No you don't need to setup Credit Card, Paypal, or whatever subscription setup you need to get your Free 30 Days.
PM one of Zenimax CS around this forum, they will give you 1 Day Compensation key or something. With that key, you should be able to redeem your game key without having to setup your subscription, voila you will have your free 30 days. ZOS_ChesterN sorted it out for me.

Why do you think it will go F2P at all? As much as I hate to reference it, the biggest (as in most successful) MMO out there still is not F2P, and ESO beats the hell out of World of Warcrap. It has a fresh way of doing everything from questing to crafting. I think it will be the game other companies try to imitate for years to come.
