Is there going to be compensation for this?

I don't really want to sound rude or taxing, but a lot of players rely on Steam to play their games. Many of us have "real-lives" and all we want is to play some ESO after a long a day. I'm a college student and I have a crappy schedule. All I want is to login and relax, do my thing and then call it a night. I think it would only be fair to actually provide players with some sort of compensation, especially since they might miss out on daily missions and store opportunities.

It seems like EU is broken and that's my main server where all my DLCs, purchases and unlocks are. I can't even login through other means and this is just unacceptable.

The most you could hope for is a crown crate or two

Try go to your steam apps, and go \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client
and launch from there. worked for me.

My guess is not. I do not recall hearing anyone being credited for their subscription when the steam connection was real bad this past summer, many different days in a short time and at least one day was basically a total loss.

Zos needs to get a handle on this. If it is Steams issue Zos needs to tell Steam to get their act together. If it is a Zos issue then Zos needs to get their act together. Someone is screwing up. Glad I never linked my account to Steam.

I tried using the normal launcher, nothing. I tried using the direct client, nothing. I can't login unless I'm using Steam.

As I understand it, that will indeed be the case unless you linked an original ESO account with your Steam account prior to December 2016.

It's mainly just a few gifs, and done for laughs/out of boredom I think. A bit more trolling than usual should be expected with so many of us locked out of the game.

I don't care about crown crates (which would drop only some poisons and potions that I won't use anyways) as "compensation" anymore.

I would like them (either ZOS or Steam, whoever has the responsibility for this) to stand out and take some real time and effort of fixing the real issue instead of giving us a temporary "solution" by another maintenance and hoping that this won't happen at next patch. It seems, very likely, it will happen again.

Or if they don't want to deal with this problem, say it, and give us a possibility to login without the Steam confirmation, so we could use our ESO account to login.
