I only did the event with guildies, so that part was fun and easy. The rewards were lackluster for those of us that only had a couple characters.

    Good Post.

The event started out well for me, but last couple days this bullcrap FG1 porting EVERY GAME was ruining the experience for me. I'd be subject to 15 minute wait every game because I would leave when the group ported to FG1.

Prizes were mostly motifs. Not bad. But it KILLED the motif prices in guild traders, so that a down side.

The good part though was the increased activity. That was fun. And as a result of this event, I now have a new playable character I made from a mule. My first ever Healer. So, I'm happy with that.

    So overall.... MIXED

Couldn't get a single queue pop for two days until they fixed it. Then it was one damn DLC dungeon after another. I did a handful of them - through gritted teeth - and then I went to play Project Zomboid instead.
All in all, nice event. It even saved me 1080 crowns, because I was so busy whacking zombies in another game, I totally forgot to log in and buy that pseudo-Roman outfit. :p

Yeah - I had fun really. Got a sweet group for normal Fang Lair which I hadn’t done at all - all other groups were chill and solid for a bunch of other normal dungeons - Scalecaller, Spindle II, COA II, COH I and others.

I used to to do vet pledge dungeons a lot - but only vet Scalecaller lately.

It was nice to rek some normal dungeons- but getting solid groups was key.

I wasn't really interested in the boxes. I just wanted the event tickets so I did something I've never done before........I solo'd several non-DLC dungeons. If FG1, SC1, BC1, or DC1 was the pledge, I solo'd them and got my ticket and key and I was happy with that. I did run a few randoms with my guild and got a few boxes but I was more happy with being able to solo dungeons (I am just an average player).

I had to work a lot of the time I normally get to play so I didn't get to experience much.

I also figured I owned so many of the potential drops already I wouldn't get much at all.

Didn't experience any issues (because I only did 1 or 2 randoms)

So I gotta rate mixed; the rewards definitely didn't motivate me (especially after last year's experience)

Despite the first day glitches, I had a fairly good experience with the random dungeon finder. I was fortunate to be placed into a lot of good groups of friendly players. With a few exceptions, I found people were really decent to one another where the experienced players waited for the newer players to complete quest dialogue before charging off to the next boss. In a couple of cases, I was dropped into a DLC dungeon that I had never attempted before. When I told the group in chat that this was my first time in the dungeon, one of the more experienced players took the time to stop before each boss and explain the mechanics to me so I had I clue what was going on. Overall, I had a pretty good time despite not getting any good loot in the mystery boxes.

One suggestion I would offer for next year would be to give additional rewards (extra boxes?) as an incentive for completing the much longer DLC dungeons.

My main playday destroyed because of the GF.
Slow queues even after the "fix".

Feels like a week or 10 days would be an better length of the event
That you could switch to an easier/quicker dungeon was just silly.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I'm going to be frank: this event brought out the worst of us.

I've seen high CP players scream at low-bies much much more (usually bringing up the event) because group finder led us into a DLC dungeon like Moon Hunter Keep. I've seen people screaming at each other over half the team going into Fungal Grotto 1 (FG1) for an easy box without telling the other half. I've seen a lot of people losing their minds and getting relatively more impatient at random groups versus when there wasn't this event. I've seen relatively much more DPS players faking to be tanks and healers due to the role system of the group finder - causing really awkward and heated in-group moments - and then their excuse is "I need mah box brah".

And then there was that time that group finder broke so hard that a lot of people started screaming in zone chat over it. People argued over zone chat on the details of group finder: how it worked and et cetera.

"scream" as in ALL CAPs by the way.

And this event is where I've seen the most dungeon rushers ever in public: using all sorts of hilarious ways to force the entire team to "follow their lead". Some of them would list out commands saying "DO THIS", "NO YOU IDIOT" and so on. Some even walked to their death and blamed others.

Since there was FG1, it took far longer for me and a lot of others to get pledges done; in a single day, I had joined 10 random groups where there would at least be one person trying to pressure everyone else to tp into FG1. It was to the point where I chose to solo dungeons for the sake of my pledges, which thank goodness I can.

So, honestly, this event was a disaster in my experience: it brought out so much public negativity, and it highlighted ZoS's incapability in Multiplayer Game Design 101 with Group Finder being the pinpoint of it all.

Honestly, so much of this nonsense could've been avoided if ZoS actually implemented any of the given feedback for the Group Finder over the years like having separate categories for random dungeon queues like one for all the newbie dungeons and another for all the DLC dungeons (which often have more complicated mechanics).

