Now that we have to empty bank and inventory...

Here is what I'm going to do, and please share advices
- of my 8 alts I left only 2 geared - they have good gear, it was hard to obtain and transmute it
- going to leave only truly unique items in my home chest: Indrik berry, bucket and broom. Murkmire stave of uniques appearance... should destroy?
- I have gold, Tel Var and AP, all in one place: bank. Leave there? Take to one character?
- took all my low level mats to guild store. Some will sell. If not, i'll retrieve everything before going to sleep and sell to merchant/destroy.
- made all my chars naked - no costume, no pets... just to be on the safe side...
- will delete all my addons before going to sleep
- will learn all unsold motifs with my chars using exp scrolls

What else?

I don't think that such.... drastic measures are necessary. I'm just going to leave bank and all inventories as is. It it means 2-3 hours of loading, well, so be it, I'm not giving up any of my stuff

That's a lot of work to minimize a single login event.

The note from ZoS suggested reducing inventory clutter to reduce the login time. It did not say to strip our accounts.

I will not be concerned and will not do anything to my inventory. It is a one time thing we will experience and if the forums show it is taking an extremely long time I will just have it happen while I sleep and wait a day before seeing the new dungeons on live.

It seems pointless to go to extreemes, Heck, crafting bag alone has a lot of items and I am certainly not going to upgrade every piece of gear I am not using, but might, to gold to minimize my inventory.

If you are hording motifs you are not using then that is a different thing.

It is what it is. Just deal and hopefully good comes out of this change.

I'm keeping all my toons just as they currently are. My thought is that I might end up spending more time cleaning them out than I'd save on the loading screen of doom on Monday.

I'm not getting rid of anything. if it takes 2 hours or longer for my login screen so be it, I'll initiate login and go find something else to do.

A little overdue housekeeping in respect of your various inventories is sensible, stripping your account of everything on it except naked characters and little else is utterly absurd and wholly unwarranted.

I'm not bothering with my inventory if raid 0 SSD setup can't load eso fast enough that is ZOS issue not my issue. But again this game been plagued with trash load times forever and company doesn't want spend any money on fixing said issue sadly.

On top of which :-
If it goes fine, it'll be a hour or 2 per account
If goes belly up, April maybe (or never)

if it goes fine, you wasted a load of time clearing the account
if it goes belly up, you can be sure that you get caught up in it, even with 15 naked characters

so do nothing, what happens will happen anyway...

It is a one time login hiccup.

Given that the range Gina gave was 5 min to a couple hours, who knows how much impact de-cluttering will actually have. My inventories are fairly tidy anyway.

Worst case scenario, I will minimize the login screen and play Terraria. Or..something else

I might make sure I go through the whole of my normal process of sorting out characters inventories, instead of just stopping whenever I'm bored or need to log off, but I'm not going to go to extremes.
In brief that process is:
* Sell junk items and any ornate weapons and armour to an NPC merchant.
* Deposit any others weapons, armour and glyphs I don't want into the bank, plus any materials.
* Withdraw them on my crafter and either deconstruct them or keep them to sell in the guild store if they're worth selling.
* Deposit materials into the bank and trait materials into a chest in his house.

It couldn't hurt to sort your bank and inventories out before the update but I don't think there's any reason to strip everything from your account just to reduce your first load time of the day, and certainly no need to worry about totally unrelated things like pets and costumes.

And here I thought I was probably being overly cautious, by consolidating some stacks of potions from character inventories into one stack in the bank and destroying all those lockpicks I'll never use.

If anything I'm going to split my items up amongst my characters even more so that they're all maxed inventory slots used.

Mainly because I love watching the loadscreens but on Xbox EU they're so short that I never get to truly appreciate the concept art. I hope I get that cyrodiil one because I've never got to see it before.

Like most everyone else here, I'm not bothering with clearing out any of my stuff. The whole reason I have what I do to begin with is because I plan on using it at some point, if I'm not using it already. I'll just sit through the few hours of migration if that's how long it takes.

Everything you listed is taking it to extremes that likely won't make that much of a difference. The stuff you've already done can't be helped, but for anything else you were planning on doing, I'd honestly say not to bother. You're only going to end up gimping your account going that far for something that, even if it does take an hour or two, is only going to be happening once.

Well, actually I did nothing bringing me to disaster. The alts stripped of everything are low level, no good gear. The mats I placed in a guild store were sitting in my craftbag for years. Motifs - nothing expensive, really. My bank and chests were full of items I don't use for years. And I'm finally going to destroy poisons and use instant reserach scrolls.

I screenshotted all my bags today. Will do banks and craft bags after writs/surveys tomorrow. I don't have a lot of stuff I really feel like doing away with, and since I can sit here for however long it takes, I'm just leaving stuff where it is. No way I'd strip everyone etc. @myskyrim26 - pretty sure that isn't needed.

Doesn't the Crafting Bag count as inventory, wouldn't all that excess items you collected also factor in?

I guess Crafting Bag counts, that's why I refined everything I could and try to sell low lvl mats in a guild store. As for collected items - well, I will miss only Goblin disguise, yet I can get it again quite easily

Meh, doesn't really matter if you have to wait up to two extra hours, there will be plenty of other "unexpected difficulties", because patchdays (especially in ESO) are always [Split]show.
