I enjoyed this event and I'd call it 'good' for me.
I was fortunate enough not to have to deal with the endless queue bugs, however; that would have definitely changed my opinion. I also didn't worry about or bother with running dungeons on as many alts as possible. I only have my sorc, warden, and a lowbie NB who was my first character. I ran them all through dungeons every day. Sorc I would usually just queue solo, because heals is almost instant. The other two I usually poked my guild chats to see if people wanted to go and got a group together in no time. No issues queueing solo or in a group of four.
I never really log onto my alts (even though I should, for writs and mount training) so it was kind of nice to have a reason to log on them and play different playstyles.

    Thoughts:

The dungeon finder was an absolute disaster. Even when it got "fixed" it was still hit or miss. Given that this happened last time around, there is really no excuse for the failure. ZOS should feel a level of embarrassment above the normal but lower than for what the let the wobbler do to combat in the morrowind and nerfmire updates.

There are so many events this time of year I felt a little burn out on this one. This was especially true after the witchmother event that I found unexpectedly (after last year) good this year. I kinda hope there is a new twist on the new life event with the addition of some actual quest content. I am hungry for an "event" that feels like it has some content even if it is not much content.

Ain't nobody wants to have to do an actual randomly selected dungeon. I know this is probably an attempt to force good players into running bad players who have qued for dlc stuff though tough content but it is just not going to happen so drop it and let people play the way they want. So much acrimony about the whole FG1 thing.

Thank you for removing the garbage dye stamps from the loot and making all the loot not garbage.

On the other hand, I don't like the coyness about what is actually in the table and the top rng being all pets was pretty meh. I know, supposedly there was an all mount or all house prize but that is not really a thing if nobody wins it.

Overall, a mixed experience for me.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

    Meh.

The rewards were decent (for other people at least...), though the “costumes” mention seemed like a lie. I was glad to get DLC motifs instead of trash like Mercenary or Assassins League, but other than those motifs I mostly got stuff that didn’t feel very exciting (very few Undaunted Keys, a few Treasure Maps and Surveys, and mainly Undaunted Plunder). In the end I did end up receiving 2 pets, but both were pets that I had actively chosen not to purchase previously; however, I was absolutely excited to get something better than Plunder even if I probably won’t ever actually use the pets. I wished the Chef and Blacksmith costume (and some new unique ones) showed up, but c’est la vie. My biggest issue was the Dungeon Finder itself. When I was able to get a group of 4 competent guild mates together, we blazed through dungeons. However, when I wasn’t, it seemed like 70% of the time I got DLC dungeons, often with people who had zero clue what they were doing, too little skill to ignore mechanics, and who were unwilling to pay attention when you tried to explain things to them. After the mid-event maintenance, we also had the issue of the Dungeon Finder effectively dying every night at around 9p EST. Having 11 toons and wanting to get the most out of this event was exhausting and generally not fun. It felt like a chore, between the nightly broken Dungeon Finder, constant DLC dungeons, incompetent players (who I’m assuming don’t usually run dungeons, but this event required it), and other plethora of issues (e.g. chat dying half the time you try to switch to Guild Chat from Group Chat). Add onto that having to track 20 hour timers for 11 characters, rather than being able to simply rely on the daily reset, and I was very, very glad to see this event come to an end. Considering how much I love dungeons, how frequently I do them, and how often I chose to PUG all three pledges (rather than waiting for guild groups), I was really negatively surprised with and disappointed by this event.

I have to say mixed or good for me.

Good: Did around 40+ run with 7 characters, got 4 pets (am I lucky?), also group with strangers and found most of the player in game are actually very friendly!

Mixed: The FG1 teleporting have ruined the point of 'random' dungeon... But i have to agree getting a DLC dungeon really is painful to go through especially when I'm playing my low level character..

Anyway I'm still very thankful for all the motif and the 4 free pets!

Had a fun time with my friends

the few times I pug'd the event it was a nightmare. Not the grps fault, they were pleasant and helpful. I was however unable to que as a dps for the whole of the event, eventually switching to a healer role after hr+ ques

grp finder desperately needs an overhaul before this even comes around next yr

I'm really tempted to say "Good," but that might sound a little snarky :D It was just nice to have some reasonable space for questing without having to dodge the AD undead-farming hordes.

Good idea to get people into trying dungeons. I enjoyed helping new players get through their first few dungeons.

