I have to disagree. There are at least 5 or 6 threads on the bug now. This thread alone has 8,000+ views. Many people do not bother even coming to the official forums. Raapnaap✭✭Stuck here as well, I got nothing left to do. Cyrodiil is also bugged and we can't join it (endless loading screen), meaning I got entirely nothing to do besides grind mobs... Which isn't exactly fun.
This one needs to be hotfixed ASAP, primetime or not. This is the one and only un-skippable quest in the game that locks out a massive amount of content. If this isn't on the top of the developer priority list, then they got their priority list wrong.
The amount of people waiting around the broken NPC and rants in /zone is increasing by the hour.0 -

I want to give zenimax all the benefit of the doubt, I honestly do, but this is bordering on the absurd. The entire "end game" is cut off for a significant portion of their subscriber base and all we get is "yeah, we're looking at it". More and more players are piling up at this choke point. When i first encountered this bug, I assumed it would be fixed in rapid fashion, as it is a gating issue that would easily be Immediate Priority for any development group, yet here i stand, 3 days later, still trying to talk to that npc.
I have been attempting to get vet xp in Cyrodiil (where, btw, im sure I am taking a campaign slot that would be better given to someone who actually WANTED to be there and was taking an active role in the fighting) but that is slow, unpleasant and generally a poor, poor excuse for end game content.
Zenimax, for the love of God, do something, post an announcement, let us know if we're looking at weeks of this nonsense.0 -

Additional Information: There were a couple rumored work arounds on the german forums (im told) that I tried. It was various combinations of grouping with someone, 1 person up north talking to the king, while the other stand near the groundskeeper in hopes of 'talking to the king and mage' forcing the quest to update for the other player. None of it worked.
I'm with the angry masses, to be sure (canceled sub, notified bank to watch that pending charge like a hawk) but has anyone found anything or heard of anyone that overcame this bug? I only assume its a game crippling/progress stopping bug, but if anyone has overcome this, maybe they can give us some insight to a potential work around, cause otherwise we are waiting for ZOS and it seems foolish to place hope there for meaningful support in this (according to ZOS, they had people working through the weekend on this, so a week's worth of effort todate).
My approach to this is now to burn off the free game time here and there, dispute the pending sub charge if they collect on this, and once the released game gets patched, ill see if the taste left in my mouth over all this is too bitter to warrant coming back. Hopefully ZOS doesn't consume all my 30 day grace time getting around to a fix so I can enjoy this game and stop that damn Daedric Prince.Edited by donzeacub17_ESO on April 9, 2014 7:42PM0 -

you must be new to the mmo genre, no mmo is perfect this early. This bug is very annoying and should have been fixed by now but its whats expected. Il take this time to go get some fresh air after playing non-stop for about a week.

Well everytime i report this bug their robot Brian tells me the same *** all the time.
I will never ever pay anything anymore for this game. They simply dont deserve money for the game in the current state.
@Kuroneko, Im not new to the MMO genre, played several games from their beta-stage, from 9dragons, Rift, Aion, GW2, Wildstar and this game and i can tell you that a launch wasnt as bad as this one is. The way they deal with this issue is very bad, the fact alone that they need to take the server down for 4 hours everytime just to apply a patch is very bad.
The bugs that are currently in te game makes it feel that we are playing a payed beta test. And especially in this case, its a quest that make you progress from the south side of Coldharbour onto the nort side of Coldharbour, so in other words people are just stuck standing around a NPC.

Were you in the beta for eso? The game is much more polished now than it was in beta. and I agree with you that there are tonnes of bugs that need to be fixed ( especially in Coldharbor ) hoping it all gets fixed soon. But I don't plan on straight up quitting the game because of bugs that will get fixed eventually0 -

Blocked progression is the worst kind of content there is in a game, and thats what they did here, they blocked a whole zone by shielding it using a questline, the quest or NPC bugged out so now you are paying for wich progression again?
I played beta hoping that they straighten this game out, they clearly failed.
