Why do you want skill lines, not class?

And "I don't have any character slots so I can't make necromancer" isn't an excuse because ZOS is giving us free slot and it is really selfish.

I can understand that concept, but sometimes creating an entire new character (especially one that is a new class all together) can be a breath of fresh air.

I'm not too excited about necromancers, but I plan to create one and basically start from scratch. No CP until I hit lvl 50, and as always, only basic crafted gear and weapons. I want to challenge myself so I really LEARN the class.

I would rather have a skill line but it is what it is. I simply don't have time to start a new character.

Classes are much better than just getting skill lines .. if we had the ability to have more skills it would make sense ..

But only having 10 skills between 2 bars you won't even be utilizing half the skill lines to begin with ..

I welcome new classes! I like creating different characters. Warden was a great addition. I wasn't on the necromancer hype train but I am glad they are adding the class and it will be interesting to see what they bring to the table.

Personally I would like a magicka melee class or weapon line, one that uses one handed weapon and the touch spells like from Oblivion.

More skill lines is fun to experiment with and find synergies. It's like the original guild wars game. So many skills and builds in that game. It had 1000s of builds.

I want both. The bonus to getting new skill lines is that it offers more customization possibilities to existing characters and new reasons to play old alts.

Obviously, new classes are great for experiencing the game again with a new set of class skills.

With a new class, we get 15 active skills, 3 ultimates, and 12 passives. If the same amount of skills were released as skill lines, it would make the game a lot more customizable.

As a class, magcros will use like 6 class skills and fill the rest with MG and Staff skills, while stamcros will use the same BiS DW/BoW build that makes all stam specs in this game regardless of class be 60% the same (thanks to NBs and DKs, if we looked at Sorcs the similarity would be far worse ). Meanwhile, all other classes and builds are unaffected.

As a skill line (or spellcrafting or some such) you could still combine the same new skills with guild and weapons skills like necros will, but all characters could add some niche abilities or interesting combinations to their own skill set too.

While the corpse mechanic seems interesting and I hope they pull it off, to me it's less interesting to get a class who has the same abilities like the rest (recoloured basic AoE, basic class spammable, basic class buff, etc) than to get unique and new skills added as options as a skill line.

I want a real stamina based skill line. We can morph a couple of skills to stamina from magic so why not give us a full stamina skill line.

If they make a class I'd like to see something from the traditional past like 'Barbarian' with more stamina oriented skills just to mix things up. That being said I'd just prefer they added skill lines. I'm looking forward to making my TankCro and Stamcro (and MagCro if they let us buy enough slots) but going forward I generally would prefer Spellcrafting and weapon skills/combos.

It would be also nice if we could make a few others. I'd like to get a 3rd Warden on the account too.

Another skill line? What a terrible idea.

They always seem to put one overpowered ability in each skill line so people have a reason to do it. Any more skill lines and every class will be the same.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
Condemned and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Skill lines are a way to expand and diversify existing characters. You can add a new flavor to a Dragonknight, Sorcerer, etc and create something new.
Honestly I wish all the existing class lines were skill lines as well, to mix and match some DK skills with some NB skills, and so on and so on.

Some do stick with only one character but that is not the case with most players I know in both raiding and casual players.

Lack of interesting levelling content means it's a real drag to level a new char. Plus skill lines are flavour that can be added to any char, whereas classes are a rather old fashioned and siloed way of doing this sort of thing, which I thought the world had moved on from sometime ago.

That said, levelling the Psijic skill line was the epitomy of boredom, I gave up after a few areas. Whoever in ZOS thought that was a good idea needs shooting.

Really? Why? I love the Psijic line, it has more to offer for certain builds than several class lines. Literally every skill is cool and useful. What's your beef?

Elemental weapon is ugly, unfun and mandatory for end game pve dps. Most of the psijic skills have cool animations, yet the spammable is about as boring as it gets.

I didnt say it was bad, because obviously a bad skill line doesnt sell chapters, but it is a let down compared to a full psijic class would have been, or the necro might be.

I don't want either. Unless you mean dumping all classes and just having skill lines that every character can access.

Two classes is twice as hard to balance as one. Three classes is three times as hard. . . you see where I'm going. I'm not delighted with the game's ability to balance the classes we have so I don't think more classes is a good idea as it simply compounds the problem.

As far as adding stand alone skill lines, I don't like that either. I already have way more skills I'd like to slot than my 10 slots allow so more skill lines simply adds to the frustration.

You are right. No good skills = no good $$$$$

Also if every class could have every skill in game, where would be diversity? Everyone would be the same.

What the Necro MIGHT be, agreed. I fully expect the Necro will be a thousand times better than Warden which is trash tier design (my opinion, don't rage at me).

Have you used Temporal Guard in PvP? It's amazing.

Elemental weapon was a bit lazy in design but it fills a niche and I think it looks/feels great to use with a staff.

Meditate and Acceleration are also a bit niche but really great skills.

IDK personally I'd take Psijic-type skill line additions over junk classes like the Warden all day.
