You went into Shor (or Kyne?). Those campaigns are pretty much always dead unless it is prime time. Try Vivec (Sotha, on some severs) next time if you want to see more action.

Yesterday I decided to visit Cyrodiil and actually go deep though the map and do some quests. I picked the fist campaign I saw - 7 days one. As a beginner I decided to pick up scouting daily quest and resource capturing.
I captured a couple mines, farms and then realized that.... I haven't seen a single player during all this time. Where is everyone?
I checked the map and noticed that my beloved AD was fighting for one of the keeps. I travelled there so to find out that they we're fighting 4 stealthed nightblades, who eventually wiped the group.
That's it. No more PvP encounters at all. None came to beat my ass when I was capturing resources.
My questions are:
1. Is this a "normal" condition of the Cyrodiil or I chose the wrong day to go there (Christmas)
2. Does the campaign type(duration) affect the instance or the instance is one for all campaigns? If there are different instances, which one is more populated?
3. Do most people run nightblades in PvP these times?
4. Is the only way to get some action is to join a group and go fight some nightblades???

Not enough people want PVP as an end game mechanic.
They should have stuck with just the arena system for PVP.

Actually there's quite a few people that still prefer pvp for end game. The problem is Zos has ignored the performance issues for far too long and has gotten to the point where the lag and performance is so bad it becomes unplayable even at 1-2 bars population.
It's bad enough for experienced well geared players, but for new players it must be the worst experience so it's at the point now where they can't get new players and old ones are just fed up and leaving in droves.
It's unfortunate because pvp has some of the best diversity in combat and builds mixed with taking and defending keeps makes for some exciting gameplay, but nothing we can do can make Zos care about their game or their customers.
