I think it's mostly because people don't want to make/play new characters.
The ability to keep playing a character you may have played on for years and also get the new shiny stuff is much more desirable than starting over again.
Warden is good tanks and healers especially with lower sustain races. Very strong stamina DD,
Elemental weapon is ugly, unfun and mandatory for end game pve dps. Most of the psijic skills have cool animations, yet the spammable is about as boring as it gets.
I didnt say it was bad, because obviously a bad skill line doesnt sell chapters, but it is a let down compared to a full psijic class would have been, or the necro might be.
What the Necro MIGHT be, agreed. I fully expect the Necro will be a thousand times better than Warden which is trash tier design (my opinion, don't rage at me).
Have you used Temporal Guard in PvP? It's amazing.
Elemental weapon was a bit lazy in design but it fills a niche and I think it looks/feels great to use with a staff.
Meditate and Acceleration are also a bit niche but really great skills.
IDK personally I'd take Psijic-type skill line additions over junk classes like the Warden all day.

Really? Why? I love the Psijic line, it has more to offer for certain builds than several class lines. Literally every skill is cool and useful. What's your beef?

Even this game essentially has all the pieces in place to do. Just add all class skill lines to the common skills. I would even go one step further, and reorganize them by traditional TES categories, keeping and using their skill line and morph design. I'd just have seperate skill lines for all the older magic schools, skill lines for all the individual weapons, and then skill lines organized by a theme taken from the classes.

Personally, I am cool with a class but I want a new weapon skill line. Or, for better words, a lack of weapon lol. I love Magicka builds, but I HATE using a staff. There is not another way to play Magicka without a staff unless you a some hybrid tank or ok with getting low DPS and kicked from groups.
The only staff I considered in the past was a Frost staff, now it is for tanking lol.
Personally, I really want bare hands magicka style. I like having that style or magic not required by a staff.
After all these years, ZoS still has failed to give players a way to enjoy Magicka builds without a damn staff...

Skyrim is the only TES without classes.
