That one person just barreling through, drawing aggro on a ton of mob groups inevitably leading to an unwanted wipe definitely gets on peoples nerves. You shouldve told them beforehand, not after.

This is the question that I would want to see addressed:

YOU "skipped the trash mobs"; what does that mean for the rest of the party?

Did they have an option to "skip" (i.e. were they in other rooms or in some similar ways not triggered/triggerable?).
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

First, no video proof of that. Second, that number looks unreliable. You tell us that only 8% was done by the other 3 players? Hard to believe.

I got kicked for the same reason. No bigs. I’m all about democracy. If the other 3 wanted to slow walk the dungeon they can do that. They were all pre 50 characters, I got no warning, no explaination, no one even asked to slow it down. I’m perfectly fine with that.

Yes. The majority voted you out.

Next time find other players that want to speed run, instead of ignorantly assuming that everyone wants to do what you want.

Not really. I've been 60% of the group dps as the tank before pulling 6k. Entire group dps was 10k. Assuming the healer did no damage somehow, the 2 dps left were each pulling 2k. So a player getting 25k with one of those dps would be at 92% of the group dps assuming healer and tank do nothing.

To the OP, the solution to this issue is simple:

Type /g# in chat. Replace # with 1-5. Ask if anyone wants to run a quick random normal for xp bonus. It's really not hard to find 3 other people who want an easy 100k xp

I may have deserved it though.

I decided to do a random normal, I had a Grand XP scroll running and 25 minutes left on it, so I thought I should get that juicy XP and just rush the dungeon.
Naturally I contemplated setting my role to tank and just slot a taunt. I've done this before to no complaints, it's not difficult to hold taunt in a normal dungeon as a dps, but I decided best get a real tank this time.

The queue pops and Falkreath hold is the dungeon chosen. The tank is actually an argonian in light armor with a resto staff. I don't care as long as they taunt.
Tank does not taunt at all, and because I was doing 92% of the group dps, the enemies would naturally target me. This was fine, I was able to just stand still and let the enemies pile up in front of me, I have a couple actual tanks so I know what to do, just keep them still inside all our DoTs.

After completing the Mammoth boss, I decided to skip the trash inside the city and rush straight to the next boss, partly because my XP timer was running out and also I haven't actually bothered with that trash since the dungeon was released. This upset my team, they did not like me running ahead. I told them to just run past everything and die at the next boss. Rather than asking me to come back to them, they chose to kick me from the group.

Realistically, unless they got a replacement DPS that can carry while tanking, they definitely did not complete that dungeon without me.

    My question to everyone:

Did I deserve to be kicked for wanting to skip the trash and rushing through the dungeon, or should I have carried them through the whole thing bit by bit?

Yes, and I'd have kicked you too.

I'm a CP810 tank, DPS, healer and can solo any dungeon I choose, but if I am in a group and the majority want to do the dungeon correctly, then I do the dungeon correctly. I always make a point of asking if anyone needs quest etc., when I tank any dungeon, and if anyone says yes, I clearly state that, "Ok, we'll do the dungeon at your pace". If I then see someone rushing it, I initiate the vote to kick.

If you were pulling 92% of DPS and can take the aggro, you may as well have just solo'd it as it would have taken less than 25 mins IME.

Well basically you're saying your wanted to utilize your xp pot but leaving xp behind while skipping, somehow not very logical for me tbh. 🤔

You deserved to be kicked in my opinion if you kept trying to suicide yourself to the next boss. I hate it when people do that. Drives me nuts and I've left dungeons because of it before. But they should have gave you a chance to come back if they weren't willing to do it. So they were a little trigger happy.

That being said - sounded like your tank needed to be kicked too. Frankly, this just sounds like a horrid group period. I'm glad I wasn't in it.

I agree with this answer 100%.

I am not as quick to kick. I would have waited to see how the next boss went, at least. I do sometimes find it annoying when people skip trash (especially because I am horrible at navigating and will not know the route to sneak or run through or whatever) but I get that it's common enough and would not leave a group that wanted to do it. But expecting people to run through trash in die.... not worth it and not "generally accepted" in dungeons.

If you wanted feedback, you should have been up front with the others first. "I'm on a scroll, timer is ticking, I need to do a fast run."

That probably would have got you whatever you needed to know before you got 3/4 of the way through - but at least honesty could have been a better policy.

this. the problem wasn't even rushing through as much as not communicating it, not explaining why you would rather do it your way, AND not waiting for your group members.

skipping trash is fine, just communicate it to your group, don't assume they know how.

Being in a group that decided as a group to do it is one thing. Having one guy in a group deciding to do it when the others don't is on a whole other level of selfish.

The whole grouping concept in ESO and most other MMOs is partly at fault though by bribing you with individual rewards to get you to group in the first place.

I've been playing MMOs since the launch of Asheron's Call back in the late '90s and I have seen player's attitude and expectations about group play change drastically and not in a good way. Everything about themepark MMOs today emphasizes you as the individual special hero and rewards you accordingly.

Is it any wonder that many people who group these days just do it as if they're still soloing?

I've been in a group where the other DPS was pulling 80%. Granted, he's a fantastic DPS, floating somewhere around 65k against dummies last I saw. So, maybe it's possible?

I've also been in runs where I was pulling more than 50% on my tanks. :\

EDIT: Yeah, if party DPS is 6-7k, and he was pulling ~60k, that'd be 92%.

Dungeon mobs has 4 times less exp then overland mobs, definitely not worth wasting time killing them for maximum exp scroll usage.
