Methinks its a case of automated offline and then being left sitting there while the ZOS finish the Live patch.
We need to do some database work every week for PTS, so the maintenances are going to take a little longer than usual. Has nothing to do with the patch size or amount of fixes. That said, we still have a number of hours to go, so expect PTS to be back up in roughly 6 hours from now.

Like Gina said earlier they're doing some database work in each week of the PTS cycle, so the actual patch won't have been started right away if they do all the database stuff first (which makes sense).
Still, Natch Potes are important and we wants them

What Maintenance have to do with Patch Notes? they can be released 1-2 hour earlier or by fix time eveyr patch (i.e. 5 PM EDT etc.) unless ZOS have some internal protocol.
