Siege Shield Please Stop

I qued to tank Direfrost Vet pledge and had a 68 CP DPS and a 200ish CP DPS with a 300s CP heals. Did the first boss and the DPS was bad, real bad. But the thing that really caught my eye was someone casting siege shield 3 times during the fight. On the second cast I checked who was doing it and saw it was the 68 CP DPS. So I told the group I was leaving, swapped characters and qued to tank Spindleclutch 2 because I could see the writing on the wall and I actually needed to do the quest on that character.

Finished Spindle in 25 mins and swapped back to the former character to try and tank Direfrost again. Qued and got the same 68 CP DPS, same healer and a new 300ish DPS. They had gotten past two more bosses from when I left them. Luck of the draw so I thought I would give it a go even though I did not hold out a lot of hope. We got to the last boss (slow boss kills and the siege shield was popped at least once with each boss). Last boss someone actually read the scroll for HM... I internally laughed at the cockiness or stupidity of the situation. Unsurprisingly not even a dent in the last bosses health before they all died. So I took the knee and waited for everyone to respawn. The 300s DPS said not enough DPS. I agreed then explained (when someone asked) that you had to break free straight away when she had the draining beam on you to stop her from regenerating health before again excusing myself.

12 hours later tanked Spindle again on another character and lost one DPS to a disconnect. Picked up a new DPS and low and behold it was the same DPS now CP 71. Second last boss of Spindle and yep you guessed it siege shield again. So at the end of the fight I explained in group chat why a siege shield won't be of any use in PvE. I prepared myself for the expected abuse but surprisingly none came and on the last boss no siege shield.

Not too sure how the issue of the siege shield had not come up before for the person given that they had done some levelling in the game.

TLDR for the good of the community please tell people when someone is doing something as blatantly wrong as using a siege shield in PvE.

Up front: yeah, don't slot it.

Explanation: propelling shield gives focused aim a 47 meter range. In fights where you can do this, you can stand out of boss red (Ever shot the manti from the ledgeway before the ladder? It's hilarious fun). One who slotted it also gets 10% magicka regen, which people are willing to take extra fire damage for.

But yeah, unless you're messing around its pointless.

    Exactly this ^
Why not ask the person to unslot it?? Or at least ask why he/she´s using it?

Once I was with some random group in AA. And someone were using Siege Shield from time to time... Trying to suppress my annoyance, I thought it will be funny to suddenly discover that Mage and her adds were buffed and will now use siege weapons against players :D But when people finally asked why is Siege Shield here, the person told he's using it for fun :| Weird that he wasted one slot on his bar and intentionally used this resource heavy ability.
Unfortunately you can't help some people, but

The only time to use Siege Shield in pve is in vSO when you get a magicka bomb on ya. If ya don't spend enough magicka before it goes off, ya dead. Siege shield's conveniently expensive.

As I mentioned the usual response from people when providing unrequested help in my experience is abuse and then they usually spam the skill/s even more. I think a symbol like we have for taunts and heals to let people know it is not meant for PvE would be helpful. I have seen people using it in delves as well so not an isolated incident.

As for leaving the group that was related to the poor DPS more than the use of the skill. Even when they were not using the skill that did not change. Spindleclutch is just more forgiving of low DPS than Direfrost is on the last boss.

If its Vet DFK and he is a dps and using siege shield, the chances are even if he removes it and uses another skill he is still going to be dire, so best save yourself some time and ungroup this chaotic band of adventurers.

People not reading a post the whole way through is what is wrong with these forums.

    1) I didn't rage quit. I left (after telling people I was) because the DPS was too low to do the last boss. I didn't vote someone out I accepted from my view it wasn't going to happen so I left
    2) I explained why I didn't comment on the siege shield
    3) I qued and completed another Vet Dungeon in the time it took them to do 2 of 6 bosses in the dungeon but thanks for the concern about me having to wait
    4) I don't remember blaming or even referring to ZOS but thanks for the attempted derail

Openworld no but guess you would get salty comment using it in the battleground :)
It might even happen as people has in on the pvp bar and use it.

Never seen it used in PvE outside of Rawl'kwa.
Had the opposite, was asked not to use ele drain as both DD was stamina, simply told i needed it for myself.

Maybe he was levelling it up for PvP ... It levels and morphs same as every other skill and he just popped it as it's on a button he would normally use for something else

I've done similar before ... Only due to not having X equipped the skill doesn't trigger but I would press it anyway ... Muscle memory

not long ago I got 400+cp nb from lfg tool to pledge

I saw he is not using over half of nb arsenal to do great dps and even was using bloodthirs as spammable without using to much any other skills and morkuldin set tot his

I explained how much he is wasting on his build with his setup (I was doing 80% of group dps)
nothing get to him, he had his own opinion and didnt want to get any advice from me where I gave many advices about stamblade as I was maining it before...this random was like talking into wall unfortunately, was playing with class with the best potential for dps but couldnt accept any fact of this he is going totally wrong with full his build

this is reason why I dont have time or dont want to waste my time everytime when I get into group with an noob

even healer in this group under 200cp which was looking more for noob and was healing horribly could understand more and accept advices to improve his gameplay

    @mairwen85 yes
but when you see someoe is really horrible especailly with not very low cp..then I think we should try to help him some if we can as someone else who had worse day for example or never wanted to deal with noobish players...will jsut kick him or something

as in ma case this was old pledge, people in this group at all was noobs but as this was easy dung I just went forward with them
if that was current day pledge I would just try to kick this guy who is not only horrible but also dont want to improive his gameplay as for group content, or I would jsut leave this group to not do slowly this dung as I even prefer to wait some more time with afk to find later group with which I could just burn this dung

at the end guy like this which I mentioned which dont want to improve themselves...then they are suprised, shocked when someone kick them from group becasue they didint want to learn this game, upgrade they build to be more efficient - this is my mian point

you give advie to noob how to improve his build for atleast this group content - he ignore it, he have his own noob opinion as his build is better > shocked he got kicked from group because of very bad/horrible build when going into group content, especially veteran :|
