One idea I had was that the target skeletons in our houses could start attacking us, that would be quite a shock initially. Or perhaps they move location just a little, follow us around haha.

All Argonians will be replaced by walking handbags
All Orcs will be replaced by bottle openers
All Elves will be replaced by hot air
Combat skills will be simplified for all classes - you now just have stab, punch, heal, tickle, step on toe and box ears.
All weapons will be replaced by giant spoons
Fish now walk on the land and rabbits swim underwater
Houses now have keys. If you lose them NPC blacksmiths can make you a new set for half a million gold pieces
Jewellery crafting master writs are now really great
Carrots grow on trees - like the magic one at Castle Claws
Murkmire recipes are now included in every single drop - metheglin is now very, very rare indeed.

I’d love for NPC’s to be in my homes, makes them feel less empty. On that note..
- Jack-in-the-boxes disguised as locked chests in overland
- Random NPCs go squatting in our houses

This would be great for witches event, too

It's going to mobile.
They could announce that they forgot to add for Murkmire the spears as a long anticipated new skill line, and everyone who owns dlc will get it free in next patch.

"Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.”
― Robert E. Howard
This was once done in Everquest II. They put bunnies in every in-game overland zone, but they were more like cosmetic, non-attackable critters. On April the 1st those bunnies started chasing players and one-shotting them, which put quite a scare in many player then, it was 2015 I think. They made them passive critters the day after again, and never re-activated any following years.
But it was actually hilarious to be shock-surprised by vorpal bunnies.
