Guild traders are too spread out. They don't want an auction system... fine.

But reduce the number of locations and put these traders in specific "trading" cities. Enough with jumping around to 10-15 zones looking for an item. Each faction should have 1 trading city that all traders are located.

they did that in everquest, first mmo to use the concept of a "guild trader hall" AKa bazaar 15 000 players in the same zone totally unplayable. later SOE AKA everquest revamped the bazaar with the option to hide all the traders exept the specific one that you were trying to buy from when you looked into a trade window like the one in the FF14 UI above.

simplified version of trader will result in a market board. it owuld also force players to play a game called: who can undercut the most. its fun but the almighty money burners woldnt enjoy the idea of losing pixels

There's enough traipsing around and convoluted searching as it is, we don't need any more kiosks to add to the tedium.

I'd rather revamp the system. Although my personal view is that such a core part of any MMO as the trading system shouldn't be locked behind restrictions like guild membership and then further restricted by an artificial bidding process (which is actually an auction system and as such incompatible with the wishes of all those opposed to an auction house!), we are where we are and some players like the present system so I'd retain it but suitably revamped.

Buyers should be able to search properly for items centrally, and either go to the remote kiosk to collect their purchase or else pay extra to have it delivered in the mail. EQ2 players will be familiar with such a system and it works well there.

Sellers should have access to a NPC merchant in the main trading locations through whom a small number of items could be listed at a high rate of commission that would be shared between the guilds trading in those locations. It would open up trading to casual traders who can't, or prefer not to, join trading guilds as well as members of those guilds that were unsuccessful in that week's kiosk auctions.

The tutorial could include a quest introducing new players to the NPC merchant in their starting city, and ultimately introducing the concept of trading guilds.

I agree. The EQ2 system worked pretty well. I'd be in favor of it here.

    Yep. Normal Auction House thanks.

Oh yes, I'm well aware that's not going to happen, since ZOS has given the guilds such a powerhouse setup. But of all the issues with this game (eh, most of which I personally don't experience - I'm just referencing the stuff on the forum here) the MAJOR MAJOR one for me is the guild trader setup.

It's ugly, it's elitist, it's "special snowflakeness"; and it makes me wonder if the system is in place because some of the "early beta" etc folks actually paid real money for the system to get set in stone. I hate it. It will be the main reason I quit playing eventually.

Just give us a real AH. Like every other MMO out there.

Even though they won't do it, I prefer an auction house style myself. I hate having to be a part of numerous trade guilds, pay their dues, etc just to sell my goods. Not only that but then I'm limited on how much I can sell so now I have to join multiple of them.

There needs to be a small expansion area that serves as a marketing district. Here, we have guild kiosks, crafting, writ turn-ins, bankers, and all appropriate merchant npcs. AND a very centralized wayshrine.

Don't need all the kiosks here, but if there are new ones this would be a favorable way to handle it, I think. I avoid purchasing at kiosks because my time is better spent than chasing all over Tamriel.

Edit: And there should be mailboxes in this district that prevent us having to logoff/logon or change zones just to get our damned mail -- one of the most absurd time-wasters in the game, especially with the FOUR-YEAR-LONG problem with loading screens.

Edit 2: And this district would automatically disable combat pets and mounts. No more flappies blocking the way (or bears standing on countertops).

I think something like this that has say 5 guild traders that gives traderless guilds a kiosk for a doy or week on a rotation....kind of like an open flea-market etc.

The guild trading system is garbage, from the obviously horrible interface to the ever-escalating bidding wars with crown sellers for a terrible location in the middle of nowhere. There's plenty of other opportunities to waste my time and gold in this game that don't annoy the living hell out of me.

This is from over 3 1/2 years ago... Unbiased Poll? Trader System, Improved Trader System, Personal Kiosks, Auction House, Something Else

Players have been asking for an upgrade and suggesting solid improvements to the system since it was implemented. The fact that nothing has changed and it's even been stated by community ambassador types that there is no intention of the dev's changing it, I've given up any hope for it to become something better than it is. Add-ons are not an acceptable solution.

