Would be cool if the final-final image is a subtle teaser where the vestage finds out where the dwemer are.
yes, note that most MMO who shuts down tend to have an world ending effectThis guy probably thinks he's playing Elder Scrolls Offline.
There is no finale in MMO. As a developer, you either keep the updates coming or risk losing players that results in shutdown.

....while falling down after sliding on a banana skin left by one of the princes...... the whole slow-motion-max-payne-like fall.... and then zoom in onto the banana skin. screen goes to black just to return moments later where the prince of darkness takes up the banana with a feel of upcoming doom. the screen finally fades to black with a white text 'finally - the most powerful item in Tamriel'..... THE END....
Whats with the final all over the forum?!

It feels like the end because we have not yet been given a new beginning to look forward to.

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen.
Let's say that, a few years from now, it's time to wrap up ESO. My question is, how would you do it? How would you end it all?
Here's a scenario that I've been chewing on a bit:
In this final chapter, your hero or heroine becomes entangled in one final Daedric plot, one that involves multiple major Princes — except this time, they're wise(r) to your ways and finally unleash their full power against you.
You battle their forces to a final confrontation with these Princes. It's a seemingly hopeless fight in the end ... your hero(ine) falls in the ensuing battle, but not before putting a stop to the latest Daedric plan, whose failure guarantees they'll be prevented from interfering in Tamriel's future for centuries to come.
As you lay dying, your life in Tamriel flashes before your eyes. Your accomplishments. Your failures. Your victories. Your defeats. All of it ... and then some. The last thing you see in this life is a flash of bright white light, followed by darkness and fleeting visions of what's to come ...
... Arena ...
... Daggerfall ...
... Morrowind ...
... Oblivion ...
... Skyrim ...
... and you realize in that last instant of comprehension that you're going to return, again and again, each time playing a crucial role in Tamriel's history. A hero/heroine reborn when the world needs a hero/heroine.
You smile. You'll be back. You'll always be back ...
MMOs closing down is quite a rare event, but it happens.
The best MMO ends are the ones where the community is all there before the lights shut down forever.
Here is me witnessing the last day of the great Warhammer Online. We were all there when the last server has been shut down.
