Yup, like when you go to a crafting survey location.

This has probably already been said, but the easiest way to do these quests is to find a node without mobs and camp it. It takes a few minutes for it to respawn enough times for you to finish, but you get your quest done without having to compete and run around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Unfortunately this happens all the time OP ! When farming or opening chests as well -

Some people are opportunists or just plain rude. I have learnt to just step back or move on because it's not worth getting mad - it won't make them less ignorant and just spoils the game for you

What I do now though is be more wary of helping others After running through a couple of s delve helping them kill enemies and they they keep grabbing all the chests for themselves - it kinda spoils the fun and causes resentment So fool me once as the saying goes !

I don’t get into the node stealing thing, but one thing irritates me more.

Crow incursions. People that Ultimate dump them.

No need. Heaven forbid you get a couple light attacks in instead.

Kinda weird statement given when 1 incursion stops another appears... Just slot speed skill mount up and watch the sky for incursions to appear and just get there asap than cast 1 AoE, I had no problems doing that quest even at the start of event.

Never expect decency from anyone on a MMO, or go and play Eve Online, they would absolutely love you OP ;)

If people are decent then good.

Should we perhaps not expecr decency regardless of whether its in a game or IRL?

Correct. If we happen to run across decency in our travels (game or IRL) then it is a pleasant surprise.
But to actually expect it, will most likely leave you in an almost constant state of disappointment.

    Two things problematic here ...

One nodes are free for alls and mobs die in seconds so clearing and taking isn't hard to do when collecting any nodes for dailes this is a none issue as plenty of nodes

Two the ones where you see little markers are a *** that's a race to get done

A player like me who wants to do his daily but only get 15 minutes to play has to be a little selfish

Would be better if when on a node with a marker picking it will register for others stood right on top of too

Personally I don't blame players for a bad game design. All of daily quest items should be instanced separately so you could not "steal" items in front of other players nose. If some one is to blame - it is ZOS who (deliberately or not) designed quest that way. They also did the same with Murkmire's prorogue daily quests. I don't know what is the reason behind it but I very much doubt it was accidental.

    Oh noes, somebody is disgusted.

Instead of blaming the player though, one solution is multiple players can mine the same node and each get a reward. The node will fade away 1 second after it is no longer being harvested by anybody.

    Problem - Bots.

I choose to have the node 'problem' remain as is.

I know that everyone wants to complete their daily quests and get the goodies. Unfortunately, some people are just plain opportunists and don't play well with others. In the past several days, over three times, I've been standing over a clockwork city scavenger item that I needed, fighting the Clockwork city mechanical beings that were guarding it, and someone came in and grabbed it, while I was fighting. Since they weren't fighting, they had no trouble picking it up! I'd say that it was mostly new players, but one of the opportunists had a character score of 810, which indicates that they've been doing this a while. People need to come out of the PVP mode for regular quests and daily quests!

Rick, I have been complaining about this since day one.

    Resource hackers.

They always will come in and steal what you believe rightfully belongs to you.

It's just too bad ZOS didn't make a friendly memento to interupt players in pve for at least 5 seconds that stuns them so you can pick up your resource node.

That will teach those 5 year olds a lesson.

I use the mudball collectible on people who steal a node while I'm fighting the thing guarding it.

It doesnt interrupt them. They still get the node.

But it gets the point across. I'm a fellow player. And I think you're a jerk.

Invisibility potions cost much less than mudballs. You could use invis to open the chest without aggro, then you wouldn't need the mudballs. Win?

I would blame the developers, not the players.

They were the one who designed the current system. Expecting players to stop and ask if you were interested in a nearby node while fighting before grabbing it themselves likely isn't going to happen. I've actually passed on a node before next to someone fighting only for them not to have even wanted it when they were done. Then of course someone else came along and grabbed it.

ZOS designed the game and did not take into account rude players that take advantage of unfortunate situations, mistakes, and poor decisions that other players make when farming items. True.

It's not the player's fault that they are forced to harvest that node while someone else is locked out of it, or engaged with a monster that attacked them.

I blame those players. 100%. Most players are not ***. The game does not need to be designed assuming they all are.

It’s just marketing. If you spend time there while using free eso plus trial, the longer you *** around waiting for spawns, the likelihood you may buy the dlc or pay for eso plus goes up. Bad design but it is what it is.

No Rich wants to harken back to the days of Everquest where every single fricking thing is public.

NPC: Hero! you must journey to the ancient lost city of whyyouwannadisme there you will find the cursed crown of....

Player: You mean that place across the road that has 250 idiots bunny hopping around it all the time?

It's an idiotic and tired MMO trope, that only geriatric basement dwellers still like and even then if you could get the truth out of them they are not that into it.

Most people do not want a dungeon filled with 400 other people they either want to go their with their group or try it alone.

EQ is dead, the current version of that Pantheon has made the decision that while grouping will be mandatory *** dungeon areas just cause problems.

    Yet Rich keeps holding on
ZoS needs some new blood in several key areas badly.

Yeah, but at least in EQ it was easy to deal with kill stealers. Just round up a bunch of mobs, run them over to the offender, root them, and port out. :D

Ugh it's so irritating when people do that. I had one guy following me and he would race ahead to pick up any nodes I was headed towards. Just to be a jerk. I would turn around and go the other way, and he would follow. I didn't say anything because what good would that do, but it makes it no fun. -_-

The only people to blame here are the designers of the daily quest. Period
