer class?
Or, do I have access to Elsweyr, but need to (and can) buy the Necromancer class separately?
Or, do I have to buy the Elsweyr pack in order to get the Necromancer class?

The Morrowind chapter includes the Morrowind DLC (Vvardenfell zone) and the Warden class.

That is why it is still called "chapter".

Morrowind which you get via preordering Elsweyr doesn't contain the Warden class.

Morrowind and the Warden class have been separated, Morrowind is considered a DLC now and not counted as a Chapter anymore. The only Chapter at the moment is Summerset up until the moment Elsweyr gets released, then it will become a DLC as well (doesn't mean you get Morrowind and Summerset content by subscribing to ESO+).

If you buy the retail version of Morrowind you still get the Warden class, that's how I did it two months ago when I changed to Xbox. Otherwise the Warden class must be purchased in the Crown Store.

Just curious. Are you basing this on experience, or are you just trying to reason it out in your head and then posting that?

Because I can easily reason that when it says 'Morrowind included,' it means that it includes a key to Morrowind that is equivalent to getting the chapter. It doesn't matter if they separated Morrowind in the crown store. Buying chapters does not involved the crown store. It involves keys that get added to your account.

Even if Morrowind is now a 'crown store DLC,' a key to the Morrowind chapter is still a key to the Morrowind chapter. If that is what is being bundled, then they get the Warden class.

So don't present an answer as authoritative unless you know it is the case.

Older "Chapters", which we are told don't count as DLC (for ESO+), magically become "DLC" and are included in ESO+ once a new chapter comes out. The difference is that they removed the selling feature of the "chapter" and put it on the Crown store.

When Elsweyr comes out, I assume the Summerset "Chapter" will become DLC, and the Jewelry crafting feature will be a Crown store purchase.

Well, it's a huge problem if all the player community gets are assumptions.

The 'Standard Edition' of Elsweyr gets promoted as including the Morrowind and Summerset chapters. When I go on the official ESO site and look at the content of the Morrowind and Summerset chapters, I get told about features like "Craft your own jewelry" and "Become the warden". The natural conclusion would be that I get full access to everything Morrowind and Summerset have to offer, including the Warden class and jewelry crafting.

I wish ZOS would give unmistakable information about the content I get if they want me to pay them money.

as far as i know - if you buy a physical or digital edition that includes the chapters as part of the purchase and does NOT specify "with ESO+) then - yes you get your warden included. if you buy morrowind via crown store? warden is sold separately.
