Surveys - A request

Hello. With the upcoming update, I’ve been trying to clear bank space.

After several hours collecting surveys, I decided to look at my bank.

I have 78 bank spots filled with surveys.

Can we go back to the way it was before 1T? They were all in the same zone (Craglorn) and stacked nicely.

It really frustrates me having to find a stupid YouTube video to find these in every zone, including chapters.

Wow, that must suck. I am so spoiled to pc quality of life with addons. It would be so nice to have them all in one zone, but at least I don’t have to manually find each one or watch YouTube videos. On PC with Map Pins (awesome addon), X marks the spot.

I agree with you, would love to see this consolidated. If not the way it was before, maybe at least a little moreso than it is now.

There is almost 200 individual survey locations. There is no reason forthat's. Make surveys craglorn only. Inventory management is such an issue in this game and always has been. It should have been a major red flag not to add more surveys but for some reason they did.

That's why I use the UESP interactive map and look up the locations of the surveys in the search bar then have it on hunting them down.
Makes it much simpler.

It would be an interesting statistic to know how many people have piles of surveys. I know I only do the Jewelry ones and even then on a as needed basis.

I don't do piles. I get a half dozen on each main, I go do them. Jeez... it's not rocket science. Surveys are FREE STUFF. Why would you not take the time to do them?

It’s not hard per se, but I don’t enjoy looking up each one on my phone.

Do you use an add on for PC? Pins the map for you?

That would certainly make the process suck less on console.

I wrote an addon for my own use.

It counts the surveys I have. Tells me which zone has the largest number. And then outputs the location (and direction) of any that are in my current zone.

It certainly makes life simpler.

It needs GUI elements though, at the moment it is pure text.

Here's hoping that the console people eventually get something similar.

We definitely could use some quality of life updates for console. Surveys, skyshards, lorebooks, etc. I have at least 50 different inventory slots full of surveys. At least the jewelry surveys tell you EXACTLY where it is. Everything is just a vague X in a general area of a zone. *Pulls up dulfys site yet again"

Let's make it even easier just give us a package with all the materials in it, no surveys to hold or look for. If we are going to dream then dream big

Console players deserve to have treasure maps and surveys marked on the map as part of the new zone guide feature. They could even make it a toggle if anyone really preferred not to be shown.

I think it would be nice if they would make these not bound to you account. That way people who hate them could sell them or give them to friends or guildies and people who love them could buy or receive them from other people. Other things you get from doing crafting writs aren't bound, so why should surveys be bound?

i only go do surveys when i have more than 4 of the same one. Otherwise, i have an alt almost maxed out that holds them all. On console its almost not worth the time to do just one.

I'm with you, i used to dp writs daily for years. But since that change I've lost interest in the surveys. There was a novelty factor to going to new places at first but on console its a drag and i don't have the time to waste. I'm sitting on around a 100.

Just give us surveys for the zone we drop off in. That way people that want to roam can, but those that don't don't have to.

Or give us map pins that would at least help QOL

They are just free stuff. I understand your issue, as consoles have pros and cons and pcs have pros and cons. This one is a con for console.

But since they are just free stuff, if they are not worth the effort of making your own map with each survey location on it, just delete them.

The last time bag space was increased was in the fall of 2015 with Update 7 (Imperial City). Update 21 is now upon us, and character bag space has not changed at all despite all the new gear sets and other items added every single patch.

Standard bank space has never been increased since the launch of the game. Yes, they doubled the space for ESO+ members, but 240 additional spaces is only 16 spaces per character for an account with 15 characters.

I don't understand how ZOS thinks this is acceptable.

I do writs on 15 characters... So I have to collect surveys every week or I wont have space for them...

But fact that they are spread across Tamriel is actually my favorite part. Each week its a journey throu diffrent locations. Not just the same craglorn over and over...

That's not the point, they are worth having, just not worth the pain to burn hours running round getting them if you have limited play time.

Before they were simple, you could stand up a load and go clear a location. That's why i keep mine when they hit 5 in one place ill go.

Otherwise burning hours running about staring at apps or a browser just isn't fun game time.

I'm all for admin time, i e. Personally i love the fact we don't have an auction house and like.the trade system. But scattered surveys all over the place benefits no one. And that's the point

Exactly, the time to harvest those surveys is not free. It is game time which is supposed to be enjoyable. Furthermore in this case it is repetitive, so it seems strange that console players have to look for those survey spots every time. At least it could be marked on the map after the first visit.

Another problem is the space those surveys take up. I hope the database updates today will allow ZOS to increase our inventory space and adding more features similar to the crafting bag (siege bag, survey bag and so on).