Also, there should've been a separate dungeon queue specifically for this event: like, it's a no-brainer that those who are normal random dungeon goers and those who are only interested in the event's rewards will clash hard - regardless positively or negatively. This has happened in much older MMORPGs, and Korean MMORPGs have avoided this much better - really highlighting the incompetence on ZoS's end.

So, I really really hope that ZoS learns from this and from all the people making topics now debating that Fungal Grotto tp thing, but I fear that this lesson will be taken like the rest: too late.

Generally though. plenty of threads to Discuss your opinions on things. This is more just to state what your overall experience is. Mostly since I see mostly lots of negative things about it and people complaining that people complain. Feel free to comment all the significant pros and cons from your experience with it.

For me I would say it's mixed.
    Starting with the good:
    1. The rewards were generally better than last years event. Atleast to me. I mostly got a lot of dye stamps last years event. Though I probably won't really use the motifs I got or the 2 pets I got I think the rewards were done better this time around and there's alot less actual trash. (though I think there could be more of the trash items if that meant a longer event. Though not totally reverted to the 500 bad dyestamps)
    2. It was mostly fun. the actual dungeons that is.
Things I think should be changed though not really necessarily BAD or GOOD:
    1. How you get rewards. I think this should be altered to be like the tickets and you just get reward box when you get the ticket from last box. Just how the dremora plunder skulls worked in Witches Festival this year.
    2. Longer Event. I think it should have been longer even if there weren't GF issues. It wasn't even quite a full week.
    3. Lower amount of tickets per day. To go with the event being a little longer, maybe less event tickets to go with it. one or two per day. Could event make so the first time you do it it gives more (say 3) and then the rest of the time is less tickets.
things I think are just bad.
    1. False advertisement. Correct me if I'm wrong here, But I don't believe there were any costumes in the rewards this year while the page said there was.
    2. The Bugs. Same bugs as GF tool has had as always, but with no new way of how the event works to make it so it isn't too bad of an issue. (Like making so we just get the reward box from what ever dungeon/pledges or something of that nature as well as random dailies.)
    3. Bad Behaviour. Because we have to do it as random daily we're stuck dealing with alot of players we don't want to deal with and they don't want to deal with us. Such as the FG1 porting, Kicking people, Running through all the dungeon/mob/boss skipping and generally acting overly entitled.

I've probably missed a bunch in every category. But that's good enough for me really.

    It was fine.

My experience with pugs was about the usual. The problems I encountered weren't "event-related". Mostly just the occasional obnoxious player who wanted to kick others for petty reasons. That being said: I also rolled tank for 90% of the event so I wouldn't have to deal with fake tanks. So I imagine that had a lot to do with it as well.

I also only play one character. So I was only able to take advantage of this event once per day. Which is something that kinda pisses me off to be honest. This event favors players who enjoy creating alts while players like me who like to focus on a single character got shafted by comparison.

But that's a different topic for a different thread. ^^

didn't get all the rewards I was hoping for. was NOT a fan of "someone denied invite" bug. yes. bug. not only it shouldn't happen in a premade, but for me it would always happened on a stage AFTER ready check. where everyone visibly hit yes (icons turned white) notice would change to forming group.. and then suddenly "someone denied invite" did NOT enjoy the 20 hour random cooldown, but.. that's not even specific. event just exacerbated all the things I hate about it.

did enjoy getting rewards I did get. did enjoy getting some skill points for alts. did enjoy running stuff with my guildies.

    so.. yeah.. mixed.

P.S. have grown to appreciate certain "fake tanks" you know the ones that are basically dps, but with a taunt. like.. I genuinely didn't know CoA2 can go that smoothly and relatively quickly. unfortunately, its highly unlikely that these particular fake tanks will queue up for normals outside of undaunted event, which means the only fake tansk I'll get from now on are the dps without the taunt or ability to survive pretty well while dishing out the pain. ah well.

the days it worked I could not play due to other commitments. when I could play 'unable to join', 'someone declined' etc......

While I can get that people with time on their hands enjoyed it - I missed almost all of it. sad_face

My experience is I waited all year to do it, getting my alts ready to run dungeons on all of them just because I enjoyed it so much last year, aaaaaand... on the first day, everything being so broken meant all the other people I run dungeons with checked out. So it was up to me to solo queue if I wanted to do the rest of the event, and the long queues on my DPS meant I wound up only doing it on my healer. Oh well.
