Okay. Got any recommendations how to get it higher on single-target?
Only thing I'm really interested in is dungeons.
Don't know who Liofa is, but first impressions tell me that he/she is an incompetent and terrible. And no amount of titles of "Best player in ESO" will convince me otherwise.
Seriously, why would anyone retype for you what those that have been recommended have already taken the time to write or record for you (and others)?
I honestly don't know if you're trolling at this point, or if you truly believe what you're saying.

Take the feedback to the people who actually have control over the various media. Or, in the case of bad site design, use extensions and add-ons to strip the horrible layout away with a single click of a button.
Did also say that I could copy the text, trim a bit of needless detail, and just try to get around that. Though I am still in a state of feeling fairly bitter about the prospect, so I'll need a bit of time to shimmer down before indulging a look at the guides.
Should also mention what kind of "Negative feedback" it is. It isn't me thrashing the guildies in question, but more of a "Ugh, can you recommend me a website that doesn't look terrible?". Doesn't sound too unreasonable if you ask me.
Although for one guild it was more like me asking for advice, only getting links to Xynode, me saying "All I did was ask for advice, sorry if that is too tall of a thing to ask for" after a bit of a back-and-forth with my stance about them just linking me a website, guild leader getting a bit rude, me being rude in return, only to get a boot. Though someone then told me later that it was him and his "Zany humor", but let's be honest, someone telling you to "Take the advice and shut the *** up" does not sound humorous nor zany.
I would also like to mention to the folks here who are trying to have a go at me, that you're not exactly successful in your attempts of guilt-tripping me or "Trying to show the error of my ways" with the fairly condescending remarks that some people have expressed (I still like how someone said that I "Must be a nightmare to deal with", really charming). If anything, I just feel like doubling down on my stance because frankly... It's not encouraging me to change my mind when someone decides to call me a "Lost cause" or whatever, just because I happen to express a harsh opinion that a website looks terrible, gave me a bad impression, thus making me conclude that the information provided is not worth the time.
Besides, I prefer asking other players what they suggest or what they run with, as I find players to be more reliable than some guide. If players tell me "Go read a guide", then they are probably people who can't be relied upon. Simple as that.
I imagined this was the closest to a forum section outside of Looking For Group to vent some sorrow in me, so I am posting this here.
So I am getting pretty frustrated at this point. All the PvE guilds I've been in have either booted me out for reasons I don't wish to dwell in, or I left due to membership being really really low, and it's starting to get on my nerves a bit.
I'm interested in PvE, and thus far the only way I can get in to it is via pugs in Craglorn, or through the LFG, both of which are not that ideal or stable.
Granted, I am having troubles mainly because I have fairly negative reactions whenever someone suggests going to Insert guide website here whenever I ask "Hey, what do you suggest for Current character I'm playing", but even then I didn't think it'd be so unreasonably difficult to find a place to settle down in and... You know. Do dungeons and shizz.
Like at the moment I wish to get the Burning Spellweave set for my Dunmer DK, as I'd like to have it on hand if I wish to switch back to being a Fire Mage, and yet I either have to sit around for many minutes waiting for the LFG to pop, or pester zone chat for many minutes until giving up.
What in the Eight Divines am I supposed to do!?
As a Guild Master, I wouldn't even consider taking a player to my guild if they can't be bothered to read a guide online because the design looks bad. These guides are free. The creator doesn't have to make it look good. The purpose is to teach, not give your eyes something to enjoy looking at. A guilds purpose is to get better together and progress as a team. No wonder you are having troubles finding a guild, knowing that you refuse to read free information that can help you get better at the game and be more useful to the guild you want to get in.
Well. Good thing I have no interest in joining you, if that is your attitude.
So you are saying that a website can have whatever look it wants, as long as it is informative? What? For Xynode I can't even properly read the blue text due to the background, but hey, who cares, it is an informative piece so it's okay by your logic.
Honestly I should consider just copy-pasting the text, edit it around so it will be more pleasant and less bloated to read through.
I am more than willing to listen to suggestions from guild members, but I don't know what is more unhelpful. Someone merely siggesting a website, or someone disregarding comfort when it comes to reading stuff.
Actually, I'll just say it. You sound incompetent and terrible if you don't care for people's reading comfort, and should not lead guilds.

SNIPPED
I can't imagine myself wanting to use voice communication with pugs. Have a hard time wanting to use it in general really.
But I must admit, I haven't thought about asking in pugs for any guild invites. I'll give that a try next time I'm running through a Trial in a pug.

