What do you want to see in the new Necromancer class?

Permanent dead thralls like in Skyrim. Running with two permanent zombies I can choose from any defeated NPC I want is a blast.

    OH YEAH!

even if they limit the power of them so we can't abuse, but i would go get a flesh colossus or that giant skeleton daedra thing!

    ahahahahaha

This might be a bit excessive and, I'm sure, might ruffle feathers, but what the hey?

Honestly, I would like to see a thing where casting Necromancer abilities, or being seen with an undead minion, in a settlement will constitute a crime and lead to the guards coming after you. I honestly can't see how... from a lore standpoint... that every faction and city is completely okay now with people running around with undead minions. It would be very jarring in my own opinion.

Indeed, and so it should be with socerers's summonings

A nice touch would be that some casts triggers an evil laugh. That would be the cherry on the pie!

I'd like necromancers be a class with some DD potential, but having an emphasis on being a pure support (not a clear healer/tank, but a debuff/buff bot). The idea could be expanded to: dd skill line, buff skill line and debuff skill line. This way, necromancers would not be like wardens (jack of all trades, masters of none) and we'd have a something a bit different on the new class.

The more i think about it, i really hope they can implement a different sort of necromancer, kinda like an Alteration / Conjuration Necromancer.

So its Magic and Disease based, with minions that are kinda like the Netch, which is a quick attack / heal / buff.

You, like many others, misunderstand the meaning of "Necromancer".
A NeCromancer is supposed to summon the dead, that's a characteristing you cannot deny.
What you mean is a NeGromancer.
The difference is explained by analizing the latin root of the 2 words: the first indicates a caster who deals with the dead, the second a caster dealing in dark magic.
So no, a NECROMANCER must raise the dead in order to be one.

This may sound new, but it is totally proper and pertinent to this topic.

While everyone but a small amount of blaspheme here knows that a necromancer DEMANDS a permanent pet, or even better permanent PETS, you are forgetting about another pet class: the socerer.
Now that we have the necromancer, noone needs a lame sorcerer.
I say to get rid of the sorcerer's permanent summonings and replace them with lesser, temporary ones.

I agree with this. Allow sorcs to pick from a set of different pets on a timer (say 60 secs or a bit longer). So we could have a pet for healing, one for tanking, and one for dpsing.

Also, I'm hoping we get a Necromancer pet that taunts. An undead brute or even a flesh atronach. Makes little sense to be a Necromancer and have undead minions and have the mobs rush past my pets to stab me in the face.

I agree to a point. Like Algorax said Necromancer summons pets that fight and protect the necromancer, not temporary.
BUT having a few temporary buff/debuffing pets could work. Like a bloated zombie. Could work like the bettles for Wardens. You summon in a bloated zombie (not targetable) it immediately rushes a group of enemies and explodes debuffing and dealing poison or disease damage.

That sounds okay. I hope it's a DD class but a debuff/DPS class would be cool. I don't like the jack-of-all-trades style of Warden. Yeah that sounds cool, if they don't make it pure DPS.

I think I might not have been clear. I know what is a necromancer and I understand it's significance behind that term.

I was thinking more in terms of how it will tie in with the current school of combat system (phy, disease and poison vs magic, Elemental). How do you then create a stamina based necromancer vs a magicka based one? How does it tie in with the lore schools of magic?

So altering bone structure to provide weapons or armor skills seems the most prudent for physical based combat. Or perhaps a disease based skill that heals, instead of kills. Or raising corpses that will attack a target Ala DoTs during a channelling phase? Perhaps conjuring a flesh atronach that four year old can do (wink) can be used as a temporary minion that lasts about a min before disintegrating?

All these examples do need some lore to it... So an Alteration / Conjuration necromancer is more likely, IMHO.

I say to get rid of the sorcerer's permanent summonings and replace them with lesser, temporary ones.
The reason for this is giving the necromancer its reasonable central role as pet class while also remembering the community that daedra summonings are ardly ever permanent since it requires a lot of power to maintain a daedra in another plane.

Daedric summoning is one of the worst talent trees, with 3 out of 4 skills with no reason to link them to the field of daedric summoning: they were just put there to fill.
So yes, we should exploit this chance to gain the clairvoyance so mane players lack and use that to improve the daedric summoning talent tree.
The improvement of it will resoult in a better enviroment for thenecromancer.

Thank you for your understanding of for your patience for tryinng to comprehend this if you didn't get it at the first attempt.

I use all the Daedric tree.

I would not object if Bound A was merged with Mage Light, but the Stam sorcs might get annoyed if the Fighters Guild did not have an alternative. I actually think ZOS should condense all the classes into 2 unique skill trees. Merging the overlap with base game skills and guilds. Making the classes more unique and also, maybe preparing for more options in spell / skill crafting in the future.

Anyway, what you are saying is, the Sorc should get yet another Nerf, and everyone that has a Pet Sorc needs to have their original intended class behind a pay wall.

That sounds like a PR nightmare.

Warden - Summonable x1 permanent through ultimate
Sorc - Summonable x2 permanent through skills
Necro - Summonable x5 on timer through skills and ultimate.
