Whats the physical/spell resistance cap?
And at which amount weapon damage becomes less effective?
How much physical penetration should someone has to deal solid damage?
How much stamina/ magicka recovery is needed for pvp and pve?

I think phys and spell resist is capped at about 33.5k wich equals 50% damage mitigation.

Weapon damage doesnt become less effective the higher it gets. Just more effective cause of multiplier like major minor brutality.

About pen its hard to tell. Especially in pvp. High pen wont give you much more damage against targets who have less resist then your pen. But due to the overall tankyness in pvp about 5k pen is minimum. Everything else really depens on your build and is hard to tell .

Recovery also depends on build and class. Pve is about 1300 for a DD. Pvp wise it completly varies from builds. Some are fine with 1.600 like DKs cause they have other options to gain ressources (helping hands, battle roar) some need more, for example stamblades due to high amount of dodgeroll.

2. Don't know, but I doubt you can reach the cap of effective spell/phys damage actually. I would say the more the better, the same as resource pool (max magicka/stamina).
3. Monsters i PvE have 18.2K resistances, so you have to have the same amount of penetration to deal full damage. Don't forget about debuffs you have, e.g., Major Breach/Fracture reduces target's resistance by ~5200. So, you don't need full 18K penetration, you only need like 12K in most PvE cases.
4. What you find more comfortable. Depends on build, playstyle. If you want to be a tanky guy, you'd better get like 2K recovery, but if you do so, you most likely wouldn't be able to deal high damage, because you cannot get all parameters at max, you have to find balance. Sacrifice some damage to get more survivabiluty, or pull max damage but be a "glass cannon".

I play magicka characters and it's quite easy with Light Armor passive which gives you 4884 penetration if you wear 5 light pieces.
For stamina, well, with maces (both one hand and two hand) you ignore 20% of target's physical resistance, so you don't need that much penetration on stamina character with maces.

The problem with maces/mauls is that they decrease physical resistance after all your other penetration is added so they are terrible if you're building high into penetration.

So with these numbers involved and not even including minor breach you can run a few infused to drop your pen down instead of full divines on a light armor build. On a stam build you take a few out of your piercing cp.

With your destro line that only involves destruction staff abilities. Not a flat 10% over everything