First one-- yep, your "ugh" comment is absolutely negative feedback. One, it gives the person who offered you advice a helping of ingratitude for taking the time to share information with you. Two, you're indirectly insulting their aesthetic sense. Three, you sound exceptionally picky, as if a mere pleb such as you seem to imply they are is incapable of satisfying your needs to your satisfaction. If I'd been on the receiving end, I'd never offer you information again.
The second one, people shared links to a site with you that they found helpful. Maybe they took their builds specifically from that site, so they had nothing else to offer you. Thats all I have to say, thats some meta trolling *** going on here.
I really really really really hope you are not for real.
10/10 trolling or delusion (choose one).
Beggars cant be choosers
Maybe you should get off your high horse, swallow your pride, and just do your research
That's honestly your excuse for not getting better as a pve player? Oh the website looks ugly, I can't read and build my character properly cause I was blinded
Geez, no wonder you cant find a good guild. If i heard that excuse I wouldnt run anything with you either, you're just looking for free carries
Whatever you say, sugar-pie.
I don't want "Carries". I do however wish to do PvE. And I am willing to listen to people's advice... Hear that: Advice. So that means people who probably run with several builds recommending what they run with. Nothing bad about that.
And it ain't really an excuse. Here is an example: If someone were to post a recipe for something you'd want to make, and decided to make the background blue, and the text green, would you find it hard to read?
If yes, then don't give me a hard time for not wanting to sit through a website that is designed terribly.
greenmachine wrote: »Obvious troll is obvious, but there might be some people reading this thread and thinking "I want to experience part of the game and I'm afraid I won't be able to improve to the point where I can achieve this."
To those players, look at how many in the community came rushing to this troll's aid. Community ambassadors, YouTube streamers, end-game guild leaders, etc.
If you are truly open to advice, willing to do the modicum of research that anybody you are asking for help has already done, and are gracious and not eager to poo-poo on every bit of help that people are offering you, then the community will fall all over itself to help you.
Forum warriors get a bad rep for being toxic, but this is a good example of how happy to help the majority of this community really is.
It honestly wouldn't be so bad, if they would at least name names, as opposed to say "Look at this website lul". Would help if there were at least sites that were pleasing to the eye, or were formatted in a way that could provide decent information.
For example, take a look at these three screenshots. One is Icyveins, a WoW related website for guides and such, and the other is Xynode, an ESO related website for guides. For the sake of it, let's throw in Alcast as well as I too have qualms with it. Tell me, which of the three would you find more pleasing to look at, and more informative without trying to bloat the guide with needless details?
If you ask me, Xynode just fails because the background interferes with the text, the guide is also bloated with text, and I dare you to try and read the blue text without feeling like punching the person writing the guide for being dishonorable. Alcast, on a second look, doesn't look too bad, though the background doesn't do it any favors, as it looks really lifeless and depressing, and I kinda feel a little irked with how it offloads a bunch of details all over the place. Icyveins has a blue background which helps make it look a bit more lively, and the information is fairly well laid out. Also a new thing I haven't seen before, is that there are pages to the guides, so you don't end up reading a massive block that you have to jump through in order to find what you're looking for.
Ultimately, I wish to ask is: Send me a link to a website that doesn't look terrible, and I'll be less inclined to a passive aggressive reaction and actually consider shifting through it.

Yeah, definitely needs serious time in retyping an entire catalog of text.
Oh, and @greenmachine , you may think many people are being helpful here... I honestly found only two, three, up to at least five people who did chime in with something helpful. For the most part, I find the posts... Not as helpful.

If you think a build is just what gear you're wearing, you have a serious misunderstanding of how the nuances of a build work. No, not even nuances. The bare basics.
A build consists of, at its core, 1) gear, 2) skills, and 3) rotation. That response only covers one part of a build. And arguably, it is one of the smaller components that contribute to the overall success of the build. So just answering "use this set and that set" is literally giving you only 10 to 15 percent of the build itself. The other 85 to 90 percent of the build is entirely missing.
To go into an entire build would take, at the very least, 15 minutes through a video. Through what is essentially "live help"? Easily over an hour. My build videos cover everything you would need to know about the build, including a brief discussion on rotation and a parse so you can visually see the rotation at work. Most of those end up around 25 to 35 minutes long. And I'm not answering or clearing up any questions in these videos.
So it would take people longer to fully answer your question in text chat, since they not only have to type it out, but also answer and clarify any questions and details, change their responses based on what you want, etc.
You are being entirely unreasonable by refusing to use websites or videos that people direct you to. Oftentimes, these guides will cover everything you need to know and those creators explain the details in a better way than the people you are asking. What you are literally asking for is for information to be presented to you in one specific manner and completely blowing off anybody who presents it otherwise. This is entirely unreasonable and not conducive if you want to improve and join new guilds.
I imagined this was the closest to a forum section outside of Looking For Group to vent some sorrow in me, so I am posting this here.

Yes, the suggestion is to check out alcast, xynode, T3easiangod, etc... but you have already been told this and for some reason have firmly decided it is beneath you.

It’s even a simpler matter than installing a browser extension. Just select the text you want to read with your mouse. Instant contrast. I started on the internet during the geocities heyday, so don’t talk to me about difficult to read web sites. Yes, get off my lawn and all that. You can get the information you need and still survive to tell the tale, trust me.

Don't know myself sometimes, honestly. All I know is that I am expressing my feelings (Although not the most positive of feelings, as I am not given any reason to have a good impression).
