wonder what everybody thinks the odds are on us getting to see Atmora in a dlc or something...

WHY THE QUESTION = THE ATMORAN PETS IN THE CROWN STORE!!!

Given that by this point in Elder Scrolls history Atmora is a frozen wasteland incapable of supporting mer or human life - there's a reason everyone left, after all - I'd say the chances are pretty slim. We could maybe see a sliver of it as part of a quest in the future, but I sincerely doubt it'll ever be a zone.

How about an "other" option? As in, I don't know, and I'm not really fussed one way or the other.

I chose the wrong option. The only people who can live in atmora are ZOS with their cold and nasty changes. Especially to frost.

Can we deal with all the blank zones on the map first? It just makes me sad every time they end up adding something like Clockwork City or Artaeum.

I clicked the wrong option because I forgot when ESO was set. I do think we’ll end up seeing the rest of Tamriel first, then probably commonly requested places like Akavir - and considering Akavir is supposedly similar size to Tamriel, that could take a long time in itself. I hope we get to see all of Nirn though.

Atmora was the land where Nords lived before they migrated to Tamriel. It was located to the North. It all sank beneath a sea of ice some time long, long ago.

Well, the pet and mount are in the store.

I wonder if these store offerrings are kind of like a test to see how interested we would be in future content...like if the atmora stuff sells crazy they'd work on that for the near future because it would sell well or be popular.

    oh well.

    Thank you.

Perhaps they could use some sort of time travel mechanic to take us there where we would be tasked with helping that zone prep for evacuation? Not sure how players would take that, but that seems like a possible way to make the zone accessible eventually.

Atmora was the land where Nords lived before they migrated to Tamriel. It was located to the North. It all sank beneath a sea of ice some time long, long ago.

It did not "sink beneath a sea of ice." What happened to Atmora was that it became so cold that time literally froze. Atmora is now currently in eternal winter and cannot sustain any life. The only place that has sunk beneath the waves was Yokuda. I don't know where you got that information from.

Note that it says "was brought over from Atmora" by Ysgramor. As in, the breed came with them when everyone left Atmora way back when. The Nords ALSO come from Atmora, but their existence doesn't mean we'll see it. Similarly, if ever there was a Yokudan charger or something in the store, that would mean it was a horse breed originally from Yokuda, not that we're heading to Yokuda anytime soon. Though at least Yokuda still has a couple islands afloat that are inhabitable after the continent sank; Atmora doesn't even really have that.

    Isn't it completely frozen over?
    So is antarctica.
Didn't stop humans from going there for scientific purposes or bragging rights, even though the place is kinda unsuitable for permanent habitation (though I suppose when it comes to tamriel, a powerful enough mage could manage as long as they keep their spells going)

So there definitely could be an expansion sometime where player characters go to visit the frozen shores of atmora for some urgent mission tracking down the roots of the atmorans and finding out why the whole place froze over perhaps, making their way through icy landscapes where they suffer constant freezing damage while outside (like in two certain quests I recall, one flashback in eastmarch, one mountaintop in the rift...), dashing from cave to cave, and doing most of the questing in warmer underground warrens...

Same with yokuda, really... yes, most of it is sunken at this time, and unsuitable for habitation... but there could be something (especially if they ever decide to think up some underwater exploration options), tracking down the origins of the redguard people and getting a look at what they left in millenia past and what became of it in all that time...

And then there is also the mythical land of aldmeris, ancestral home of the elven races... which may or may not really exist at all or be a metaphor instead... and noone really even knows why they left, only that the altmer and maormer keep agressively arguing (as in, with spells and pointy things) about who is the true heir to its legacy...

I could see all of this happening someday if ZOS runs out of other ideas... ;)

Atmora is frozen, but to what point? As well as Yokuda - sunken, but who said completely? These zones may still be explorable. Yes, they don't fit for a normal living - growing crops and cattle, but an equipped expedition could get there.
