What do you want to see in the new Necromancer class?

A skill to temporarily change weapons to a necro element which could be different in each morph... Like Oblivion or disease or something new and unique for the class

A debuff that would "invert" the enemy heal buffs giving damage instead, for some seconds

A debuff to "disarm" enemy players, or disable weapons/poisons for some seconds.

An AoE like the templars ritual of retribution, but full of debuff, since IMO a necromancer should be the opposite of a healer 😵

None permanent pets - I'm a fan of permanent pets, but not double baring them. Pet's on a timer sounds like a step in the right direction. Summon zombie/skeleton for 65 secs with a quick cast time. Also means no more pets in towns unless someone is actually trying to annoy people.

Ultimate Summon - I hope to have an ult ability to summon a flesh atronach or bone atronach. Similar to the lightning atronach that sorcs get. But i hope it moves instead of being stationery.

Ultimate Resurrection - An ability to resurrect a group of people wluld be a bit OP. Especially in pvp. A group of 3 or 4 Necromancers could rez a whole zerg. Can you imagine that? ((Shivers))
But an abilty to rez 1 team mate instantly sounds interesting. Add in a damage or resistance buff for a few secs after being rez and you've got a very interesting ultimate.

Coldfire abilities - This one is simple. I want to throw blue flames and use blue flamed powers like npc necromancers have. That giant blue flaming hand is sexy to me.

Buffs and Debuffs - I want the ability to buff pets. There's an ability that npc necromancers use that's a channel of blue energy they use on their pets that buff them. I want that. And they should also have disease themed debuffs.

A unique healing tree - I want a healing tree that's set apart from the other healers. Life draining heals similar to nightblade. Funnel health and Healing offering....but unique.

I can think of somethings, but the biggest thing I hope they implement is a morph that resurrects a certain amount of allies around you within a radius. Naturally this would be really strong and should have a high ult cost. Morphs could include various things like gain ult back per rez, lower cost but lesser radius and people rezzed, etc. I'm sure you can think of some pretty inventing ideas for it.

If you want to compare Necromancer to the Death Knight in World of Warcraft, there's Blood (Tanking), Frost (DPS), and Unholy (DPS/Support? It's been years since I played) Perhaps Necro could be something like that, a jack of all trades class like Warden. I hope it isn't like that though, and that it's mainly a DPS class.

    What do you guys think?

I won't mind as long as there are NOT pet summons. I don't want silly Sorc pets or Warden bears. My experience with both is that they are stupid and die when you need them.

I think the class will be a combination of Nighblade and Sorcerer.
I think they will have either permanent or temporary summons in the form of a skeleton, zombie or atronach (temp summons linked with killed enemies in the area that get back up and fight as a summon for a set amount of time before collapsing) or a permanent summon linked with some sort of combo system similar to how grim focus works when you get 5 points and the ability becomes spectral bow, they could also have a summon like the warden does that takes up a ultimate slot.
I think they will use single target and AOE dots, poisons, disease damage and siphoning abilities as well as apply de-buffs to enemies.

an overhaul to pets for all the classes in the whole game. Mostly I just dont want summons to be double barred anymore. Now's the perfect chance to fix this since necros are summon oriented classes.

    Propose solution
    • You can select and summon a pet/minion from a seperate bar
    • Summons are not tied to any bar so switching bars doesn't affect it
    • You can slot the corresponding skill on your bar, don't have to
    • Additionally to the existing pet commands, there should be "Pet stances". Pet stances visible on the HUD. Pet stances could be: "Passive"(No actions by the pet itself), "Defensive"(Attacks your attacker), "Supportive"(Precisely attacks your last attacked target)

    My wish list for Necromancers:

1.Plenty of disease and coldfire damage
    2. To be able to raise skeletons and flesh atronachs
    3. A ability to raise things we kill and make them fight for us.

I love love love pet builds

I’d be fine with temporary summons (like the Warden’s) that are not targetable and can’t be used to LOS. On the other hand, if ZOS would do the right thing and make ALL pets (incl. sorc pets and WW pets) untargetable, I’d be fine with the necromancer being a pet class. No one should be able to troll a BG match by rolling a premade group that kites around 16 pets.

A fully fledged tanking, healing and dps line. As structured as the Warden’s, but without the haphazard and questionable design choices.

I absolutely don’t want to see another 5-6 skills I have to keep on my bar(s) just for buffs. That was the worst part of the Warden and it still hasn’t been rectified.

A passive relating to the Ice Staff in one of the trees (that is ideally is uniquely toggle-able). This passive over-rights the Ice Staff taunt and makes the Ice Staff the BIS for the Necromancer.

So a Tank Necro may not want to have this passive, or a DPS Necro may want to have this passive. The result being that the Ice Staff is drastically changed to more a feasible DPS staff. Having a DPS in the group chilling enemies, slowing enemies, and other status effects might be worthwhile if the Ice Staff wasn't so terrible.

Also, Class Change Token is what I was above all else with Necro.

This may sound new, but it is totally proper and pertinent to this topic.

While everyone but a small amount of blaspheme here knows that a necromancer DEMANDS a permanent pet, or even better permanent PETS, you are forgetting about another pet class: the socerer.
Now that we have the necromancer, noone needs a lame sorcerer.
I say to get rid of the sorcerer's permanent summonings and replace them with lesser, temporary ones.
The reason for this is giving the necromancer its reasonable central role as pet class while also remembering the community that daedra summonings are ardly ever permanent since it requires a lot of power to maintain a daedra in another plane.

Daedric summoning is one of the worst talent trees, with 3 out of 4 skills with no reason to link them to the field of daedric summoning: they were just put there to fill.
So yes, we should exploit this chance to gain the clairvoyance so mane players lack and use that to improve the daedric summoning talent tree.
The improvement of it will resoult in a better enviroment for thenecromancer.

Thank you for your understanding of for your patience for tryinng to comprehend this if you didn't get it at the first attempt.

This might be a bit excessive and, I'm sure, might ruffle feathers, but what the hey?

Honestly, I would like to see a thing where casting Necromancer abilities, or being seen with an undead minion, in a settlement will constitute a crime and lead to the guards coming after you. I honestly can't see how... from a lore standpoint... that every faction and city is completely okay now with people running around with undead minions. It would be very jarring in my own opinion.
