Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

The search for PvE groups/guilds frustrates me

If everywhere you go smells like poo.. maybe it's time to check your own shoes.

I think you should start doing more than 15k dps THEN start thinking about a trials guild. Also, calling Liofa one of the best players in eso incompetent is just.... Wow

Okay. Got any recommendations how to get it higher on single-target?

Only thing I'm really interested in is dungeons.

Don't know who Liofa is, but first impressions tell me that he/she is an incompetent and terrible. And no amount of titles of "Best player in ESO" will convince me otherwise.

Check Alcasts site for builds ;)

And detailed instructions on rotation and videos showing it in action.

I agree Xynodes site is a royal pain the but to read, but I still try because the info is useful to me.

The problem with people asking in in guild chat "hey what gear should I use on my xyz", is it often turns into a 30 minute typing session that I sometimes just don't have time for when i'm getting ready for a trial or trying to get something else done

So, after a bit of pondering, I have come to a realization that may not surprise anyone, but has kind of surprised me.

The game... Makes me honestly feel miserable trying to play it, if I consider the game's design and how PvE seems to have all these layered rules on top of everything in order to "Do Below Average in the form of 40k". I guess I could just not try to get in to endgame PvE, but it's the only thing that actually makes me interested in any MMO.

It would kind of explain why I have such a scornful resentful attitude in this thread. Which leads to beg the question of "What should I do if I feel miserable trying to play the game?"

When I shared this with another player, the advice given was to not play ESO, but I find it'd be a waste as I still have a subscription running, and I do like the game, but... I just can't help but feel absolutely miserable.

Sincerely have no idea what to do now....

Why not TRY to use the advice you've been given, builds from sites people have given you? Queue for some normal stuff with PUGs and see how you do with the builds?

That's unfortunate. I absolutely love doing the vet DLC dungeons, they're my favorite content in the game.

Things to do if this game makes you miserable; go to the gym, take a walk, go fishing, paint, compose music, read, volunteer at an animal shelter, get a part time job, quit your part time job and plant a garden, its a pretty long list.

You could also PLAY the game. Be an asset to your team. Give people a reason to want you on their team. The rest will work itself out. If that's a hurdle, work on that first, its more important.

I don't believe that anyone in this thread said that 40k DPS was "below average." I believe the quote was more along the lines of 30k wasn't good. 40k DPS is enough (or more) to do anything you want to do, except beat a guy with 41k.

This is a good post, and I’m with you sometimes. I’ve adapted somewhat because I am a TES fan, but I’m not really a fan of eso combat. Much prefer something like the old dragon age origins in terms of action rpg combat. Not ani canceling “press three buttons in one second” rhythm game type stuff. I kind of like rhythm games, but I don’t want to play one while I’m also trying to pay attention to the mechanics of a particular fight. I also loved borderlands 2 combat, where a build was easy and copying it was easy because it was just a matter of your gear and your skill points. The rest was a matter of practice, of learning the different enemies, their movement, their tells, kill priorities...so that you could stay alive. So there was a big skill gap in terms of what kind of content different players could could clear with the exact same build, but not a big disparity in dps at all.

ESO is the only game I’ve played where people can play 1000s of hours and still have a low fraction of the max possible dps that end game content is designed for. And there is no easy way to convey what needs to be done to achieve high dps. Certainly, the game itself does not do it. That is frustrating. That’s not really on the eso community, that’s on the game design. I think zos has some awareness of this. I mean, end game players usually want new dungeon packs, right? But in this game, most players are meh about them. A large portion would rather not have them at all. Why? Because of this dps gap issue and the fact that only a very small percentage of players can reach max.

I just recently got to 45k single target self-buffed. Not max, but good enough. And I think about what it took me to get there, all the time practicing stupid rhythm game key presses...yeah, I get a little bummed. It's not fun, really. But so much of the rest of the game is fun, so I try to just adapt.

This guy had been booted and banned out of nearly every large and active rp guild as well.
Everything was wrong, noone did what he wanted and was shocked people weren't falling over themselves to rp with him. Such toxic and hateful pm's from the guy....
    *eye roll*
The problem ain't the websites or the groups or the lack of help or everyone else being a big.meanie to poor him.
If we took all the supposed cancer builds and exploits, dusted them with a fine layer of the worst macros in cyro? Would be a pale second place in comparison.
If it has a tail it is meant to be eaten.

    Don't even Kalgert.

You think the RP community doesn't talk to each other about problem people? That the admins and leaders aren't helping each other out and have contact?

Pass around screen shots for records and backup?
We like to know where and who the problems are. Otherwise the problem people just ruin our cheesy fun rp times.

I honestly hope you are a troll and this is all some stupid stupid bait game. Cause otherwise you have got to be hands down, one of the unhappiest people out there.
    And that's kinda sad.

Oh. Wow. This has been a learning experience. I'm not sure what disturbs me more-- the new revelations or the knowledge that RP guilds operate like secret societies :D Think I'm taking a break from the forums for a couple of days, and just enjoying some nice solo questing around Shadowfen. By myself. All alone.

What a strange species we humans are :D

We get some crazy nutty people at times.
Some of them make rounds and go from one group to another.
