Error 207 Support Group - What have you tried?

Hi folks,

So far it has been almost 3 hours of this and no comment yet from ZOS. There are clearly lots of other issues as well with the recent maintenance. Lets start a group on potential fixes or attempted fixes that haven't worked and see if we can come up with a work around together in the meantime.

It seems like it doesn't even attempt to contact the server so I wondered if it was a local file or local setting. No luck so far.

I have tried deleting the "Client" and "Game" folders in C/ProgramFiles/ZenimaxOnline/TheElderScrollsOnline, I was able to repair and patch up but got the same error still.

I am able to log in successfully to the EU server so I tried copying the same files above from that folder into my NA server. No dice.

I have tried resetting my router, disconnecting entirely and hopping on another network in hopes of getting a different IP. No luck.

    Any other ideas?

There is no work around for a closed account. Its a server side issue. They have to release the accounts, there is nothing we can do. AFAIK

That seems consistent with the results so far @Deluged‌

The "wait 10 minutes" in the popup message is clearly not a working feature. If its the actual account that doesn't work, then theoretically someone should not be able to log in to a locked account from another computer. Has anyone tried this?

This makes me think it still could be something on the actual computer though, from another thread:
I am receiving this same message and my email code was not working. I did all the fixes suggested and had no luck. I then tried to log into my account in my husbands computer and had no issues, logged in fine. We are using the same IP address and have our computers about four feet apart. It is my specific computer that will not log my account in. Crazy.

I have used a VPN to my office and tried to login across that. I received a different error (likely has to do with the VPN connection).

I have confirmed that it IS actually checking with the server, wireshark shows a handshake going on, however:
I have also entered an incorrect login name and it gives me the same Error 207.

I have used a different PC login (to isolate a file in AppData being the culprit). No different.

I have changed my password via management page, didn't help.

The only thing I have not tried is contacting my ISP and asking them to change my public NAT address in the hopes that Zenimax has simply blocked my IP.

That is super helpful! Thanks for trying and posting. I couldn't have tried half that stuff and its exactly what I would have liked to try.

Are you able to try logging in from another physical computer (rather than user on same comp)? I wonder if it is storing MAC addresses...

Anyone talk to anyone from zeni about this. Im sitting on hold waiting for someone to pick up. I dont get ehy they ignore all these posts. The gms just replied in another thread about 20 min ago in this forum so clearly they are around and just ignoring us.

Just verified this with my guild leader. Hi gave him my loggin info and he got right into my account. He suggested I unplug my rouyter for 15 min and hopes it will reset my ip address if that doesnt work, he suggest I call my service provider and have them change it manually. i cant believe this is all it took to fix.. OMFG

I wonder what info it is using to determine your computer, and can we change it?

I used a secondary NIC (just realized my mobo has two NICs), same issue. So it's not filtering by local machine MAC address. Has to be something in a configuration file on the machine.

Edit: Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was NOT able to login using this method.

GMs, we have done several proactive tests to fix this issue, as none of the support channels are working for us. Please see all of our above troubleshooting and advise us a fix for this issue. We are on hour 4 of an issue, and NO ONE from ZOS has even acknowledged the issue.

Im at my friends house right now and he is having this problem... Sooooo i went to my car and grabbed my laptop. Not only can i login to my account from my laptop on his network, but i was also able to login to his account from my latop. I would think that would mean this is an issue with a game file? Perhaps as a last resort... uninstalling and clearing every bit of ESO off your computer.. and then reinstalling would perhaps do the trick? He's not ready to take that leap yet... but good luck and i will let you guys know if we figure anyone else out.

I would be tempted to try clearing the cache files (under ESO folder) and rename usersettings.txt file. It's a client problem caused by patch.

We are very sorry about the issue you are getting when you try to login and we'll do our best to solve it!

As I said on our phone call I would like to ask you for a game consultant file.

Here is how to find and use it:
Click on the golden cog icon in the top right corner of the game launcher.
Under SETTINGS - LAUNCHER, select the ABOUT tab. This tab includes the current launcher version, minimum specifications, and information about Game Consultant.
Click the "Game Consultant" button beneath the tool description.
A new window will pop up. When it does, click "Run Tests." This may take a few minutes.
When the test is complete, a new window will pop up saying "Success!" The report saves itself as a text file called Report.txt in the My Documents folder.
To retrieve the file, click the "Open Report Location" button on the Game Consultant window, or click "Open Report" to simply view it.
After following these steps attach the file to the e-mail and send it to us as a reply. Before doing this, please try logging in to the game again and send us a report of what's happening again - If you are still getting multiple e-mails with the codes or if you are still getting the error 207.

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

    Kind Regards,
    The Elder Scrolls Online Team

I'm getting really sick of this. I was in closed beta with no problems logging in. Since pre-release I've had problems every F***ing day. Support has not called me or responded to my e-mail with any help.
This started as "unknown error" messages and "character not found", now it's this error 207. I feel robbed eso... I feel very robbed.
  • mavenmills
I don't get the 207 error myself, but just a shot in the dark that I would try:

    1) Make a copy of your game directory (Call it ESO_old or something)
    2) Uninstall the first copy
2b) Try and clean all 'remnants' of ESO - registry, my documents, appdata, folders, files, etc)
    3) Change your Computer Machine name
    4) Begin the Install (and Downloader) the game.
    5) Stop the download, close the app.
    6) Replace the "new" game files with the old copy you took in step 1.
    7) Try logging in

The only reason you wouldn't do this, is if your computer is part of a domain - then I would do this slightly differently.

I'm on a campus network, my roommate can play, and I can log into his computer as well. I've done pretty much everything possible to try to fix it. (not as easy to "restart" a campus-wide server)
    Thanks for the suggestion though.

Over 8 hours later, still nothing. Sigh. I have to feel sorry for their customer service people. They must be inundated with calls/e-mails to respond to.

I have to say though, this has probably been one of the worst openings to any MMORPG I've played. The game has a lot of potential, but things like this are hurting the game big time.

After waiting for like 10 hours this is the *** answer I get in response. I told them that it works on my *** laptop but I'm locked out on my computer that I can play on. Wtf guys way to look into the issue... ffs.

:Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.
