✭✭✭✭✭SometimesIf I'm chest farming, I open all chests. If I'm doing something else, I avoid all chests. Simple still has a chance at set loot if you have the treasure hunter passive.
If you don't have the passive, I can see why you might skip the chest as it may not be worth the time. That being said, I wouldn't be chest farming without that passive anyway.2 -

✭✭✭✭✭YesIt's one of the things which keeps me interested in ESO, especially in dungeons i always check places for chests even if sets from this dungeon are useless. You feel lucky when you got the chest, it's nice feeling

✭✭✭✭✭YesI always open all the chests. It only takes a few seconds to pick the lock, and there's always something in there. Fat cats also do, its faster to auto loot and summon cute Redguard then full.I also take all contents inside of chests...more than I can say for anyone else..
Because of this public sacrifice buff fat cats, give us 2X inventory not only bank space with ESO+.Grinding just make you go in circles.

✭✭✭✭✭Another thing, if in dungeons, especially for hard chests, hang back a bit on chest just mark it with shards or other small AoE if you don't have high ledgerman.
This one has 70% chance of cracking an master, has this on all four who is vet qualified.Grinding just make you go in circles.

Always. I have the Treasure Hunter passive, so I usually get better than greens out of them. For the most part, it's just decon material anyway. If I am looking for set pieces, I have a crafter than can upgrade green items, so it's still not a loss on that end either.
What I hate, are people who go into a chest farming zone and cherry pick. So, they'll do a route and skip all the simple chests then take all the intermediate or higher. It's almost as bad as the people who don't fully loot, and leave their garbage behind, except that they leave the entire chest behind as trash for someone else to clear, then come around later for a better respawn.

✭✭✭✭✭YesDuring the betas (when the justice system didn't exist yet) I hadn't realised there was no theft or other crime options in the game and I thought treasure chests counted as stealing (I mean, you have to pick the lock to get in so it kind of is). So I decided only one of my characters would open them, because the rest wouldn't steal.
That didn't even last to the end of the betas - ignoring a chest bothered me too much, so I rationalised it by saying since they're almost always out in the middle of no where they're clearly abandoned (or belong to bandits maybe) so it's ok.
(And now all my characters steal occasionally, because sometimes game mechanics trump immersion - I'm not going to leave a full purple motif book sitting there just because it's in a container which belongs to an ally.)PC EU player | She/her/hers | PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!

I do not like steeling so I level all my chars by opening treasure chests manually, be they Simple or Master.
My Legerdemain max characters seem to find better quality stuff - and more of it - than when they force the lock.
