Challenge for 2019...lose the words "meta and "BIS" (not even a word,lol)

As he title suggests....lets see if people can just stop referring to things as "meta" and "BIS" and just offer up sound advice/opinions/comments without such …..how do I put it....don't wanna use that "E" word.....umm, labels?
The words refer to such a do or die mentality that is killing a lot of MMO's or at the least making them toxic and not as fun. Its 2019...lets progress!

✭✭✭✭✭Meh, those terms have their uses. It's just that they are best qualified with the content people are using them to describe.
For example, there's a meta/BIS for trials tanks competing for leaderboard scores with 11 other people on the team. Not so much for dungeon tanks, who have a wider variety of sets to support themselves and the group for much lower content.
Rarely is there a set that's just BIS (best in slot) like Sload's was in PVP for nearly all DD builds right after Summerset, and those usually get nerfed fairly quickly.Edited by VaranisArano on January 3, 2019 2:00PM5 -

Not even just MMOs. This applies to any online game which has stats and gear. Even single player games.
It is just the way hard core gamers communicate the best items for maximum results.
The only real way to combat this, is to not play with those people who insist that you run these setups. Find like minded folks, and play with them.PS4-NA. You are entirely correct. These are not words, but acronyms. That are completely relevant in an MMO.
and BIS can include things like, for example, sharp/nirn/infused in PVP for different specific reasons. Running torugs with shock enchant? Maybe Infused is better. Don't have alot of spell dmg (like staff while running spinners)? then maybe sharp is better. Got a massive 2h sword and rally? Maybe nirn is better.

Both Meta and BiS are mathematicly and practily proven to be Metas and BiS, nothing to do with hive mind.
Rather, I would dare to say those that opposeing Meta and BiS are the ones effected by a hive mind mentality. Because I only hear the same things every time someone oppose the meta, but meta users can give a thousands reasons why to use metas.