But it did shine a spotlight on just how broken the game is. That in itself would not be bad of ZOS had an appetite for improving the game, but of course all we got was the usual platitudes from the forum drones, 'we're looking into it', and a 5 hour outage that fixed nothing anyway.

So once I'd got my 12 tokens (in 2 days as I'd farmed the CWC event) I stopped playing ESO.

I'm pleased that I got a few motif pages I didn't have. But getting them was stressful. I had one or two good relaxed dungeon runs with guildies, but due to the Steam outage and various other issues, timing did not allow for me to do that every day and because of missing ticket opportunities I *had* to do randoms when I could, which meant pugs, which were uniformly awful. My hands and wrists are in so much pain after this event due to aggravated carpal tunnel. When I can take things at a relaxed pace, it doesn't wreck them like this. When I have to zerg through a dungeon to keep up with people who are sprinting all the way, it does. So that was not only physically stressful but mentally as well, what with fake tanks getting me killed and all the rushing and nobody bothering to stop for chests and people just rush rush rushing. That's what this event created, rushing. There was absolutely no incentive for people not to.

Don´t get me wrong, i rly love ESO. But especcially this event felt to me like not made for the players, instead just made as advertisement method to get ppl to play ESO.

    - it was clear from the start that dungeon finder will fail
    - only a few ppl got promised rewards
    - it wasn´t worth the trouble to wait for the dungeon finder and complete partly lenghty dungeons for motifs that fell in price to 2k already
    - random groups were sometimes rly anoying
    - 20 hours cooldown locked you to specific times instead of just making it a daily
    - only grind/reward based, nothing new... not even undaunted stations were decorated

-and from a selfish perspective: it was odd sometimes to carry ppl through dungeons and they get better rewards with a level 10 healer who has not 1 single heal skill on bar

To sum it up: not worth the trouble. I feel like i wasted my time for false promises. And again (same with last event) a lot of ppl arent happier after the event. The good thing for me: i finally made my Sorc Healer ready.

I like random dungeons with PuGs: good or bad ones, low level or high.
I don't like waiting in queue normally; I hate the queue not working full stop.
Haven't even opened all my boxes yet (not hopeful for anything good), but my expectations are so low that it wouldn't make the event "bad"

I was terribly excited for this event, I had 13 characters all ready (6 tanks, 2 healers & 5 dps) I was looking forward to earning some frostbane pets, I had honestly thought I had lowered my expectations of my rewards given that costumes, mounts, houses and the jackpot were all available.

I had a few good runs with PUGs (a lot of newer players which was expected and I performed the role I assigned myself whilst being polite) had a couple of bad ones (from max cp players, which is ironic)

So I managed to obtain 76 boxes altogether, I had missed some on the early days as getting a group was somewhat difficult & missed half of my roster on the last day due to planned maintenance over the last 4 hours of the event. My rewards were terrible, 75 motifs and a Haj Mota pet. Which is absolutely depressing but I understand that isn’t necessarily ZoS’s fault.

What really got me down was the complete lack communication from ZoS regarding many, if not any, details regarding the event. Sure they mentioned they were going to perform a maintenance on the Saturday to try and fix dungeon finder but this issue has been known to them for over a year, I don’t get why nothing was done beforehand knowing they planned another event? And forget about getting details of all the prizes available, they mentioned costumes but I’ve failed to find a single post on these forums about someone getting one.

Look I totally understand that ZoS does a lot of work and I love that they do events now, it’s a great way to split up time & attention between updates. I love this game but I’ve never been this disappointed with its performance as I have with this event, such a wasted opportunity & has put a bit of a downer on a lot of people, which isn’t exactly what ZoS should want giving the “Free to play week” has started straight afterwards

I really wasn't expecting much from the boxes. I was on, more or less, to spend time with friends and help any guildies that needed help completing a dungeon, and was happy to make sure that several people got their first Zaan helm. Their excitement was the best reward. Except for the maintenance cutting a few hours off the end of it, we had lots of fun during this event, all in all.

Got stuck in normal fungal 2 for 45 minutes with a full random group 2 CP 810 1 CP 430 and a CP 654 and we couldn't get past the second boss its would have been funny if I didn't waste almost an hour of my time there ended up having to leave

I'm not heated over it, but I only have 3-4 hours a night to log on and this years event I was playing the someone declined game for most of it. It's all good though I stayed busy with other things to keep me occupied. Until next year...