I actually think they like that it's turned into a bad game of monopoly. Of course the very vocal minority of winners love it as well. I'm sure crown sales have absolutely nothing to do with it either.

I wish they'd get rid of the guild trader system entirely but they will not because they are in love with the unique terribleness of this one. So I just wish they'd add more trader kiosks or get rid of the stupid blind auction system. It's ridiculous for a good-sized guild with active membership and sales to go without a trader because someone outbid them for a kiosk, that's a crappy thing to do to people.

Making the bid public would make the case thousand times worse:
Competing guilds would just wait to the final moment to see how much other guild did bid on the spot and then drop a higher bid. Making the bid amount public will not guarantee active trade guilds winning the bid.
This would only cause a bid price increase on popular spots with highest traffic and would make sure that smaller trade guilds barely never would get any trade kiosks, because public bid would make it easier for bigger guilds outbid smaller guilds.

big trade guild = money burner who spend their lives in the cash shop.

small trade guild everyday peopel trying to get the stuff happening without using the cash shop....

if a money burner cant get a good 1-2-goodnight in the face and realise that spending real cash is not the way to go in a video game its a good thing

Moving the out of the way traders to more high traffic areas would be helpful. I only shop in the places that have several traders in a convenient location so that I can avoid load screens.

What we really need is a search function. It is just painful to have to search through pages and pages of listed items over several vendors. I just want to play the game!

    If PC:

    +
    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info928-MasterMerchant.html

And use TTC's website (https://tamrieltradecentre.com) to guide you to the right spot. Just pray the item is still there.

good thinng but mods should never be a final solution to what bethesda and zenimax could fix in 3 weeks

To be honest, I am not sure did I understand your message correctly, so excuse me if I understood something wrong.
    But anyways:

Being big trade guild doesn't mean that spending real money is involved. Of course there may be some trade guilds who are counted to be big enough and they are spending real money for getting gold, but that doesn't mean that all big trade guilds are "money burners" as you describe. Many guilds I know do have working system with active traders and their requirements and donations & possible lotteries are making sure that they can afford high bids without spending any real cash to the store. Some bigger trade guilds have gathered enough reserves for sustain high bids for years without needing to use any real cash in order to sustain ridiculously high bids. That's not a joke, that's reality in game right now.

Also my originally point was that opening bidding system and making it public will definitely not play in favor for those which you describe as "small trade guild everyday people trying to get the stuff happening without using the cash shop".
Because when thinking a moment, who in this case is higher likely to get a trader? Bigger trade guilds which are running the system efficiently vs those who are just "trying to get the stuff happening."? No need to be a rocket scientist to figure this out.

We have already had a "taste" of what a "public bid" would be like.
Remember when Kiosks were first introduced to the game, anyone in your guild roster could see your bid.
So "spies" were rampant and you had to set your alarm, ( for me at CST it was 5 A.M), to get your bid in as the traders changed to insure that no one could see it. It was HORRIBLE!
Thank You ZoS for changing it!!
But point is, the system itself works, I like the trader system as compared to WoW, it just needs some TLC.
Sadly a LOT of things in ESO needs some TLC but losing hope it will happen.. :(

    Add more guild kiosk's
First off: anyone calling for a global AH on a megaserver is an idiot, I don’t care for the massive price disparities that pop up because of them that means I can’t sell common items for more than vendor price and I can’t buy uncommon items for anything less than an arm

And back to the question, yes a few more traders would be nice. I’d like to see some out-there quest hubs have a little 2-3 kiosk market that’d make them worth going back to every now and then. The starter towns would be better off with 3+ traders (looking at you Vulkhel Guard) while final cities get more to match the capital cities number of kiosks

EVERY guild should have access to the market...

i love the idea that the more you bid moves you closer to the wayshrine.
