I would wait to use your 30 days, at least until after the first week. I'm not even getting access code to log into the game and it's cutting into my free time. Considering the wait time on tickets, I'll probably end up waiting over a full day just like everyone else.

Well if you like it for what it is, if you liked the pretty of the beta and the idea of the game and you have fun playing it - if you can handle the occasional roll-back and the bugs - don't listen to the internet or the forum.
Too many rage cases out there.
Don't let other people tell you what you can or can't enjoy.
There's a difference between advice and bitter internet opinion explosion, and too many people don't know the difference when they're putting theirs out there.

Never come to a game forum and be afraid of what you see. Not to mention, Support forums are there mostly for people having problems. You're not going to come into a support forum and just see page after page of people posting how everything works perfectly. As many problems as this game has at the moment, you have to remember where you are and then put it in context to the overall units this game sold. Have I encountered problems with the game? Sure. Have they been game breaking or ruined my experience any? No. Have others had the same experience as I have? Plenty, and probably some who have had better! Have there been people who can't play, have lost items, been wrongly banned, etc? Yes. The fact is, game launches are rough, and MMO launches are the roughest. If you cannot stand the least bit of a hiccup in your gaming experience, you may want to hold off, sure, but I think it'd be a shame to do so only because you were afraid of what a minority were experiencing.

Are you having fun? If yes, that should be the deciding factor.

No, I am not having fun. :stuck_out_tongue: If I let that be the deciding factor, I'd never play anything new.

Well, test the waters then; and if you still feel the same, cancel your sub. There is no reason to be afraid, it's just a game.

The money wasted is what would have me upset. And I guess I'm just not as bold as you. :P Especially since it's my husband's money, and not my own.

I do not find it to be that much money, and I do not even make that much myself at all. However, I understand that is a concern for some people. You did say you already spent a good amount of money on the game though. So, why not at least use up your 30 days and see if any of these issues still exist?

My thought process is pretty simple. If I enjoy it, I will play it. If I find myself getting bored, frustrated, etc. Then I stop. Subscribing is not a lifetime commitment.

The fact that this fear is even a factor in enjoying the game is beyond ludicrous. "Disaster" is a fitting term for the release of this game. The game itself is going over well with a fair amount of bugs in the software but the administration is performing at unacceptable levels.

I am having a blast despite its flaws; I have only had minor issues so far and not any of the biggies. knock on wood.

Its best to wait until things settle down for two reasons : disappear items from the bank issue and banning/suspension issues. Hopefully they will fix the bank issue soon. And as things calm down and other bugs get fixed, the customer service will be able to deal with account issues quicker and with less mistakes.

It is kind of funny but the first thing that will ruin any MMO is reading the forums, heh. Only thing I can recommend (without throwing in all my bias) is after playing the game for a short while, are you having fun while in game playing? If the answer is yes, play for a while. If answer is no or maybe, look at your own reasons for why it is not fun, decide if fixable, and if not, then don't subscribe. Unfortunately playing any MMO at release has its fair share of downside.

Please try to keep in mind, that mostly people NOT playing or enjoying the game are comming to the forum and voicing their mostly strongly biased oppinion.

I'd guess that 90% are happily playing the game and are enjoying it ( like me and the other 499 people from our guild )

Many Forums in general are one of the worst parts of the internet. Full of hate, full of lies and full of negativity.

Don't ever judge anything in the world by the impression you got from any forum.

Also, from what i learned in life, many people are like "if i am not having fun, nobody else should" and so they come here and try to ruin everyones else fun and try evertyhing to poison any good mood.

You're pretty much right. I'm only here to satisfy my morbid curiosity for what issues other people are having (It happens when you work in IT). I'll also add I am only here while at work haha (closes the window as boss walks by). If I am at home and at my computer, I'm in game playing not coming to forums. I've had no issues what so ever from the first day of pre-release on. (other than a few bugged quests)

Sucks for those who are having trouble though :(

Pretty much open beta for first 2 months. Things are going to crash/ deleted/ people will be pissed. I'd hold off at least 2 months. For me, I've had some game issues including the fall through world bug, some quests not working, also lost 20 bank slots. I'll stick it out till something really bad happens then I'm done. And yeah waiting with no word from support sucks, I've put in tickets on my bank slots missing and got the generic we're looking into it. That was 2 weeks ago.

How have you been playing for 2 weeks? Early access started 8 days ago. Also, you posted in the 4/6 bank reset thread about your bank resetting after getting the duplicate pet emails (which would have happened on the 4th at the earliest). Did you somehow submit a ticket 10+ days before your issue started?

Blatant exaggeration does not help the situation. It just freaks out people like the OP unnecessarily.

My main line quest has been bugged for 50% longer then what it took me to go from 1-50. Which means for 6 days I have done nothing of importance waiting for someone to get back to me. I am going to ask for a refund and walk away from this game and its terrible customer service. I recommend that you wait to activate your account.

I've been a Beta tester for a lot of games before ESO, and yes, while people are having issues, and problems most of the time they're limited in number compared to what most people are experiencing.

From that experience I've learned a few things.

