I had the same problem

If you didn't understand what i said, to reset the character is to travel to a wayshrine manually. To do this, follow the steps below:
Open the Map up by pressing the [M] key.
Once the Map appears, look for Quests on the right-hand side.
Click on the map pin icon on the list of icons at the top.
Select a desired destination.
The map of that area should appear, and all discovered wayshrines in that region should be visible.
Click on a wayshrine to return to that region. This will have a gold cost. Then just go back to the habourage to redo the quest

hmm, he should attack you at around 10% health and below, dont block him or w/e, and he will grab you & the quest should be complete then.

It worked for me when he was at 9%, I stopped attacking him and then a final cut scene happened.

man, everywhere I look for info on this bug they're talking about the end of the fight, I've tried the quest 4 times now and i can't even get to the fight

lord butterfingers here keeps pickling me up at the start of the fight and dropping me for instagib and then when i revive he just stands there and i can't fight him when i try relogging he becomes the lord of affection and he just sticks in a loop of roaring in my face while holding me

That I have to agree, it's pathetic how many game-breaking scripting bugs there are in this game, and still there two months after release.

Hey guys, same problem here.

I've attempted this quest about 7 times now, and every time I get past the superman part blasting through walls and I approach Mr. Bal, he indefinitely picks me up; or does so and then drops me to my doom/bugged fate. This is posted left and right, so a lot of us are stuck. But I'm at that point where if I want to keep playing the game, I might as well remake a new character because my main is stuck at V1 and unable to even "attempt" the fight with Molag Bal due to the perma-grab bug. The aforementioned fix above does not work, at least for me, and I've sacrificed each of the companions and released/doomed Mannimarco to see if that would fix it. Strange how such a great game can be crippled by something so simple. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, but at this point I will either remake a character and wait for a patch (that actually does something, good joke right?) or cancel my sub.
