To be honest this is the main reason I spend a good 95% of my playtime on only two of my nine characters. I just cannot get myself to run around like a bot to collect lorebooks and skyshards because it is so time consuming and braindead as you can make it.

Because it changes the game.
Right now, if you are just leveling a character, you cannot unlock all the skills as you open them up. You have to pick and choose which ones are most important to your characters' progression.
But with what is proposed, and the infusion of 143 skill points upon the launch of a character, is the ability to unlock everything, AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE (for those who are going to scream "YOU CAN'T UNLOCK EVERYTHING ANYWAYS AS YOU LEVEL") You will still be stronger, at a lower level, and able to do more than other counterparts at a lower level. You will have more passives unlocked, you will have more flexibility in skills.
No it doesn't.
I like the added "just levelling a character" - If you take that away I could easily reply by saying that I can go and collect every skyshard and lorebook, pre-levelling on a level 1 and purchase/morph skills and passives as quickly I get them with plenty to spare - Time to gather collectables doesn't change with your level and you do inevitably have to do it in some way.
So, should we stop players collecting sky shards, lore books and whatever before level 50? Otherwise they are inherently more powerful than their counterparts at low level, especially if they've put the hours in to get things like Meteor. It will completely unbalance under 50 PvP/BGs.
Remember the rune cage meta? I was in < 50 BG's on a fully geared level 15 Sorc and I was going +30-0 consistently pulling 1-2M damage a game, without Met, shields or half of the base skills.
Under 50's BG's are unbalanced by the fact that any experienced players are usually competent with mechanics, completely geared through their own or a friends crafter and are often playing against complete beginners.
Under 50s BG's can safely be ignored as a problem imo.
The difference is you have to make a conscientious effort to do those things (I have friends in the game, so that they could do exactly that). Not have them just "given" to you upon character creation.
Do you see the difference?
One requires some effort, sacrifice, time spent on character creation.
The other is a handout.
If you want something, work for it, don't just get it handed to you.
I get given 1100 Champion points upon character creation, a shared bank full of food/potions/whatever, +XX million gold to buy whatever I want and so on.. The end result is that I am stronger with more advantages upon character creation and with that, will be levelling significantly faster than someone else.
I earned those CP on another character, should I have to collect them all again? I earned master crafter on another character, should I be not be allowed to craft my new character gear, potions, enchants or foods that others don't have access to?
If you answer no to any of those then ask yourself why Skyshards or lorebooks can't be shared.
I don't know what the damage, mitigation and recovery benefits are from those things I mentioned above but they're SIGNIFICANTLY more advantageous than a few skill points and a couple passives.
I got my traits researched and earned CP on my main the same way I collected skyshards and lorebooks on it - Time invested.
In that sense, I don't see the difference - Why are CP and Skyshards different?
I'm aware master crafting isn't globally shared across my characters but it doesn't need to be due to the fact you have a shared bank, which in essence, makes it global.

Please try this. Tell us here how many skill points you need for a build, and then run around Tamriel collecting skyshards until you have all those skill points. Then tell us what level you got to, because you most definitely won't be level 1 anymore.
Haha.. I mean, everyone was aware that you'd get a few levels from discovery experience but it's the premise.

The skyshards are linked to achievements and I feel achievements shouldn’t be account wide as it would bad for the game. I know there’s achievements linked to cp but you have to allocate them before you unlock the achievements and they’re generic. How would it work for skyshards? The skyshard achievements are specific and hunting them down is part of the fun.
Making achievements account wide or removing the achievements for skyshards would affect me hence why I said no thank you

Yes. The game gives some things that are account-wide and some things that are character specific. I think balancing competing styles to a point is ok. But you want to tip the scales entirely into the account-wide, which will disrupt playtime for those who enjoy the character-specific items. So you have shared bank, champion points, the ability to craft gear for alts, and we have skyshards, skill lines, character levels and achievements.
That said, having skyshards and lorebooks on the map so you know where to look would be fine as an option. Having new characters automatically access skill points from skyshards they have never seen, would not.I like the added "just levelling a character" - If you take that away I could easily reply by saying that I can go and collect every skyshard and lorebook, pre-levelling on a level 1 and purchase/morph skills and passives as quickly I get them with plenty to spare - Time to gather collectables doesn't change with your level and you do inevitably have to do it in some way.

