It's time to move away from Dungeon DLCs? Queue times make the game incredibly frustrating as DPS

The problem is that extremely few people play dungeons/raids and dungeons require whole trinity which makes it even worse as certain role gets uber long queues so they quit too.

You just cant win with these dungeon DLC, its clear loss for ZOS.

"Just some stats from PS4 trophies.

4.5% of all ESO PS4 players have cleared all DC base game group dungeons, 4.4% for AD and EP group dungeons at least on normal.

2.6% have cleared Mazzatun and 2.4% have completed Cradle of Shadows at least on normal difficulty.

1.6% have completed Bloodroot Forge and the same number have completed Falkreath Hold on at least normal difficulty.

1.4% have cleared Scalecaller and the same number have cleared Fang Lair on at least normal difficulty.

0.7% have cleared March of Sacrifices on at least normal, and 0.6% have cleared MHK on at least normal difficulty.

When you start looking at the completion rates for both dungeons on veteran in each pack, you’re at 0.5% for Shadows of the Hist, 0.2% for Horns of the Reach and Dragon Bones, and 0.1% for Wolfhunter."

EU server usually takes between 20 and 50 min. for random dungeon as a dps.

These stats are a bit skewed due to players that only play free weekends, players that didn't play very long, bot accounts etc. If you look at the numbers for players who reach level 50, I think someone in another thread said it was 12% on PS4... It's the same on xb1. I chuckle when it tells me I got a rare achievement in ESO. So many dormant/bot accounts.

Numbers are numbers and show clear defeat of DLC dungeons and miniscule playerbase participation.

Achievement numbers are trash.. you may look into completion rate of any very popular games in steam/ps4 etc and it will be 50% at best and usually more like 20-25%. So just 1/2-1/4 of people ever complete awesome game they bought? :D this is just shows that those numbers are seriously messed

ZOS just should introduce queue patterns like 4 dd, 3dd+tank... then people will just select 4dd runs for dungeons which dont require tank and 3dd+tank for dungeons which dont require healer. Problem solved.

Really needs design based on reality, there are no tanks and few healers, because the rest of the game is designed for DPS...

    This right here.

    - Questing? Favours DPS (tanks and healers can do it too, of course, but it's just tedious)

    - vMA? DPS only

    - Trials? 8x DPS, 2x healer, 2x tank

    - Dungeons/Arenas? 2x DPS, 1x tank, 1x healer (but realistically, a healer isn't necessary for most content, so you're looking at 3x DPS as the optimal setup most times)

    Some ways to correct this:

    - Allow for free respecs so tanks/healers can change roles on the fly (i.e. switch to DPS for vMA or questing and then back to support for trials/dungeons)

    - Stop adding 1-shot mechanics that make healers useless (a healer can't heal someone who dies in 1 hit)

If you wanna queue quickly, ask in zone chat for other people who are queueing too, group with them first, profit. Even if it's 2 DPS, it goes fast.

That holds true for my experiences as well. Not sure why though.

*EDIT for this question. Does a group of 2 dps get pushed ahead of sinlge dps in que and get their tank and healer first?

this is just raidculture doing its thing.

its not meant to knock anyone its just an observation of the natural progression when you have raids in your game everything eventually begins to become more raidlike and thus exclusive.

believe it or not i think zos has done a good job resisting but even for them its futile and they seem exhausted now so the dlc are more like trials than dungeons, doubling down on unpopular ideas like weaving. Best gear coming from trials again etc.

soon there will be mechanics on the login screen.

    lol - no doubt!

As to OP: The dungeon queue is a real problem, and they need an any role any level mode. It is usually quicker to solo non-DLC normal dungeons than wait for the queue. As to DLC dungeons, I get your point. After queuing for an hour at a time for different specific DLC dungeons, I'd realize there was no longer time to complete the dungeon even if I did get a group that didn't immediately port out.

Pretty much everything has been said regarding this but i just gotta give a big disagree to the idea that more content is bad for the game. This is a bit out of touch.

This does indeed seem to be the case, and it's not clear why two dps queued together should get to go ahead of two individuals queued separately. Seems very unfair and contributes to the very long wait time for a dps queued alone. But I abuse the heck out of it, 'cause them's the rules.
