does SA scale off weapon damage if I rebuild magicka?
that'd be funny if I could keep 2h and use templar skills that scale off of my forward momentum buff.

Soul Assault only kills potatoes and afk players. If I block on a templar it doesn't even do anything, and the channel leaves the caster open to a burst and can kill them faster than they can kill you. If they want to not die in the burst they'd have to cancel by swapping bars but then it's a wasted ultimate. Really not good in pvp.

Now that medium armor is becoming somewhat relevant again, this thread is necro'd. (cause squishy MA users that rely on evasion are most effective potential target for soul assault,not really an imbalanced thing, the ult has perfect counterplay in 1v1 scenarious)
I'm not even suprised honestly. I have no problem with this ability ultimate since they removed the massive snare from it.

it should be used as an execute on a stunned player while it cant be blocked

It is very strong. I've been using it with my glass cannon magplar(war maiden, julianos, slimecraw). Put up ele drain, purifying light, hit em with a javelin, then soul assault. I drop squishy builds from 100% to 0. It's pretty easy to counter though, i mostly use it as an execute or to put pressure on nubs that overextend.

It’s still strong on a good build. And used properly it’s very effective. Although it’s not as OP as some people say and not as useless as others say. What bothers me about it is that is the ultimate Xv1 ultimate. But even in a 1v1 if you get tagged with one of those from a heavy armor magplar while you’re in medium it’s gonna be a tough recover against a good player.

Soul assualt is awesome on the above magplar build. 90k tooltip

You don't use it until you have the opportunity, you don't really want to use it when it enemy CAN turtle. You hit him with javy, total dark, purifying light. Don't want to fill health hit him either. Hit him when you can get a radiant on him right after.

It's super good, and quite balanced. Sucks of ur stam in medium and right on top of the soul assault caster though...

Agree! not even an epic Xv1 tool anymore, glad that *** is gone.

Also, most people forget you cant do *** while you have that channel up, have yet to be killed by soul strike in a scenario where im not being outnumbered by the factor of 5.
And mostly the people who run soul strike in cyro are 50k hp templar healers in reactive, plague doctor and earthgore which tickle you for like 200 a tick in light armor.

I find Soul Assault to be most annoying when outnumbered rather than in 1v1 scenarios honestly -- sort of like Jesus Beam. When someone happens to use it, I just reapply Forward Momentum, Vigor, and keep dodge rolling until line of sight is broken (usually easy in BGs). Then again, I play in heavy armor so I can take a few ticks of it.