It's more than a few levels. I get my characters to 50 by participating in guild events, where we mostly go skyshard, dolmen and world boss hunting, with a side of Public Dungeons, and it doesn't take too long to get to 50 while having fun.

How is having 10 alts with seperate achievments good for the game. You guys are like ok with living in the stone age when it comes to mmos?

If they make an account-wide tab that tracks which achievements your account has, while preserving individual character's achievements, that's fine.
But I'm on my 4th character that's working on the "loot 1000 chests" achievements, and my 5th character that is getting all the Daedric generals, for example. If they made all achievements account-wide, they would have to add a "loot 10,000 chests" achievement that is global, as well as adjust a number of low-tier ones that would be far too easy to complete globally.

no, for you it is character progress
here Im pissed by you all like you by us for your idea to make this account wide - we have literally same feels about how it work now like you about our propose to improve this game QoL for us - we are on 2 same boats but flowing in opposite directions
for me this is player progress which I dont care if is character or not, for me this is simply player progress but ehh...thats why I never play in this game with more than only main

I do apologise that you’re “pissed” by people having a different opinion to you. I do understand your point I just don’t agree with it. You only playing your main is your choice, nothing the game does forces you to play only one character

Im not pissed that much by people having different opinion, sorry for misunderstanding but more Im by how those people are defending even more just their opinion even if we are giving great mid grount ready on plae how it improve our QoL without breaking your
and as I wrote then we are on literally same 2 boats but these 2 boats dont flow in same way but in 2 different ways
thats why everyone here is "flaming" this other group of players etc, we jsut want to have 2 different modes while we have literally same feeling about how it work now for us and about how our changes would affect you if it would be introduced without any these mid grouds which we proposed to really not affect you at all

Play your character. Earn your character's achievements on your character. If you're not willing to play the game on your alts, why have them?

well I want to play my alts but if you could read some more...you could find many of use have just no interest to play those alts even when we want...
we really want play our alts but we have no time to spent/waste that much time for mindless grind on every new alt - for you this is character progression....for us this is punish for playing alts while we want something with challenge without being forced for explorind most of this world as we are forced to do this or our alts are garbage for these newest challenges
and also if you coudl read we gad some really nice ideas for mid groud which would not affect every other player which is fine with current system, these changes could only improve QoL players like us without even touching you but for this you should know how to read with understand to do not pull out hasty conclusions which you have done now about us not willing play with alts

So pretty clear yes. W need them account wide.
Those of us that have been here since the beginning don't have issue with it, because it's still 10x faster than what it ever has been.xxthir13enxx wrote: »It is Precisely BECAUSE it has been 5years that NOW they Should apply this...those of us that have been here since the beginning THAT are tired of the same ol #>*+^% been there done that...
It is these kind of changes that keep long term players playing...I currently have Zero interest in NEW Necromancer class...(therefore no sale to ZOS) as I’m not going through all the bs Again with leveling...C'est la vie

If this happens a lot of peoples alt's will just become mules... leveling is already so fast compared to what it used to be and CP is shared so if skyshards get shared to, then we have max level characters with all the skills pretty much handed to us.
Maybe I just play different but I never made an alt and just focused on gathering skyshards and rushed to 50.
I'm all for convenience but the more account wide stuff we have the less appealing playing an alt is. Yes it takes time and work but imo the character building from 1-50 is a really fun part of the game. I kinda like old school mmos where people took pride in their hard work, time/effort they put into their characters. Where it was all about the journey not the destination.
I do however agree that xbox/ps4 players need something that would make finding them easier.