    1. Beta's will not find all the bugs, glitches, problems, etc in a game EVER! You can test and test and keep testing, but chances are most major problems in a game will only be found once the game is released to the public on a wide scale. ESO compared to other games is no different in this regard and on top of that its an MMO so some problems are bound to pop up.
    2. Don't always trust the Internet, people lie, cheat, make things up, etc. From my personal experience with the game I am a Lvl 36 Imperial Dragonknight, and the biggest issues I've only had so far were the Greenshade rollbacks and bugged missions, which were quickly fixed compared to most MMO's.
    3. I do agree with most people's points that they need to get a system in place to let people know what they're fixing, what they're looking into, etc that would be my one and only complaint that I've seen from people that I would agree with.

Now give the game a shot, I've had nothing but fun, and I've met a lot of great new friends already. This is really everything I've wanted in a MMO style game in a long time I can already see myself staying for quite a long time.

So yeah take a leap of faith with your Husband, and enjoy a great game, and what will become an even better game as time goes on.

For what it is worth, the game is very enjoyable so far (lvl 25) and I have had only a few bugs or problems with it to this point. Sure a few quests took a day or two to get fixed, but you just go on to the next one. Sure, there are tweaks and fixes to be made, but they certainly haven't affected *my* game play.

I realize others have had game breaking problems, and there always seems to be some of that in any MMO launch.

Really the early access period would have been perfect to get an idea if the game was for you or not.

Does Eve Online permanently ban players despite acknowledging that "no reason" was noted or can be supplied for the ban?

No wonder you have to leave a disclaimer about your account name, worrying that some bot will autoban you

Exactly. Permanently banning this many players with this many "false negatives" is going to screw this company. OP, steer clear if you value any degree of justice or responsibility in gaming

Game forums are always full of complaints, because people who are happy do play the game. I played D3 for almost two years and everyone was hating on the game.

Yet I had a lot of fun.

TESO is a lot of fun as well, the issue´s with the pre order keys and the retailers are an unfortunate side affect.

Everything else is standard in MMO´s and not unusual. A lot of people forget how MMO´s start out, they are not perfect, they are not free of bugs and yes they have a maintenance from time to time.

Personally I don't know what the issue with billing is, a lot is just inexperience by new players to the MMO business. Its fully normal to enter your CC upon registration, you still have your 30 days and don't lose anything if you play now.

I have been in almost every MMO release of the past 15 years and believe me when I say that TESO is still one of the smoother releases. Worst are still SWTOR, Warhammer and AOC and I doubt any game can ever beat those.

A game that didn't ship with HD textures, another with a massive memory leak and the third only had content until level 30.

10 days ago for me. March 30.

@Kee‌ I have been following this thread all day and I really don't see a reason to be overly worried, or as you say, scared about the game.

I would suggest just going ahead and playing, but with a head towards caution.

Stay away from gold and item transfers. If they are having a widespread problem with false positives, and I am not convinced that they are, then not transferring gold for a while will keep you off those lists. I think they have a limited problem that is rather high profile at the moment.

Hold off on upgrading the bank. I have not had any problems with the bank, but then I have nothing of real value in mine other than the CE maps. I use mine to store my crafting materials so if those go missing it is just my time that is lost.

Have fun. It's a fun game.

Have not encountered any serious issues so far. While the game has plenty of bugs it is not so unusual for a game of this kind to be quite buggy on release.

The gold trading ban is to stop gold sellers. But they didnt quite thing this through when it comes to friends/couples. I also gave a friend a couple thousand gold for a skill reset as he has no money.
Would be silly to get banned for helping a friend.

It is hard to find good counter measures other than allowing free trade for people living at the same address

I feel like I'm in the same boat, @Kee well...sort of anyway. I couldn't subscribe even if I wanted to because Zenimax never stated that Prepaid Time Cards wouldn't be available until the end of April. That little detail seems to have fallen through the marketing hype-cracks.

I wouldn't pay Zenimax any more of my money right now, not until I'm confident that they can handle what we've already given them with proper integrity. All of the unanswered calls for help and blame-gaming on their part has not bolstered my confidence in them at this time. Also, those 30 free days...Let Zenimax fix the game on their time, not our time which we have the right to by purchasing the game to begin with.

For crying out loud, I'm a nursing student, I have very little time and money for gaming as it is! I chose to spend my budgeted "gaming money" on The Elder Scrolls Online: Digital Imperial Edition, and I can't even play it because I was misled into believing that Prepaid Time Card would be available at launch, and that the game, well, wouldn't be worse off than the beta.

At this point, I don't know what I'm going to have to come back to either when I finally get my hands on a Prepaid Time Card. A wrongly-banned account, all my exclusive items gone, my character deleted? I share your apprehension.

If you can avoid the temptation/addiction of it, I recommend you go for it. I, for one, was very busy occupying myself with household tasks, etc, until my early access started. Since then, I've only busied myself with playing and, more recently, scanning forums; emailing customer support; and waiting in long hold lines for a phone call.
This is all part of the game.

I get that people are frustrated. Likely upset.

This is just a game. Is it really worth the effort to rage against the machine for just a game? If things work out, fine, but should anyone lose sleep over whether or not they are wanted in this little club?

If the game means that much, and the ban is that heinous, then submit a brief and polite request for information or update at the help website periodically. Try to view the situation from their side and give them time to respond (days, not hours) before repeating. And remember: Brief. Polite. Even tempered. No threats, demands, or decrees.
