Everquest and WoW did not require anything of the sort.
I love this game, but I refuse to be manipulated in this way.
Fix it, Zenimax. Don't make this mistake and drive away a large portion of your player base. We are not cell-phone customers who have failed to pay a bill. We bought your product, and want what we paid for.
I dont see this as a mayor problem. It seems most people have the same attitude as you do, which is " I payed for this game, and it isn't working as I expect it to "
Well, damn. It is working. And you get 30 days of free gameplay. Just choose a recurring subscription, and cancel it before they charge you a new month. It's not a problem at all. Most on these forums should calm their thongs down.
horize the card as well, though in fairness they only did it for a single dollar.
I am seriously amazed at how many people forgot how this worked when MMOs first came out. This is NOT a big deal and if you do not have a way to pay for the account why did you buy the game. Seriously folks if a $15 authorization is hurting you financially then buy a game for $60 or MORE and then KNOW you would have to pay $15 a month for the game was fiscally irresponsible.
Except there are people who do not use any sort of Credit Card/Debit card let alone have a bank account or participate in banking, I know I don't. Game Time Cards would be an option if they existed because as it stands the only way to get on in North America is to order it from the UK. However I have confirmed if you want your money back for the original purchase because there are no game time cards available so anyone who was planning on using that option cannot play through no fault of their own. Instead of making the players send a ticket and then waiting hours to days for a response would be to just fix the situation and let people use their time without forcing us into a reoccuring subscription.Hyperventilate wrote: »You are not actually being charged. Upon setting up your subscription plan you may see an initial transaction against your account however this transaction is only temporary. The charge represents an authorization check against the account provided and will be removed once the authorization check is complete.
Exceptions to this general rule are Webmoney, ideal, PaySafeCard, and Giropay.
[Update]
We want everyone who purchased ESO to have immediate access to the included 30 days of ESO game time. In the event that you enter your payment information for authorization and the transaction cancels due to lack of funds in your account, please contact our Support Team. We’ll work with you to ensure you have access to your included 30 days of game time.
Please ensure that you have attempted to enter payment information and had the transaction fail due to lack of funds before submitting a help request. We will get you into the game and playing as soon as possible.
We require you to choose a subscription option and enter valid payment information. For credit cards, debit cards and PayPal there is no charge made until after your included 30 days of game time has expired. For these payment methods, there is an authorization check performed to ensure the payment method is valid. You may see a temporary account authorization hold put on funds in your account while the verification completes. Usually this authorization hold lasts a short period of time before being removed. It can vary from bank to bank.
If you prefer to use one of the following payment methods, payment is processed at the time of selecting your preferred subscription plan.
Game Time Cards [via Retailer]
GiroPay
iDeal
Paysafe Card
WebMoney"
Contact support if you want to bypass it entirely.

All I read was " it was easy for me, shut up and do what you are told and don't ask question, they will inform us when we need to know.Another one of these threads..
The game requires a subscription to play after the 30 free days.. big deal..
You people who keep making these dumb threads do realize you can just cancel the subscription right after you make it yea?
And if you have any problems after that, you can just talk to your bank.
What's dumb is complaining in this way, you knew the game requires a subscription, you knew at some point you would need to add one, you must know that you can cancel a subscription whenever you want..
Seriously.. the stupidity in people who claim to "love this game" but fret over adding a subscription, it's like children everywhere pretending to be adults.

UUUHHH, sorry yes they did. Both required a credit card be entered, in fact they did this without any other options like PayPal and such. They did authorize the card as well, though in fairness they only did it for a single dollar.
Ok now what about the people who have done that.....days ago.....with no response...Hyperventilate wrote: »Nobody read the rest of my comment.
